Go to the Supermarket or a Department Store and buy a package of 3M scouring pads .. either Purple or Green .. they recreate the factory brushed finish better than the factory did it. Use masking tape to protect polished areas.

The oils from your skin get onto the surface of stainless steel and give it a dark grey coating. Removing the oil reveals the bright metal.

Sure! What you need to do is go to a large sporting goods store, or a good quality bicycle shop and ask for "dry chain lubricant" .. this will go on as a liquid and then flash-dry to leave a layer of teflon on the inner workings of a bracelet. You will be truly amazed at how much black grit and flakes of metal are washed out of the bracelet. Factory machining residue. As for cleaning SS, once I am sure it's waterproof, I wear my dive watches in the shower and give them a good soaping!

Absolutely. Finishing steps, like teflon lubricant (white lightning) and SS cleaner really improve any factory replica.

With any gold plated watch, you should expect it to eventually wear through. That applies to genuine plated jewelry as well, of course. Normally you would not wear a gold plated replica watch as your daily piece, to try and preserve the plating for as long as possible. No, the good pieces dont turn you green. You're thinking "Canal Street" now
