  1. The immediate one for me is the datewindow location... And then the size of the hour hand tube as it is significantly larger due to the 7750, which has a very large hour wheel tube. Looking at the 5th pic in the auction, the crown is not offset from the pushers...
  2. Yep... Sold the 6265 privately. The only Daytona I have left in the collection is my white dial 16520...
  3. I think you need to press Nah-Piek a little further on what they have, as they don't actually display the good stuff from what I understand.
  4. I thought the official 'old man' watch was the 18k yellow gold Day-Date?
  5. They should have all called each other to coordinate what they were going to wear before going to pick up their watches. At least then they could have all matched their outfits while matching their pose!
  6. Well, I guess I'm at somewhat of a crossroads with this project. I've been sitting on these parts for close to a year now... I've had several opportunities to finish it, but somehow I always end up finding somethng else to do instead (i.e. my motivation for this project has virtually been non-existant). I can finish it up... But since I already have a dive Rolex with He Valve, I feel as though a 1665 is... Redundant? I dunno... Maybe it's time to just finish it up. Or... Maybe I'll contemplate it just a bit further while I work on something else in the meantime... No idea why I've been dragging my feet. Perhaps it's because the initiation of the project began with the dial finding me, instead of vice versa... //ubi
  7. Probably. Just remember to mask off the lugs...
  8. You need a decent case knife to remove the bezel. And here's a gen bezel for reference:
  9. I think that the size of a Sub (height and width) is classic. I can wear mine anywhere for anything and it never looks inappropriate or out of place. Very versatile...
  10. Apparently, Google also examines the pictures I attach to emails to send to friends. On one set of pics that I sent (with no message body and a subject that only referenced the watch), the side bar of relevant links and ads in gmail had two or three listings for granite counter tops and the sort. Kinda creepy...
  11. All really depends on condition, pearl, etc. Last good insert I picked up was for $200...
  12. Keep in mind that to achieve the look and function of the genuine 4130/116520 Daytona, the A7750 movement is fitted with a number of new gears that relocate the functions of the subdials. The biggest concern is the running seconds, which is a constant running subdial and the fact that the pivot is not sitting in a jeweled bearing means that failure is likely. You could have a jewel installed for the pivot, though others have had their movement plates either augmented with graphite powder or treated to a DLC coating to help with longevity.
  13. There's not much in the way of options for movement transplants into the A7750 seconds at 6:00 Daytona (116520 replication) as the movement's subdial positions are slightly different than the standard tri-compax layout like the 7753. If you'll notice, the 9:00 and 3:00 subdials sit slightly above the center of the dial on the modified seconds at 6:00 A7750 (i.e. if you drew a line from the 9:00 to 3:00 hour markers, the hour and minute counter sub dials sit slightly higher, closer to 10:00 and 2:00). This is unique to this specific watch. The genuine 116520/4130 has the subdials in the same positions, so the replica factories took the time to emulate this change when reconfiguring the subdial functions.
  14. Nothing wrong with having a couple of each...
  15. If bling is your thing, you gotta go Jacob&Co. Nothing says baller like a watch produced by a company whose CEO did time for money laundering Hell yeah!
  16. For grins, I swapped the deployant out for a tang buckle. Much better fit. Yeah, the buckle is PVD, but it does blend in with the gen strap...
  17. I probably have some spare 4th wheels if you need one, S. I can ship it out, free of charge... Just need to dig them out...
  18. This is all very interesting to me. I've never manually set my camera, so I have no idea what values that I'm shooting at. So, for grins, I pulled up one of my pics and looked at the EXIF data... Aperture: f/2.5 ISO: 400 Focal length: 50mm Shutter: 1/40 sec. I think I will try toying around with some of my settings to see what that nets me
