  1. $475 rings a bell in my head. This was only about 6 months ago...
  2. Your AD's are a lot nicer than mine My guy wanted me to bring it down and leave the watch with him while he ordered the parts, I had to beg to let me bring the watch home with me...
  3. 78360's can be purchased relatively cheaply (around $400 - I guess not too cheap) from Rolex ADs. But that is for a brand new one. Bring in your Rolex and Band, they will verify authenticity, order you a new one, and install it for you. They won't let you take the new bracelet un-mounted and I am unsure if they will let you keep your old one...
  4. This may sound odd, but I cut it square with scissors and then used a bench grinder to shape It. The heat from the grinder snapping also melted the ends enough to keep it from unravelling. You could probably use a dremmel instead.
  5. Nice work T! I can totally relate to this. I run several web/data/email servers as kind of a side job, and I have almost the identical setup. I keep buying additional servers (I am up to 4 onsite and 1 offsite) just to prevent situations similar to this. It just goes to show even the best plans sometimes fail. Congrats on getting it back up and running. I can understand the stress. I can't believe this site is up to 52GB of storage...holy cow!
  6. Hi Matt - It is addictive - in my opinion, this is the best watch out there period (Gen or Franken). I don't know if you heard of my whole affair with the PO, but here is a quick synopsis. I had just got into the hobby and bought a couple of decent out of the box reps then I ran across Ubiquitous' post on his Franken PO, so I hunted down a new 4th Gen, and began the modding process. Started with a bezel, then gen clasp, and then date wheel, dial and hands, and then a full Gen Bracelet and lastly a Gen Crown and Tube. It was great. Then I won a Genuine Speedmaster Pro in on the Raffles here and I put the PO in a box and stopped wearing it. After a couple of months I decided I should sell it and let it go to somebody who would wear it, so it went off to a new home. I immediately began missing it. So after about 6 months I decided to start again. I contacted a couple of the dealers and they couldn't source a new 4th Gen PO...gerat...I sold my last chance of having a Franken PO, but then I remembered what had inspired me in the beginning, Ubi's Franken PO. I had noticed he hadn't posted anything new about it lately so I sent him a PM asking if he wanted to let it go, and we agreed on a price and I took possession of his beauty. I then reserved a spot in Chief AR run and ordered a new Crown and Tube (as Ubi was the stock unit) and began the minor modifications...and I believe you know the rest of the story.. Anyway, it's a great piece and I am sure you'll love it...just don't sell it, you'll regret it!
  7. Welcome to the Speedy club. It's a great watch!
  8. And there's also the pride in knowing that you put it together from bits. You know the workings inside and out...there is something to be said for that! 4th Gen PO with all the mods...
  9. I agree 100%. Black on the PO is the way to go, it's very understated!
  10. The day wheel appears to be mis-aligned, you can see another day beneath the W in Wed..
  11. Wow..that is ugly. Why put a display back on such an ugly movement...I mean, I can understand display backs on an Omega 1863 or even the 7750, but this is terrible...
  12. I didn't think I'd care if it had the Blue Hue or not, but now that it has it (much more hue than Chiefs) I kinda like it. It's all personal preference though, as for me, blue is it!
  13. Yeah...everything gen except the case and movement. I'm pretty sure it won't get those "gen'd"
  14. Just as a follow up...I bought A crystal from Otto Frei and it's s perfect fit with the replica gasket. I had planned on using a genuine gasket but ofrei sent me a 45 mm instead of the 42 mm. Gasket number in the package was right but it way too big.
  15. 1665 with Submariner crystal today...just got a a 93250 Bracelet from Yukiwatch and I am really liking it. Solid Mid Links - feels nice and heavy!
  16. The Rolex hands will not fit an ETA, but, the hands for a Tudor do fit an ETA. So, try to find a set of aftermarket replacement Tudor hands or a set of Used Tudor's and you should be good to go! Didn't realize you were looking for a GMT handset. Disregard my comment...sorry....
  17. I am not really knocking the special forces, just a joke
  18. Probably not, but it does make you wonder about the British Special Forces doesn't it...
