Open up the diver's extension on the clasp. At the end of the extension, where it connects to the clasp, you'll see that it is held in place with a springbar. If you'll notice, on the side of the clasp, there are a series of holes along the edge. You can move the springbar accordingly along the holes to either micro size up or down accordingly in 2mm - 3mm increments.
Hope this helps.

Mine follow the curve of the lug, but because the springbars in mine are bent (I've been too lazy to replace them), they sink down. I can push them up flush...
3pc SEL
Yup. Better than that one. Mine is also 3-pc. AND the correct size/shape. The two outer pieces of the SEL should be significantly shorter than the length of the lug...
Compared to genuine
Hmmm... The bezel looks odd to me. Notice how much material there is from the insert to the edge:
Compare it here...
My money is on the actual bezel being too large, and not the insert, per se
Gen dials will fit TW cases; the old CN cases were different (dials were too big). So, if you wanted to fit a CN dial into a TW Best case, it would have to be trimmed to fit
But, I'm with you, MD. A 5513 would be an excellent way to go!
PN's are closer to $80k Over $100k for the 18k examples... Standard 6263's are the in $18k to $30k range (depending on condition, complete packages, etc).
But.... Perhaps one could inherit such a vintage piece! Much like I 'inherited' this one from my great 'uncle' DW!
And, the 16520's were $6k retail when new... Certainly within the means of many at the time...
I think the water and soap eliminates the excess oil... There should be some residual oil left over in the links to keeps things moving nice and smooth.
Well... Mine is a 3646 Radiomir 'homage' with a watchmaster dial. I built mine before any of the current 3646's were out, so I had no choice except to use the 45mm Blackseal case. No biggie anyways... The 45mm is about as big as I can really go in terms of size.
Currently waiting for a thick plexi crystal for it... Still trying to decide if I want the vintage hands or not. I never wear it, but since it's one of the first pieces I built, it has some sentimental value to me...
As for the genuine- The 3646 Radiomirs were motivated by Rolex/Cortebert movements. So... There is still a bit of Rolex relation in these watches
