  1. Jimmy cased, FGD faced Pre-A 002 for today...
  2. Because they're more interesting (at least to me). Far more intrigue with a rep than with a gen...
  3. I do have to agree with w0lf; it's all the crystal. This is a jimmy case, so the shallow rehaut is definitely achievable. However, my crystal has a bunch of cloudy inclusions... Typical rep crystal, I guess. I need to swap to one of the newer H factory crystals methinks
  4. Ahhh... I almost bought from this seller until I looked at some large scans of the dial he was offering. Badly scratched, scraped and one corner was slightly out of shape. Ultimately, I passed on what was offered and went with watchco UK instead...
  5. Hmmmm... Maybe try uncasing the movement to see if there's resistance in winding while it's uncased? That would be the first step in troubleshooting I would do, especially if it wound fine when you initially received the movement back from your watchmaker...
  6. There's no way that the tube for this thing is going to be the same diameter as a standard 7030. The stem is the usual tap 10 size... And look how big the barrel is around the base for the stem. Compare to a 7mm: Granted, the pic is of an aftermarket 702, the sizes are the same as gen...
  7. There are a few slight differences with gen, methinks. Notably, the 'CHANEL' font on the dial should be a bit bolder than the 'J12'. Perhaps a slight difference in size/shape/color of the hour indicies? I've never really paid that much attention. Bezel shape is fairly similar, except I think the bezel teeth are a little less pronounced on the gen. A few other small details, like caseback engraving, clasp engraving and the sort are usual standard rep fare; not deep enough. Othrwise, it's a very nice piece. I've never had a gen J12 in hand to directly compare, let alone to take apart, but I think the case construction is the same: And the white ceramic links are quite nice. They have an almost opaque translucent consistency when held to the light. Mrs. Ubi is very pleased with hers. While we're on the subject of Ladies' J12's... Someone is pulling a no-no and listing a rep as gen on eBay... Item 220726991278; BIN at $3150! How do I know it's a rep? Compare their caseback with Mrs. Ubi's: Hopefully they just don't know any better...
  8. Flex, I was wondering if you could could share some background and insight on a couple of beautiful pieces I noticed the other day... Absolutely fantastic!
  9. redwatch is definitely an asset to the community!
  10. I've not had many formal style dress watches, but of the few that I have owned, this one was my favorite... The functional tourbillon made it worth the price alone...
  11. There are so many different movement variations that it would probably work best to identify a certain model you are looking at and narrow down the movement options based on that criteria.
  12. Apparently some reps will accept a gen refill... Last MB pen I had shattered when it fell to the floor...
  13. Yep, that's absolutely within reason.
  14. I'm not very well versed on MB rep pens... Are there any out there that accept genuine MB refills?
  15. Looking good, Marsu! I might have a spare link for you... Lemme look...
  16. -32 here with windchill... Considering that Sat was around 62F, it feels bitterly cold. Yesterday morning, our windows were completely iced over...
  17. Chad, Are you referring to the rehaut height?
  18. Not really relevant to the discussion, but this particular image in the auction listing made me ROFL...
