  1. Since I handle all the finances in the house, there's really no need to sneak anything... But, I did make an agreement with my wife (which I initially suggested) that any watch or watch related purchases will be made from an account specifically for such things. If I have no funds in the account, I do what I can to raise money to fund it... Or just save until I have enough for what I need. It's my way of trying to maintain self discipline with my watch spending habits.
  2. I believe it to be the same actual watch... The only difference is that Neil hand picks his and runs some extra QC prior to selling...
  3. Most models up to the '03 F serial had holes for the springbars, but there are some exceptions; 16622's never had lug holes 16520's never had lug holes Presidentials never had lug holes And, one to go against the grain... 14060's (including current /M's) ALWAYS have lug holes (and never had SELs).
  4. Tourbillon is right... Look at the placement of the gears and the balance. Looks like a 6497 to me....
  5. Oooh... That is one SWEET Daytona!!
  6. Kurt- The watch in the pic is a genuine 5517... So, it's equipped with genuine hands Cheers, R
  7. Great breakdown and review! The bracelet and dial on the noobmariner are so good that I decided to use them in my 16610 frankenstein... http://www.rwg.cc/members/uploads/remoteim...31011-19253.jpg http://www.rwg.cc/members/uploads/remoteim...31011-19254.jpg For the money, the complete watch is a bargain... But the dial and bracelet especially stand out on this watch.
  8. I might have one... For a 7750. Genuine for 4030/4130 will not fit.
  9. Anyone know where I can find a Polfy Inflatable-Pool-Mariner?
  10. Joe- My posting is merely to collect objective data- i.e. facts regarding orders/work pending, primarily so that the membership has an idea of backlog etc. It is not an attack on you- Hence my comment: Thanks, R
  11. This thread is being initiated to get a idea of how many pending watches there are amongst our members here waiting for work from rbj69, aka redbigjoe69. Please state number of watches, and indicate how long your watch(es) have been pending return to you. Please note- This is only a thread to gain an idea of how many members have outstanding orders, and the length of time those item(s) have been pending. Please refrain from any comments regarding rbj, positive or negative, as this is for objective data only. Mods- If you feel this is inappropriate, please delete. Okay... I'll go first. 1 watch- An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Pending since 28-JAN-2006
  12. BTW- If anyone is interested... Here is an old 7mm Twinlock for sale on eBay. $130 will win you this gem. Twinlock. The only thing you'll need to find is the tube
  13. Foul play does indeed seem suspiscious...
  14. First thing's first- Stick the watch in a baggie with silica and leave the crown open/unthreaded. This will help absorb the moisture. Once completed, take the watch to a watchsmith to have them presure test it. This should help identify where the problem is. It could be the crystal, or a gasket, but a water tester will indicate the location of the leak by the bubbles of pressurized air escaping. Once the leak is identified, the problem can be addressed... Best of luck.
  15. Bazz- That is a great write up on resetting the clutch/keyless works on the ETAs! It's great contributions like these that make the forums so great! Best, R
