  1. Great post, and comparisons of the various flavors of the much famed T-39! I especially like what you did with the Helfands 39... Nice touch!
  2. Thanks, gang... This specific watch was in my hands a year ago; it belonged to a friend who sent it to me to see what I thought of it. I was very close to picking it up then, but didn't. Since then, I've been regretting it. But.... Now it's back in my hands once more. And the opportunity to buy presented itself again. Funny how fate works out Anyways... I don't think I'll let this one slip through my grasp again. It's a great looking watch, and besides... I have some plans for it At any rate... A 1675 is on my list of things to do as well...
  3. James Dowling is one of the Rolex moderators there. Sometimes, because of timezone differences (no pun intended), such items cannot be discussed in a timely manner; Dowling is in the UK; Kohei may be in a completely different part of the world, and hence, by the time the matter is discussed, it could be too late anyways with the watch sold. Therefore, if a posting violates any other rule or policy of the trading forum (as this one clearly has), then they'll remove it on the grounds of the evident violation, and not the technical one that needs to be reviewed and determined.
  4. Are you looking for the red center seconds hand?
  5. The Ofrei is overpriced in my opinion. I was, at one point picking up genuine Rolex inserts for less money...
  6. I have a gen insert installed on mine... And it glows under the sun (as it should, since it's lumed from R*lex)...
  7. Odd... I was expecting some tools in the mix as well... Great collection, Bob! Nice divers and sports! Cheers, R
  8. Ahhhh... But you're going for that vintage look anyways, though! That strap on your 3646 project does look amazing!! Indeed... W does have some great straps for the money... Nice and thick...
  9. Is it a light surface scratch (i.e. hair line), or has it cut into the metal? If you can post a pic, that would be very helpful!
  10. Well, I must admit that I do like the RB II much better than the JPM... But the JPM has just never done it for me.
  11. Okay... So, of those of you who have spent $150+ on a new strap... How many of you were hesitant to wear it when you first got it? I know I was reluctant to put any bends or creases in the leather when I rec'd my NOS Pre-V... If it were already used, then it would be different.
  12. Great work! The case mods look excellent!!
  13. Not perfect? Looks pretty damn near perfect to me! Excellent work!
  14. Wow... Like night and day difference! The dial really makes for the biggest change, but the right crown/tube, case details etc. all add up as well. Looks great! I'm sure Arthur will be pleased
  15. No offence meant to TOG owners, JTB
  16. Okay, maybe the idea of people getting their own LE's is a bit ridiculous, but it does set AP apart from the others in the big three. However, I tend to think that the majority of LE's are all a bit overdone- The JPM and Rubens B I and II are in my opinion, borderline tacky/gimmicky. The only thing I like about the RBII's are the partially skeletoned dials. Come to think of it, the only 'themed' LE that is tied somewhat remotely to someone's name that I think I really liked was the EOD...
  17. I myself have EL's YM... As for dials... I'm told that the prototype may be coming around on the 20th.
  18. Movement spacer looks great. And you know how I feel about that crystal! But the dial... Well, it's not to my taste, but that's not important. It's what you like that counts!
  19. Genuine 1665 dial fits the MBW 1665 fine. The genuine 1680 dial requires a slight trim to fit the MBW 1680.
  20. Most likely so... As the stem diameter will be much smaller for an ETA. Oh, also forgot... You'll need new hands too- Specifically 90/150/25 (which might be difficult to source), as well as some sort of solution to cap/cover the center seconds.
  21. Don't see why not- The Radiomir 8 Days has an Asian auto in it. All you need is one really big spacer Oh, and perhaps a slightly deeper caseback to accomodate the rotor...
  22. What's wrong with Jay-Z being an ambassador to the brand?
  23. Technically, from what I understand, Cortebert was actually absorbed by Omega in the 70's; since Omega is part of the Swatch/Hayek empire, that would make sense...
