Caseback removal tool will ultimately depend on what kind of case back you are working with. Usually, a 3 prong Jaxa style caseback wrench will work with most casebacks, unless you're working with Rolex or similar brand with the serrated teeth. For the crystal press, have a look at birdman's tools. He should have a pretty good selection at reasonable prices. If you are looking to press out crystals, you'll also need some tools to remove the movement from the case. I would recommend a small set of watchmaker screw drivers; 1.0mm 1.2mm, 1.4mm, 1.6mm, 2.0mm. I think Horotec makes a good set of screwdrivers; speaking of which, I need to get a new set myself. Also consider a dust blower for blowing out all the junk on the dial and crystal when it's time to put everything back together, some lint free paper, and some #2 amagnetic tweezers. That should at least get you started...

While one doesn't really replace the other... Kind of along the same theme... Also, lots of multiple MBW 1665, 1680, MBK Nautilus, DW 6263/5, TW Best 16610, WM9 16622, 16610... Dunno why, but buying, selling and re-buying seems to be a common practice for me...

On my 5513 case, I have gen 580's as well, mated to a 78360 bracelet and 93150 clasp: Good fit overall. Nice and flush to the case...

I think it's partially due to the lighting; different angles and what not. I should also note that I don't have an AR'd crystal in my pic; vly's is, I believe. Both are EL V1, I think; since my dial is uncassed, I can try and get you a pic snapped of it au naturel...

Me personally, my first preference is to sell or trade with the path of least resistance or process; if I can get a parcel sent with minimal headache, paperwork, delivery in two days and for $5, that's 1st choice for me

I'm with you on that, CF! Oldies and mids are my pref as well- Just something about those matte dials, the acrylic crystals... But the crisp, clean look and feel of the modern pieces can't be discounted either! For the transitionals, the combo of matte with sapphy combines the best of both Something to appreciate in every category and with every model, I think...

Personally speaking, I like CONUS transactions as Priority only takes 2 days for delivery in most cases. That's really my only discerning factor for selling and buying pre-owned (reps or gens). For trades... I like CONUS as there is less risk involved for both parties regarding customs. With two or more pieces in transit going back and forth, it's always a good idea to mitigate risk where possible when possible. I will note that I am always open to exceptions as my last trade transaction originated out of Canada... CONUS is just ideal to *me* for the reasons cited. And yes, I think this should probably be in GD instead of the trading forum...

I think your wrist shape is more important than wrist size- If you have a relatively flat wrist, I think pulling off a Bentley 6.75 is doable. Will it be big? Yeah... For most people, a watch of this size is going to have some significant wrist presence (unless you're POTR); however, if it wears comfortably, isn't riding up and down the wrist, or spinning around and if the lugs are curved/conformed (a la the Montbrillant Legende) it would be completely acceptable, in my opinion. To me, it's more about how it wears. Also, the 44/45mm Breits have a tendancy to be top heavy, as the cases are quite thick in profile relative to diameter/width of the case. With the wider diameter case, the proportions are a bit better, and the watch tends to sit a bit flatter.

Hard to pick just one when they are all fantastic in their own right. Always interesting to look back on the model refs and to observe the technical changes each has made throughout the years. Rolex divers have remained pretty true to form, with only slight changes and revisions made throughout. No unnecessary frills or gimmicks...

An age old question... Many people have different reasons for being in this hobby. Some want the image of having a particular watch without the entry fee to buying gen. Some recognize the value of reps; having a near exact replication at a fraction of the cost making more dollar sense. Some enjoy the thrill of searching and hunting down the most accurate replication of it's genuine counterpart (always a fun game). Some want to 'test drive' the look, feel and fit of a particular watch before spending the money on gen (this is a good way to find out if a watch works for you prior to parting with large sums of cash). Some enjoy building and modding watches. Some just appreciate all aspects of horology, and collect both, regardless of history, origin or provenance. Of course, this is not an encompassing view- There are likely many other reasons why people collect or buy reps. What this hobby means to each individual will absolutely vary depending on what they hope to achieve from it.
