  1. I just took a look and they are using stock photos of gens for their ads. Never a good sign. You dont know what you are going to get and you have no recourse if it's junk.
  2. Someone's asleep at the switch! I'm attending a wedding later on today, so I was trying to decide which to wear. It's a very casual affair in a public park's band shell. I think I'll let the Mrs wear the new UN Maxi Marine Diver SS .. and I will wear ... the slightly bling DSSD ... I would have gone Steelfish w/ white dial but it's out for "experimentation" with gen crowns.
  3. Anytime. Any watch without anti-reflective coatings will have glare issues. The DSSD with it's massive crystal adds distortions to the mix as well.
  4. Fake tourby watches are also known as "open heart" designs. The balance assembly of a normal watch is simply shown through a hole in the dial of the watch. It has no actual tourby parts. An actual tourbillion balance assembly either spins in 3 dimensions in addition to rotating normally .. OR has a little "moon" satellite which orbits it (the pallate stones and escape wheel) In the photo above my post, here, you can see this little "full moon" orbiting the genuine tourbillion at the 9 o'clock position of the balance wheel (9 o''clock of the photo, not the watch). It looks like a spiked wheel. So, to re-iterate, a fake tourbillion watch is simply just a normal watch with a hole in the dial so you can see the balance wheel move.
  5. the rep DSSD crystal is sapphire, just like the Gen watch. The large, thick dome of the crystal is what causes the distortion at severe angles. As you are probably well aware, Rolex severely limits the use of anti-reflective coatings on it's watches with only a small few having this glare-reducing application. The DSSD (gen or rep) does not have this. Some people here prefer to send theirs to the Chief for his legendary AR. I have heard in the past that some rep DSSD crystals are domed on not only the top but also the bottom, and that these examples create more distortion than flat-bottomed rep crystals versions. I can't verify that. I suggest that if you are suspicious, go to the AD and ask to see a gen DSSD at angles .. and you can then determine how far off the mark your crystal is. As for the glare .. thats a Gen issue as well. Enjoy your watch; it's a fine example.
  6. I don't know how far this Dealer goes on "QC" .. the advertisements state "thru my own hands" and what that actually means is open to interpretation, I guess. No harm, no foul .. it is perfect other than 4 or 5 loose screws.
  7. So I received a new watch yesterday, and as is my normal routine, after I adjusted the bracelet to fit, I checked every screw in the links for tightness. No problem. Tonight, when I was in the kitchen, I dropped some stuff into the garbage compactor and ... felt something odd .. my new watch slithered across the back of my hand and into the garbage. Luckily, the screw which had fallen out was resting nicely on top of a piece of paper. I had completely not noticed that the end links were held onto the watch head with ... ready? ... SCREWS. If you think you tightened them all .. check again. Tighten them ps - half of the caseback screws were loose too.
  8. Hello and welcome! After your watch comes to you, wear it for 1 month or 2 ... then if you think you love it, then have it serviced. Decide to do this only after you know you love the watch. It is not very expensive to do, but this depends on where you live in the World!
  9. Just received this UN dimple dial from Sead, yesterday afternoon.

  11. Every country has different glue names I use Loctite brand slow-setting adhesive for metal-ceramic-wood-glass Make sure your glue does not e x p a n d during dry time or you will be very sad
  12. It's probably not the best idea to follow 3rd party hotlinks from first time posters. IP logging comes to mind.
  13. Yes. The glue must dry slowly so you may align the bezel insert properly before the glue dries. Do not use instant super glue.
  14. If you're not in love with the square Bell & Ross designs, then the B&R 02 series is one of the best replicated watches out there. My PVD coated 02
  15. I have an 01-94 and an 02 ... don't know much about the 01-92. Sorry. G'luck with that.
  16. All bell & ross rep owners must loctite (thread locking liquid) their tube screws or lose them. Do it or lose your watch.
  17. Thunderbirds are GO !! Gerry Anderson owns the copyright on that color scheme, no?

    DSSD V5

    Enjoy it! Looks great.
  19. Any of the trusted dealers can ship to the US. The problem with shipping to the EU is that certain countries there are fanatical about finding and destroying replicas of any type when they come in thru Customs. In the US there is a faint chance of being seized but ... its 95% sure to be OK on small quantities of watches .. like 3 or less. Send Watch International an email. Their address is in their section here on this Forum. Since the OP was asking about PO and the best PO without Happy feet ... get a UPO and replace every single part you dont like with a genuine part. The UPO is built to genuine dimensions.
  20. That's a good point .. I hope I'm not always staring down into the camera LCD while everyone else is clapping .. I'd look like a doofus
  21. Be certain to ID yourself as an RWG member when you order from Watch Bitz, You get a discount
