  1. Mine measures at 27.4/.5mm in diameter.
  2. I can measure mine from my EL 16622... In just a few minutes I'll have an answer for you...
  3. Amazing! I can't wait to see this one finished! You've taken every step thus far to the fullest. The end result is going to be unreal!
  4. Hell... I wish I knew exactly what my basis watch was... I'd like to build another!
  5. I measure across the axis of the crown, 9-3 and exclude the crown as part of that measurement. With regards to the differences in measurements- Perhaps one dealer is taking the crown into account and the other is not. 2mm difference may indicate that...
  6. Hmmm... Not sure if this is even relevant (as you may have a watch from a different source/factory/dealer, etc.), but looking through EL's photoalbum, I saw this pic: Does this help at all?
  7. If you push an edge of the strap in at the lugs, can you see a springbar? I'm not familiar with the Cartiers, but I would imagine that there can't be too many methods to attach the strap...
  8. Well, there are two types of 'SINGER' dials... MBW 'SINGER': And genuine 'SINGER'
  9. You can probably fit one But, you may have to glue the bezel down, or figure out a way to affix it to the case. The 'Asian' 1680's and vintage Rolexes typically use a tension fit bezel which goes around the crystal with a tension spring/spacer, whereas the MBW's/WM's use the retaining ring to hold and seal the crystal to the case (and the bezel then snaps to the retaining ring). So... It can probably be done. It's just the matter of holding it on that's an issue...
  10. Mine is neither- It's definitely not the same as the new Sub, and it's not the TW Best Classic either (as that one has lug holes, and some other characteristics that differ, like the bezel, etc). I thought that mine was similar to cheiftang's, but we had discussed it and came to the conclusion that mine is still different than his. Mine is, perhaps the closest to Jos', but mine still has a slightly deeper rehaut. The watch in my hands did come from EL, which was then traded to me in a transaction. Aside from that, I don't know much more about it's origins...
  11. Nice GEN 16613, Michael!! BTW... Had fun at the GTG!
  12. Today... For the first time in a long time... My modded MBW 1680...
  13. Here's a pic of my modified TW Best 16610; the basis of the watch is from Eddie. Date mag looks good to me. Rehaut is good too... Best of all... Etched crown @ 6:00 is nearly invisible
  14. Hi Arthur, Really, there is no difference. All acrylic Rolex crystals are arbitrarily called 'Tropics'. Not sure how, or why, but they have all assumed that nomenclature, while technically, the Tropics are the crystals without cyclops, and the Cyclope crystals are the ones with the cyclops. I think it's just easier for most in the Rolex collecting circles to blanket all crystals under this umbrella... And hence why it's been made a popular term to use
  15. Okay... I hate to bear bad news, but...... The dial has been delayed a bit. Looks like it might be into October before I see a prototype. I ended up exchanging emails with my dial guy last night, and apparently, the manufacturer is working very slowly. I can only hope that the delay is because they are either very busy at the moment, or because they are ensuring that the dial printing is as close to 100% correct as possible (hey, it could happen). Hope to have some news for all soon....
  16. Indeed- It would be a shame to tear that Roamer apart. Just wanted to post it for the price, as it's a very low entry fee for a Swiss Valjoux 23 these days! Anyhow... I got mine from a Nivada that a very nice forum member sold to me at a fantastic price! After an overhaul, it's running great! For me, it's the next best thing to a V72 DW
  17. To be honest, I have no idea. I know that off camera he collects Breitlings... But no idea what he wore in his shows...
  18. V23 on eBay. This would be a good candidate for a DW swap (if you have the version with the mystery movement that is). Price is about right- This is one of the lowest priced 23's I've seen in a long time...
  19. The crown on that Garfield Hydro looks spot on. Either you modded this rep, or it's no rep at all
  20. Wow... This is an oldie! Glad that this stuff is still coming in handy Cheers, R
