  1. I was looking at the hands... On the gen, I think the subsidiary and center seconds hands are white? Is that correct?
  2. Looks like an interesting basis to start with. But it will still take quite a lot of time and money sourcing the right parts to finish it.
  3. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry139303 But, I know very little about these. What do the IWC experts think about this one?
  4. The 50th Anniversary is an interesting piece... And I must agree- I prefer it in all stainless vs. the genuine TT or Rolesor variants. Only think I don't like about the ss rep is the rehaut engraving. Swap the dial/movement out with a standard Sub case to eliminate that clutter and you have a very nice watch.
  5. rocket and I got to see and handle this Santos in person while TT was in town on business. I must say... This is an unbelievable watch! Truly incredible, and a nice solid feel to it! Very substantial weight, and that bezel is amazing!
  6. Asian 21j hands unfortunately won't fit. Completely different sized pinions...
  7. Thank you all for the very kind words! I myself must admit that I'm not a huge YG kind of guy... But, this watch is so subtle that the gold accents work really well! Especially with the movement... I just love it! As for size... This one measures a little larger than 36mm without the crown. Here is a comparison shot with some others in the same size range. The Nautilus is somewhere between 37mm and 38mm, while the Royal Oak is 36mm across the 9/3 axis. The appearance of size greatly depends on the measurement from lug to lug as well... Still working on the photography... Some shots turn out nicely, while others are still left to be desired
  8. Indeed! I would have got some snacks ready for the show!
  9. Unfortunately, a V72 won't fit the DW cases originally equipped with mystery movements without modification to the case That's why the V23 is a great 1:1 swap for these. However... If you have a V72 case, the V72 is perfect...
  10. Those bridges are very nice... But for the price, I don't think it's worth buying since it's going to be hidden behind a caseback for most, if not all of it's life.
  11. I believe the swap can be done- For one, the 2892 and 2824 are closely related in terms of design. I believe the 2892 was based on 2824 designs... Though it is a slight bit thinner than it's predecessor. Also... If memory serves right, I believe Ruo has done a number of 1120 swaps into rep cases...
  12. Stem from the 21j Asian noobmriner won't work, as the square keyless works boss is completely different. An ETA 28xx specific stem will need to be used. Should only be a couple bucks for a pack of 2 or 3... As for hands... When searching on eBay, be very careful and pay close attention to the Tudor hands being offered. Usually, the back end of the seconds hand is too short...
  13. cheiftang- The 2836 and 2824 are different in terms of thickness and stem placement. With regards to stem location, I found this out when trying to build my franken-datejust using a genuine case. The 2836 wouldn't line up, but the 2824 fit perfect! So, for the TW Best... I would suggest the 2836, as that is what those came equipped with originally. Winding stem should be a tap 10- Crown will be a tap 10. I would take this oppotunity to add a genuine crown and tube as that will make for a huge difference in function, feel and aesthetics. cheiftang covered everything else with regards to hands, insert, etc.
  14. Well... Not exactly what I meant... I'd like to know how the pushers physically engage their respective functions? i.e. did they make some sort of extension to engage the functions from the opposite side of the case?
  15. Looks great! Obviously, the movement is flipped in the case... I wonder how the pushers engage the stopwatch function/reset since they're now on the opposite side??
  16. Pure fantasy.... The 1680 only had solid color inserts...
  17. My most recent purchase... A unique 1/1 Omega Skeleton Constellation- 913 edition! . Received today, I simply can't take my eyes off of it! I'm so elated by it that I had to snap some pics to share... Another one to add to my small collection of keepers...
  18. Glad I kept my all original 165-024... Perhaps it's time to put it in the ol' safe deposit box...
  19. If you have a mid-90's Sub, open 6's/9's are otay! The closed fonts started appearing around '96/'97 during the T - U serial transition if I recall correct... I'll have to confirm in my notes.
  20. Nice! Very nice! Welcome to the club...
  21. This one is actually a bit smaller- 37mm - 38mm across the 9:00/3:00 axis excluding crown. It wears smaller than my Royal Oak which is 36mm across, but much longer lug to lug. I've really grown to love this watch...
  22. Considering the lack of patina on the surfaces of the bridges and plates, as well as the seller's other items, I would agree that it is a reproduction/replication. What's interesting to me is that there are some jewels present while others are not. I wonder what the story is behind this?
  23. NICE watch, Kostas!! I dig those hands....
