  1. I just grind them out completely. Once you have the springbar and bracelet end in place, the end link stays where it's at anyways...
  2. supermanx- You definitely want slightly recessed; just enough to see the inner edge of the bezel rim. watcher- I believe the insert on a 16600 (like yours) may actually sit a slight bit more recessed due to the bezel height...
  3. Wowzers, J! It's definitely... Um... Crispy!
  4. Never seen the yellow ones... Where do they sell those? I've only had the vanilla pinkys...
  5. Love the 5218-201/A. One of my absolute favorites for a PAM.
  6. Not a big fan of it either. I'd rather own a simple DJ instead of this gimmicky TOG, which is neither a dress watch, nor a sporty watch (in my opinion)...
  7. I must admit... At first, I wasn't impressed by this piece, simply discarding the idea as a Royal Oak T3 rip off. However... The more I look at it's details, the more I see that it has a characteristic all it's own. It's an interesting piece. Especially the PVD model...
  8. I must admit- The Constellation line is really growing on me. The more I see them, the more I like them! Perhaps Mrs. Ubi might like one, too.... Hmmmmm...
  9. I used cape cod to polish the brushed center links on this rep bracelet to a mirror like finish; the gen bracelet I have for this watch, being made of 904L was causing a rash, so I switched to a hollow link 316 SS to use in it's place. Since the entire bracelet was brushed, I had to polish the centers so it would be correct... So, you can use Cape Cod to polish to a mirror like finish. It just takes a really long time to do it!
  10. Try here... http://www.rockxwatch.com/eng/hummer/
  11. The rep TOG has some incorrect dimensions to it- Namely the crystal (too small, not tall enough) and the bezel. Those are the visual tell signs for this model...
  12. Ahhhh... The 'SWISS' signed dial is a Luminova replacement to the Tritium 'SWISS T<25'. 'SWISS MADE' is also an acceptable replacement to T dials as well
  13. Thanks, BT. The GMT hand would definitely be on my list of things to swap out. And I'd probably end up doing the hollow link SEL as well Perhaps some other changes as well... We'll have to see
  14. Pass on all 3. 1st is okay, but I've seen much better for aftermarket. 2nd is for an acrylic (plastic) crystal model- completely different diameter. 3rd is not as good as the 1st.
  15. Some of you may recall this one from the old RWG a year ago- And now it's back again This one's a TW Best of the old school- Nice case, rehaut, lug holes. I've got it fitted to a hollow end/mid link bracelet with the short GMT clasp. Lugs have already been drilled for 2mm bars... So, what do you guys think? Time for another project, perhaps (as if I didn't already have enough going on at the moment)?
  16. As Heywood has mentioned, that is an old 7mm Twinlock for a Sub/SD. Very rare to find, and even more difficult to source the tube.
  17. kruz, Triplock refers to the gasket system used in the tube- There's a gasket at the base of the tube where it threads to the case, another inside the tube to seal at the stem, and of course, the gasket on the outside of the threads that mate to the crown. Twinlock is the same concept, except a smaller diameter crown/tube (6mm vs. 7mm) and minus the gasket outside of the tube. Technically, there is also a gasket inside the crown to compress against the inside edges of the tube, but that one isn't counted into the figure
  18. The middle crown is a vintage Triplock from the 70's. Just installed one of these on my MBW 1665 Great find... These are usually a bit more difficult to source...
  19. Great watches! I especially dig the 6541 and the crown on the 6538!
  20. You need to advance the watch 12 more hours... Date change will then take place at midnight.
  21. Beautiful, Dave! Ziggy is a man of many talents, all of which he is a master at. Your dial looks great! I can't wait to see it installed in your 1680!
  22. I LOVE that strap!! Killer combo!!
