  1. Well, the one on the left is a true, genuine T-39 Superdome. The crystal only rises a little above the bezel, but then has a very severe dome that rises much higher than the flat T-39. The Superdomes are quite rare, so if you do happen to land one of those (and you don't want it), please be sure to post it for sale on the forum I am certain someone will most definitely want it For all the rest... You can get the flat T-39's pretty easily still. They range in price from $100 to $200. They pop up from time to time from well known eBay'ers, and my supplier can usually get them as well (though his price is on the upper end of the scale). Just ask for the non-Superdome T39 As an alternative, Helfands makes a near exact clone of the flat 39; only difference is that theirs does not have the slight bevel at the edge of the crystal.
  2. Here is a comparison I did of T-39's. On the left is the Superdome I installed on XRT's 1665, and on the right is the flat 39 installed on my white font 1665...
  3. Shallow rehaut... Funny how we obssess about these things...
  4. Hey guys... I'm not certain what size or p/n these gaskets are The envelope I found them in was unmarked, and I have no idea where or how I came into them. I do suspect that they are a caseback gasket of some sort... I can measure one the next time I have one of my MBW's taken apart
  5. Now that's a beauty! I love it! My favorite Omega in my collection (well, the only one I have, really...). All original from 1967.
  6. W- Fantastic! I love 'em! But.... I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know
  7. rocket, You seem to know quite a few of the hot spots, so I vote to let you have final say...
  8. Just rec'd this on Friday. Here is the watch as I rec'd it- Completely stock and untouched. Will be doing a few mods to it in the coming weeks/months. I was never really very warm on this watch (either rep or gen), but I must admit that it's grown on me a bit since I rec'd it. It's a very nice design with subtle bling. I initially purchased this watch as a relative of mine has shown interest in it. I figured I could pick one up, do a few mods, install a custom dial which is in the works, and see how it turns out. I may just have to keep this one for myself Please excuse the quality of photos. I was going to remove the noise from the images, but editing it out also removed the speckled surface of the dial
  9. Just saw that as well. Pretty sweet deal for those wanting to bulk up on PAMs! How does this work with customs? Aren't multiple watches shipped in one parcel a bit of a red flag for that sort of thing? I usually only buy one watch at a time, so I have no idea how this works out...
  10. Not the same dial that I was working on... But Andrew's looks pretty damn nice! I'll have to see how the one my guy is working on turns out... One thing of interest... Those CG's appear to be of correct shape; i.e. they angle in at the case. Might be just my eyes... But it looks great!
  11. I was digging through my spare parts today and came across some gaskets in an envelope. I almost threw them out when I remembered a perfect use for them. Got out the 1680 and 1665, pulled the bezels and rings off and added the missing gaskets (MBW's come without this gasket, so it's a nice addition)
  12. You need a new case clamp. You can get one from most any of the supply houses for a dollar or two...
  13. Watch modding is not to everyone's taste. But neither is buying genuines. I started with genuines, and quickly got bored of them. But, there's not much to them. After all, anyone can walk into an AD, throw down ridiculous amounts of money, and have a nice gen, but where's the fun in that? Modding and building is far more interesting to me, and makes the hobby much more enjoyable. But, I can't expect everyone to understand that.
  14. Dial side up Profile mug shots Genuine inserts- New vs. Old pearls On the wrist Diver's extensions A fun pair to have. Thanks for looking... R
  15. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1) Genuine day/date wheels will be very pricey and difficult to find. 2) You'll need to have a Swiss ETA 7750 in your watch to exchange day/date wheels. If you have an Asian 7750, the parts are not interchangeable.
  16. Yup. Genuine parts ain't cheap.
  17. Holy smokes... Those movements are incredible!!
  18. Hmmmm... That's a good question. Usually, the dial holds the hour pinion down with some pressure from the washer spring that sits between the dial and hour wheel. I suppose it would be possible for the minute hand to hold the hour pinion on. Dunno what, if any, detrimental impact it would have on the pinion or minute hand. seems it would work to me?
  19. Mmmmm... Ollie's. Haven't been there in a very long time. I like that idea...
  20. Rocket- How about some place in Cherry Creek?
  21. I think the issue with the 1165xx's with mod 7750's is more of an issue on WHEN they will fail, not a question of if. The extra gears and wheels add a lot of resistance to the original gear train... Imagine a Toyota Corolla motor in a Yukon Denali body, pulling another car up a mountain pass with 7 passengers inside. That would be the equivalent in my perspective. The problem is likely with any movement- New Asian 7750, old 7750 B1, Swiss 7750, etc. And since parts are not exactly easy to get for this bastardized movement, the issue of repair becomes a problem if new parts are needed, especially if it's to replace one of the added parts to shift subdial output. Having owned a number of these models myself in the past, I've had more problems than success with these movements. To date... I own none, and it will most likely remain that way. The only way I'll own a 116520 is if I ever decide to buy the gen, or if I'm able to get my hands on a genuine 4130 to build another frankenstein like the El Primero.
