  1. Probably because factories use what they have in front of them in their trays. When one batch of parts run out, they start on the next, and there is no guarantee that they are the same, or better (or worse for that matter). Also... For what it's worth, 20mm springbars will have a total measurement of 22mm to 23mm end to end, as the ends must extend a bit further out to engage in the lug holes. Perhaps some factories don't pay attention to such measurements, or perhaps they use a lesser product (i.e. 21.5mm in length, weak spring, etc). Fact of the matter is... Sometimes the QC isn't what we'd like it to be...
  2. Here is a pic of a genuine Rolex springbar for the solid lug cases (20mm lugs)... Very sturdy... Very tight spring. No slipping with these guys!
  3. Is she? The big boobied hooker formerly known as Jordan?
  4. Nah... They probably don't ever remember who came in and when anyways.
  5. I think Jordan's knockers are TOO big... A slight reduction by a cup size or two, and that pair would be just right...
  6. Some of my favorite designs were from the 70's... Royal Oak Nautilus 222 Ingenieur
  7. 14mm is correct. Just measured my Daytona clasp, and from outside edge to edge it's 16mm. Subtract 1mm from each side measuring inside the clasp, and you have the 14mm measurement.
  8. The typical... On the left wrist: ...And on the right...
  9. 'Custom' dial... Tells you plenty right there.
  10. Build a complete watch, and you can sell it for $8k to $12k
  11. I see no reason why a watch equipped with a Swiss ETA, regularly serviced, can't or won't last for many, many years. The Swiss ETA 2671/2824/2836/2846/2892 are all fairly simple time and date... No real complications, and fairly common to see in many of the pricey brands as well. Oddball movements like the modified Asian 7750's (i.e. the ones with sec @ 6:00) are, of course a different story...
  12. V- You'll want a 2824 for a genuine case... 2836 doesn't fit properly...
  13. Personally, I prefer the script font on davidsen's dial over genuine. It's much crisper and more defined.
  14. Personally speaking, I think Ming Thien has some great photog skills (and some nice composition as well). I also think fast freddy has some excellent photo skills too...
  15. Always love seeing pics of this one!!
  16. How about a little recap to compare... I might add that v2.0 is still rough... But the date font size and boldness are looking good!
  17. I'm just some guy who tests these things out on my personal subjects. But... I think we're getting closer and closer. The true mastermind behind the project has made some major breakthroughs... Needless to say, based on what I've seen, I'm quite optimistic. For now... A glimpse of v2.0, which has silently made a few appearances. v3.0 is, I suspect, where the soup will be. Hopefully soon... I'm an eager beaver to see proper date fonts on me vintage favorites.
  18. Spoke with my dial guy... According to him, the indicies are not correct. So... A bit longer of a wait. Sorry guys... With custom made stuff, that's the way it goes. A lot of back and forth until things are up to snuff...
  19. Hey Tribal... I'm moving in also. Hope you have the extra space! I'll bring my parts boxes....
  20. Ended early.... Wonder what the story is behind that?
  21. I have an inquiry in at the moment... As mentioned prior... Any news I get will be passed on here. Thanks, R
