Dealers often have to change their websites. Go to the dealer section, click on the dealer you want information on, and read the posts. That's where you'll find their updated site addresses...

I used a Marine Epoxy (2 part) and glued it in and held it tight with a vice over night...hasn't fallen out yet
-
The case tube should fit, just not the same as Gen. You'll have to use Marine Epoxy to glue it into place...

Welcome aboard! Here are some answers: 1. When the dealers say "made with a genuine watch completely dissected" - they mean that they had a real watch in the shop to use as a template for making the replica version. Not that they used real parts in your watch. 2. Mechanical watches are not perfect, they do not keep to exactly +/- 0 seconds per day like your digital watch. Depending on how you wear your watch, it should be in the range of +/- 10 to 30 seconds per day. Usually closer to +/- 15 seconds if it's well regulated and lubricated. For example, when watched over a several day period, my Planet Ocean gains about 2 seconds per day, and over a week it'll gain about 15 seconds, so in a months time, my watch will have gained about 1 minute. Every couple of months, I will adjust the time back to 0, and go through the process again. If you're running +15 per day, you'd be a minute ahead every for days, or about +7 minutes per month, that can be adjusted, but keep in mind, even Swiss movements in High End watches do the same thing exact thing. Hope this help's clarify your questions...

This bracelet is from my Speedmaster, I have a NOS on backorder right now. I was just going to buy a clasp for the Speedmaster to turn it into a Seamaster, but It was only like a $100 more to get a NOS bracelet, and then I still have a spare for the Speedmaster...

Good luck with the build OSRep! I love my franken, I am sure you will too!

Good eye OSRep! Build thread here...

I've started a new project and it turns out that there were several other similar builds in progress before I started. So here's my story: I got the hankering to get a Vintage Seamaster 300, and after looking at some of the originals (1960's), I decided to see if there were any NOS parts available. After a quick look at some of our normal parts houses I noticed that all of the parts were available for a complete watch. So I ordered everything, case, dial, hands, datewheel, case screws, case clamps, etc... After ordering I received an email stating that the case was out of stock. Dang! Oh well, there are other parts houses to order from, so I placed another order. Dang! Backorder number 2. At this point I figured I'd just wait and see what happened. Maybe it will only be a week or 2. I still needed to get a donor watch for a movement, and wasn't sure how long that'd take, so I wasn't too worried about the backorder. While I was hunting for the donor with an Omega 565 movement, my first order of parts arrived: Awesome! The lume on the dial is just as bright as my Franken PO. Which is bright! Very exciting. But back to work. I needed a movement, after perusing eBay for a week or so, I found a decent donor from Singapore: It was a little dirty, but I planned on it going off my watchmaker and getting a thorough servicing... Donor watch arrived fast, something like 3 days from Singapore! I love EMS shipping (I talked the shipper into upgrading the shipping at no charge! )! I took the donor and the parts I had down to my watchmaker for the servicing...now I just had to wait for the case. I called the parts houses where the case was on back order and found out that both of the big boys (you know who they are, they rhyme with Smotto Phrei, and DousinsUk), had been out of stock for more than a month and had no ETA on when they'd be getting a shipment in. Uh Oh...I have all the parts and no case. This could be a problem! While hunting for the case I got a call from the watchmaker. Uh Oh. Turns out that the rotor was slightly warped and was dragging on the main plate. I told him I'd start hunting down a replacement rotor. I found one and called to tell my watchmaker that I had, but in the 15 minutes it took to track down a NOS rotor, he had gone to work and straightened out the rotor..no more dragging! Whew! Disaster ($100 replacement) averted! After some further research, I decided to call WatchCo in the Land of Oz. From their website I knew that they were at once the Omega parts supplier for Down Under and that they may have the case (even though it wasn't listed on their website). I started calling them the Thursday prior to Easter, but couldn't get anybody in their office. So I called again on Friday, nothing. Turns out the Aussies get Good Friday off. No prob. I'll call them on Monday. Dang. Anzac day! They were off again. Tuesday? Nope - everybody took a long weekend! Dang. I hate being patient! Wednesday? SUCCESS! I got through, and they have cases! AWESOME. So, I've been watching tracking, and look what arrived this morning: Sweet minty NOS Goodness! My watchmaker is closed today, but tomorrow he's getting the case and the last of the small parts (case clamps and screws). Hopefully we'll have this baby together by the end of the week! All in, I am at about $1400, which is still about $700 less than what WatchCo gets for a full watch. So, not too bad, not too bad at all! I'll keep y'all posted when it get's wrapped up. You other guys out there build process, feel free to post your stories!

7750 Disassembly - Pictorial Step by Step
dbutlerman replied to redwatch's topic in General Discussion
Sweet! Nice work Red! I've had the 7750 down to this point, but, I never put it back together...I lost a couple of crucial parts... -
That's a great tool watch...if you get lost between two time zones, need to find your way back home, and need to know if it's cold where you are...
-
Check watchuseek and timezone for the bracelet...look for people who sold the PO on Rubber, more than likely they have a SS bracelet laying around...

I guess this post needs a bit of an update... Two new additions: 1: Gen Crystal 2: Gen Case Back - In case anybody was wondering it does fit! Gen. is on the right.... I saw a Gen. Cal 2500 on one of the Gen Forums...but I don't think I am going any further into this one...
-
Haha...It's one of those reverse 'lume' jobs! LHOOQ - I think you have a pretty good guess on what's going to be coming out of the other side of this one...
-
Not my normal style, but I have some plans for this one...

Hey guys - I am watching this auction for a Seamaster, I am looking to scavenge the movement from it, but I can't tell which model or which movement this one would have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Ebay Link

Nice Ubi! What ever happened to the 1665 build?
-
Hey Ubi - I have to admit your 300 had a lot to do with my decision...and your quality over quantity motto...
-
BTW - woof* - did you ever come up with a list of watches that for sure have the 565 movement?
-
Thanks woof* I do already have some parts on order and I am really wanted to go with the OEM replacement case. They are kind of scarce at the moment. I have one on order from Cousins right now. They show that they are on back order from the Factory. I am trying to find another option here stateside, but am not having much luck. Right now I have inbound: Dial, Hands, Stems, Case Clamps and Screws....Now I need a Case and Movement...
-
Hey Folks - I am building a custom project and I am not sure how long to make the winding stem. Is the some trick to it or is it all guess work? Put the stem in, trim, see if its too long??? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Very Nice - Where did you get a case with a Serial, is that standard on the 5th Gen?

I am starting a Vintage Omega Seamaster 300 with all new parts (less movement) similar to what WatchCo out of Australia does. The only thing I am in need of is an Omega Caliber 565 Movement. Does anybody out there have an old Omega that has a working 565 movement in it. I can get them on Ebay out of old watches, and some loose movements, but I wanted to see if anybody on here already has one. Thanks!
