  1. That aged look on the FGD 203a is beautiful . Can you tell us where you sourced the PVD case?
  2. They look sweet Zeko! Although there are alternatives out there, the world really needs more VCGs.
  3. Yup. Screws from Jackson Tse definitely work, assuming the thread matches your case. I've tried Jackson's regular CG screws and the screws for his Titanium cases (smaller in diameter. Both work well with the Toro.
  4. B, I'll leave it to the experts to chime in on differences between V2 and V3 FGD's. I just know by the time I joined RWG, I had already missed two runs, but Simon was kind enough to get me into the summer/fall 2009 production run (V3).
  5. Wolf, That's an interesting oddity, thanks for sharing the link. I have an FGD v3 201a dial which I sprayed over with a matt finish (Tamiya Clear Flat spray), and it actually has a chocolate hue now. You can see a pic in my sig link. I'm gonna look into this again and see If I can get the same chocolate finish on my 002/009 FGD.
  6. Awesome PVD collection! Keep them all. It would be a shame to break up the pamily.
  7. Mr. Wolf: Your posts are always a masterclass in the craft of repmaking. Congratulations on a truly beautiful timepiece.
  8. I did not know I wanted to build a 249 until today. Awesome stuff Paul! I'll get on the waiting list if you decide to bring this to the community!
  9. Excellent news T! Thanks for bringing this to the community. Any indications on pricing?
  10. Thanks for the kind words folks. Still a lot to do. Eagerly awaiting FGD's PreV handsets. I still need to order PreV screw-in lugs from our friend in Oz. In the meantime Jacob's caseback arrived last week and it is SWEET. Thanks again to FGD, Toro and Jakob. babola: The strap on the 201/A is a Toscana while the PreA 001 has a Simona PAV swdivad: By 'nub' I'm referring to the part of the CG lever that touches the crown. I ended up sanding it down since I have a shallow dish crown.
  11. Congratulations! Beautiful execution. I've got this on my build list myself.
  12. Martyd3's 205a post a few weeks back inspired me to finally get my own 205a build completed. Woke up early this morning and got it done. Here it is: FGD, ToroBravo CG, Swiss 6497, Hands from Spinmaster's private stock, Manifatture Firenze strap from ST4, Sterile caseback (again waiting for Mr JH to fix this). Hope to see yours soon... My workbench: notice the precision swiss popsicle stick. Perfect for making sure the hands are on flat and horizontal to the watch face. The obligatory CG comparisons: Toro on top, VCG middle, Seadbo (reshaped for PreA) on bottom. The ToroBravo CGs are the most underrated PreV CGs on the market. I think they're perfect and can't wait to see the PVD and Ti versions to come out. Vamos Toro! Finally, my completed 205a. Actually haven't filed down the Toro CG's nub yet. May wait to replace the lever with a Jackson Tse. I'd like to avoid sanding down a perfectly fat nub if I can avoid it: Thanks for looking!
  13. Beautiful! And your avatars are always icing on the cake!
  14. Schwing! Option 2 please T.
  15. The lume color is a testament to FGD's attention to detail. I just cased the dial. Cheers
  16. I always enjoy your posts. They are like mini DIY tutorials. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Sorry, was playing around with photobucket. Hope you can see these: The PreA1 CG shots: Flattened SeadBo on Top. V-CG on bottom. CG shots: Flattened SeadBo on Top. V-CG middle, JacksonTse on bottom. Finally. the groupshots: 201a, PreA1, 001B
  18. Slowly starting to catchup on actually finishing my PreV and PreA projects. Sharing my PreA-001 fresh off the bench. Comments/suggestions welcome: Dial: FGD PreA 001. Flat finish. Thanks S! Case: Sourced from a trade, unknown maker but looks just like my 201a case. Good bezel and lug profile. CG: Flattened/polished SeadBo. Lever swapped with the JacksonTse lever. Crown: Came with case. 48 teeth, shallow dish, spring loaded. Movement/Hands: Sourced from RWG member#3 Swiss 6497 with Panerai plates. Strap: Simona PAV, purchased second-hand from Risti Caseback: Solid blank. Waiting for Jakob to fix this! On to the pics: FGD PreA 001 CG comparison: Flattened SeadBo CG on top (probably needs more flattening). V-CG on bottom. CG comparison: Flattened SeadBo CG on top. V-CG in middle. JacksonTse CG on bottom. Groupshots with my 201a and 01B Thanks for looking!
  19. Thanks for the info Mr B!
  20. garygraphy: If you don't mind, can you post a closeup of the DSN "Luminor Panerai" font. Just curious how it looks like nowadays. I used to have a DSN 127, but the font printing left much to be desired (the "M" looked like IVI").
