  1. Hi fellfell. For the Daytonas... I have found that the only way to get a good one is to build it from parts. It is very expensive, yes... But the result is more than worth the effort, and for the 6263 and 16520, it is very possible to find parts, as they are not all proprietary Rolex. For the 16520 El Primero- You need a good case. In my project, I was lucky enough to find a genuine case, which fits the movement perfect. I am not sure if there are good aftermarket cases available- I have sen some things that would indicate these exist, but I have yet to see one. The next step is to get the dial, hands, and a good El Primero movement, which can be found on eBay, but sometimes you'll need to use a donor watch to take the movement from. For a 6263, it is best to start with a DW, or to obtain a V72 case kit, which can sometimes be found on eBay. Usually the case kits will have almost everything you need, except the movement and dial (though each set differs; check the description of the contents prior to deciding on a purchase if you go this route). From here, you will need to obtain a dial and movement, and assemble. Or, you can get a pre-made DW with a V23 copy movement, and install some gen parts on it. I myself went with a complete DW, and swapped the copy movement for a genuine Swiss Valjoux 23 movement. So, short answer... If you want a good Daytona, it's best to build it using high quality parts (or genuine parts when you can find and purchase those items). Difficult? Yes. But not impossible! Hope this helps... Best, R
  2. Indeed. I do believe that the dial on the Great White is the most correct out of the lot. I'd stick with that one vs. sourcing a gen (unless it's a Rail dial...) BTW... I've got some feelers out for the 16660 dial. Might be a while before I hear back from any. That is a hard one to source!
  3. Don't worry... It gets better! Until the day comes along when you have to wake them up for school... Haven't been there yet myself, but I remember when I was the one being woken up for school!
  4. Heehee... Just saw this, and I honestly hadn't even realized I even crossed the powermax threshold!! I guess I've done a lot of post-whoring, eh? I am honoured, to be amongst the presence of each and every one of you... My dear friends, and RWG family! Thanks for having me... Best, R
  5. Nope... That's how I feel about the hobby too. Much more fun to build your watches than to simply buy them
  6. Actually, I think I saw these on Jos' site the other day, under the new items section... I could be wrong, but they looked like ladies' sized Breit's...
  7. Very good question... I am not sure, to be honest. Technically, the 'Tropic' crystals are the crystals without datemag, and the 'Cyclope' crystals are the ones with. However... All Rolex acrylic crystals are termed Tropic as it's just easier to group them all under this description. I do agree though... Tropic does sound very exotic, and very intriguing. Rolex has, and has always had some great marketing people...
  8. I can assure you... It is not inkjet The printing is a bit rough... But we are working on this
  9. The 1665 MBW with white font dial is quite possibly one of the more accurate dials for the vintage range (in my opinion).
  10. This one is quite nice, too... Not familiar with the Breguet line, but it looks great!
  11. I could probably contribute to that cause
  12. The ligne a measurement in use before the metric system was adopted. I believe the conversion is 1mm = 0.45L?
  13. Very cute, Pho!! Enjoy every second with your baby boy... They grow up faster than you can imagine!
  14. However, your post states 'sticking to the trusted dealers'. My post is clarifying for anyone not familiar with DW that he is a trusted dealer, though not an active dealer on the forums. Nothing more, nothing less, and quite clear.
  15. I say it's a hit! davidsen's stuff is fantastic!
  16. Indeed, the Royal Oak is after the Royal Oak (as in the HMS Royal Oak).
  17. I just remove the hoops in the end links all together. If you think about it, they really don't do a whole lot... And I've never had any problems with the hoops missing...
  18. Remember guys... It's just the prototype It looks a bit rough now... But we're working on that! BTW- I cannot take the credit for the hard work on these... I'm merely just showing what's in the works
  19. I am only clarifying DW in the matter. I am fully aware that vlaetom did not buy direct from DW (though he was lead on to believe otherwise...)
  20. Although DW is not an active dealer on the forums, I can 100% confirm that he is NOT a scammer or dishonest dealer in any way shape or form. I have had numerous transactions with DW with each one successful, and delivered as promised.
  21. Wow... I am speechless. Beyond words.... Tom- I am very sorry to hear about your situation But, there most certainly appears to be foul play about....
  22. And here is what the project is based off of... As promised... There is more to come. This is just a tiny taste for now...
  23. It's a prototype piece to check overall fit and function. Fine details are being addressed, pressed, smoothed and ironed out, but I can assure the following: -Flat Top 3's -Closed '6' on the 26 -Large, Bold font -Date rotation in the correct direction And there's even more in store beyond that. Finally... The vintage freaks will have the correct date font for our 1680's/1665's/1675's/1655's...
