  1. What about restricting visibility to certain areas of the forum to paying/supporting members only? Like the trading section? This leaves some areas to be open/free, while other areas that are more focused on selling/trading are by membership only? Kind of like restricting the ability to post in the trading section to supporters only, except taking it a step further?
  2. Genuine Triplock crown and tube is one of the best upgrades you can make. I do this upgrade on all of my Sports Rolex... The difference in feel and function is a huge, noticable improvement.
  3. Good stuff Chris. Very accurate and thorough info. However... Might I suggest using a handle for the razor blades when removing the retaining rings? Much easier on the hands Excellent write up! Best, R
  4. Good stuff. Glad to hear you got this one done. The satisfaction of doing the job yourself is more than worth it
  5. Just gotta work that razor in there... Once you get it going, the retaining ring will lift... Before you know it, it will be off... Press the new crystal on... And press the ring back on... And you're set.
  6. One thing you should be aware of- The insert you linked to is not original/genuine; rather, it is generic aftermarket. I've installed genuine inserts before. You have to modify them, but fitting them is absolutely possible. Now, finding a genuine LV insert is another story...
  7. WIS MADE... I like that! I'll make that addition on the next go around (i.e. when I find my paint pen)...
  8. Who knows. Hard to say. There may be several factories that exist, but aren't public knowledge for obvious reasons. The watches we purchase from our dealers may have all come form different factories of assembly, but the point of origin of individual parts and components may have been sourced from the same vendors...
  9. Yikes... Look at that position of the crown relative to the bezel. That's a lot of gap/recess!
  10. Great to see you back, K! Looks like a very fun time...
  11. Hmmmm... Interesting. Hollow link... 571 ends... Just add your own clasp, and you're good. Have you ordered one yet, Bob?
  12. I'd love to have a Pilot Chrono. If they make this one.... I'll have no choice but to get it
  13. Is there an all black/coramid rep of this velcro band yet? I thought it was the yellow/black only (I'd love to have the coramid).
  14. If the end links are old and worn, they may either have the appearance of being collpased, or very, very loose with a large gap between the end link inner edge and case.
  15. Because that's just how they are on the 1680's... Genuine 1680 Seriously, I suspect the thicker crystal is to achieve more resistance from deeper underwater depths. The height of the crystal- The portion that rises up above the bezel is solid acrylic. Pretty serious stuff...
  16. I think it's perfect for those of us who want a vintage looking Radiomir, but prefer to have the smaller 45mm case (because the 47mm is just way too large...)
  17. Any custom made case is going to be expensive and difficult to source. If it wasn't... Everyone would be doing it. I've been through this, in and out many, many times. There is a reason why I don't own a 116520 Daytona rep... And why I won't buy a 116520 rep. There is no way to do the case with the mod-7750 right. If it can't be done right... I don't want it.
  18. Sure... You can easily remove the rotor to make it manual wind. But, if you're going to the trouble of fitting it to a genuine case, you still have the problem of having... An Asian 7750 based movement, with wrong pusher positioning, and stem not aligning properly with the tube. If you're going to use a genuine case, it deserves a better movement that actually fits properly (in my opinion).
  19. I have one for you. PM me your address. I'll drop it in the mail to you...
  20. Seems to be the norm for this one. Had an SS white dial sometime back. Same deal...
  21. Welcome back! This place is just not the same without you!!
  22. Should work. Only way to know for sure is to try installing it. But as long as you have a 7205, you have the correct bracelet at least (which is indeed quite skinny). End links may vary; the 60 endlinks were, I believe from a 1500 or 5500 (I could be wrong as I'm going by memory...).
  23. Just to reiterate- I'm not the one accepting orders. I have no affiliation with the seller, and am only a collector. Any transactions will be between you and the dial maker.
