  1. W- Sure I can sell it to you... Just let me go visit the AD so I can pick it up for you So, now that you mention it, maybe hazing does have it's place... Think of it as a riff raff filter. I like it!
  2. Yup... It works great for hairlines. But don't use it on gold or pated surfaces!
  3. ekhunter... My thoughts exactly, and I cannot agree more. There are pages upon pages of valuable information contained here, and the other forums as well. And, as long as you have access to the Internet, not one bit of it costs a cent to read. We all started as noobies at one point. We all did our fair share of reading, asking questions, and also contributing to the forum. I have no problem helping people with questions, and whatever else I can provide (I think I even helped you out, crystal cranium, with a movement, sent to you free of charge). But people also need to take the initiative and put it upon themselves to at least make an effort to research their interests (and not expect an answer handed to them on a silver platter). After all... This is also what being a forum is all about, and why we have things like the Photo Gallery, Dealer Review, archives of history and so forth, to provide information on who carries what product, the kind of experiences we've all had, etc. As someone who has been around for a while (not nearly as long as some of the veterans), I had to start somewhere as well. I had to do my own research on things. I had to establish my sources for parts, and I had to learn a lot of the things that I know now the expensive and hard way (sometimes this is the only way for someone like me to learn). Now, this is not aimed at the original poster... As I'm really just bantering on... And perhaps venting a little, as I just emptied out my PM Inbox not so long ago, consisting of message after message of questions asking for help on things. Most of it is stuff that I am glad to help on; but a lot of PMs also get rather demanding with questions, inquiries for parts (I am not a dealer), who do I get this from, who do I get that from, sell me this, sell me that etc. And to make matters worse, Some will even go so far as to send me a follow up PM just a few hours later asking if I got the last one, and so on and so forth. So... Yeah, it's a little frustrating. Don't mean to take it out on anyone... And this is not aimed at anyone directly. Just a vent. To close... I really don't mind helping people out. If you have a question, I'll do my bst to answer. But, if you get demanding... Or if you feel that I'm not answering your question fast enough... Please don't expect a response.
  4. You can also buy cobalt bits, 1.3mm etc. a la carte from Snap-On...
  5. To be fair... You can obtain a repainted dial on a genuine Singer blank fairly easily... But, it won't be considered genuine, and definitely won't be original. But, for a rep... Probably good enough
  6. I have a few parts here and there... A very moddest parts box...
  7. It's been a good year for the IWC's!
  8. Pure fantasy. There are some double signed dials out there, and for the right price, you can even have your existing dial printed with an additional logo on it (if you can find the space). If the watch was genuine Rolex, the additional printing wouldn't be sanctioned, and if you sent the watch in for service, Rolex would probably refuse to seervice until you agreed to let them install a new dial on it. But sure, anything is possible
  9. The 93150 is a loose end link; 580's are folded ends...
  10. You will not find a genuine Paul Newman Exotic dial for less than $10k US. That's right.... That's the dial only. What's more.... You will probably never see it on eBay as it would never have the opportunity to surface there. Serious collectors of genuines are actively seeking these dials, nd if the dial is right, are willing to pay obscene amounts of cash for one. There are also people who use the dials to convert standard 6263's into PN's to unscroupulously increase the value of their watches (sometimes as much as 3x - 4x their value; standard 6263's typically sell in the $18k to $25k range, BTW). You will most likely find a standard 6263 dial on the market, but those usually sell for quite a lot as well ($5k+ for good condition original dial)
  11. An excellent choice! Any mods planned?
  12. Oh, I agree with you- That insert missing the pearl does look like it's been... err... 'helped' along in it's aged appearance. Perhaps it's someone's failed attempt at a vintagized insert? The wax envelope with the ref number written on it is also a bit odd...
  13. Paris. For sure. You can get her a PP24 rep anytime.
  14. What's incredible is how many times you ask people 'where is possible to buy this watch', when the original poster had disclosed the source of his/her watch in the thread they had written! That is clearly not even reading the information provided. Sorry if you feel I am beeing rude, but it's a little frustrating to see you posting things like this when it's very clear that you have not given much effort into finding the answer you are looking for.
  15. I may have to give one a try... Thanks MG!!
  16. BTW... For insert aging, there are some creative ways of obtaining certain appearances. Bleach is but one method, and not very creative, but it does turn out some interesting results... I did one for Jetsons that faded from black to a very nice chocolate brown...
  17. It looks like it's been sanded on... But, I know of some owners of genuine vintage Rolex's who also try to duplicate the look of age (it's not just us...).
  18. Holy smokes... You could read a book in the dark with that one on!
  19. Looks fantastic M. I know that on paper, this is the same size as, say a Submariner, but how does it compare in size aesthetically? I'm guessing the Domino appears and wears bigger than a typical Rolex Sub since the dial and crystal takes up the entire face of the watch...? At any rate... I'm gonna have to get me one. It looks great!
  20. Man... What a buzz kill. Buy a new watch, wear it for a day and then you have to send it off for warranty work. Kinda puts the whole 'You get higher quality with gens' theory that the WIS are always using into perspective, eh?
  21. J- Rolex crystals are cupped- Hollowed back with a lip that seats to the case: Still haven't obtained any calipers... Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to make it to the hardware store. I may just order some online...
