Another worthy project - I have to say that, having a watch with all the very best available parts: FGD, Matt, Jakob etc. the only thing missing is the engraving on the swiss movement.
I had an early DSN version, as a daily beater, for about two years.
This is streets ahead, especially the cannon pin: the DSN had some sort of strange tiny cap over it to hide the hand stack.
That said, the graphite dial was absolutely hypnotic and, as Pete says, the 7750 is a workhorse in this roll.
As I remember though: the hour hand definitely does not jump.
Great additions to your collection!
Been looking at the Challenge with thoughts of getting Phdad to work it over like my PloProf.
The only thing is that bulky side profile on the skinny standard strap - have you had any thoughts on a beefier strap?
Keep us posted if you come up with anything.
Cheers
Although Panerai Ferrari reps are undoubtedly some of the most accurate - I have an an 008 and the 030- the association has indeed ended. Official Ferrari watches are now made by Girard Perregaux, however - Tag Heuer, Citizen and even Cartier have all had a go at it. Whilst several of the Girard Perregaux Ferrari watches are specific model related: as far as I know these have never been replicated.
