  1. You CAN have the best of both worlds... deep rehaut... and thick crystal... (the top one, not the bottom ) This one past the AD's scrutiny while he pawed over my watch whilst I tried on others from the show case
  2. The rehaut is one of the things that I'm particular about, too... The pearl and insert are two other things I'm picky about. Minute details? Perhaps... But I just chalk it up to OCD
  3. By 'outstanding', I mean anything long term pending, overdue, etc. I hope that is clear enough.
  4. Yes... That is what I had intended this thread to be. Outstanding orders/work/issues only. Anything that has already been delivered upon need not apply. Edit to add- You don't have to be unhappy about the situation to post here. Personally, I myself am indifferent about my watch and the situation. Not [censored], not upset about it. Just kinda meh. I have other watches to keep me busy... But, I did want to get a neutral thread started on the subject to get a general consensus.
  5. Indeed. I cannot emphasize enough that this is not a negative post in any way. Just wanted to get a pulse on where things currently stand.
  6. Yeah... That seems about right. I've had anywhere from 42 to 47 hours PR from a full wind on a 6497...
  7. Last albums I bought of his were Room For Squares and Heavier Things. His newer stuff just isn't the same (in my opinion)...
  8. Neil- I thought all the 21j Asian Subs originated from the same factory?
  9. Doubtful that anyone will want to come forward, as they probably fear being blacklisted, or feel that they will risk not getting their watch. Fair enough...
  10. Wow... VERY nice! This is one of those watches where only the genuine will do. It's history, and significance makes this one a classic. Congrats on your pruchase!
  11. NICE bike! Buddy of mine had one a few years back... His was a funky green. I don't know much about motorcycles, but I know I LOVED that bike!
  12. My opinion.... Keep the restoration sympathetic... Light cleaning. That would be the purist answer...
  13. Bob- Indicies should be slightly raised, but flat is ideal. The puffy's are a result of tritium swelling, which is common in older vintage watches. For what it's worth- Most of the 6536's/38's I see are puffy...
  14. Nah... I do that on every Rolex genuine crown swap I've done. Never had one break loose.
  15. The first one is a $10 canal street fake, which is turning his wrist green. That's why he looks like he's about to start crying!
  16. Don't forget- If you offset the lug holes when drilling (to sit more in-board), you also offset the springbar's location. As such... A bracelet with an SEL may no longer fit correctly...
  17. My first... from river My second... from river Note... Pics are pre-granite days
  18. It can be done... Here is my TW Best GMT with lugs drilled...
  19. Loc-Tite should be sufficient for installing the stem to the crown. Just a small dab on the threads...
  20. I think David's still an active member on some of the forums...
  21. Really doesn't make much difference. Since the rep is still very close visually to last year's model, one could just say... 'it's last year's model'!
  22. Ooooh! New is very nice! But, I also like the old... That dial on the 91 was so schwing!
