  1. Wow... I didn't realize that the crown was actually in two pieces now. I don't think I've ever seen a gen crown split like that from just setting the time. I definitely suspect a non-gen component...
  2. Indeed; I'm wondering if there is just too much friction with time setting? Though I would think that a significant amount of resistance would be necessary for the crown to just give out. Am I of the correct understanding that the clutch for the spring loaded portion is what failed? Is the crown just free spinning now?
  3. There are two links on each half of the bracelet that are removable; 4 links in total and two of which are actually the equivalent to a link and a half. Mrs. Ubi's wrist is around 5.75"; with only one normal sized removable link still present, the watch fits her dainty wrist perfect.
  4. Beautifully finished! I love it! But a bummer about the crown Are the pinions feeling tight while setting the time?
  5. Gents, Great to meet you guys last night! Had a fantastic time talking about our favorite hobby, and was fun checking out all the great toys! Well, today I arrived home from the Magic Kingdom, and I have to say that I am already missing the House of Mouse. This was an unbelievable weekend for me; it was like reliving my childhood, except better as I had the opportunity to experience the magic with my kids. I was a bit sad this morning as we set foot on the plane ride home... But the memories will last... And I know we'll be back again When we got home, a special parcel was waiting for me... My 6265, returned from it's own vacation at the Zigmeister resort, where it was treated to a full overhaul and new lease on life. And back on my wrist... And as if it couldn't get any better... It does! My friend w0lf had emailed me with some news that had me do a double take... In the best way possible. To say I am indebted would be an understatement! This has been an amazing past few days... Almost a bit surreal. I'll have Mrs. Ubi pinch me later to make sure I'm not dreaming... Cheers! //ubi
  6. All I can say is- I'm beat! Gonna hit the sack... Mrs. Ubi and the kids wanna hit the park bright and early in the a.m.! Cheers, //ubi
  7. Okey doke... I suppose the answer is clear Though I think I'll probably take my time with this one... Make it a slow build
  8. Unfortunately, the answer is no for Sec@9:00 dials; the gen movement or gen DD module has the 12:00 counter slightly lower than a 7750's 12:00 counter. For this reason alone, the subdial holes on the dial will not line up...
  9. Fantastic build! That 1016 absolutely looks the business!
  10. Nice pick up, Paul! The 24hr 1575 alone is a difficult movement to procure in it's own right.
  11. Personally, I love the WM9; fantastic watch with lots of building potential. I owned one of the early V1's, purchased directly from WM9 and modded it with gen crystal, bezel complete, crown, etc. However, the economics of such a project may be something you want to keep in mind if considering such a build. Depending on how far you go, the boundaries between franken build and pre-owned gen may become quite close. For that reason, if you are really considering a WM9 and want to add things like a gen crystal ($250 +/-), gen bezel ($400 +/-), gen dial ($300 +/-), gen bracelet ($750 +/-)... Maybe take it to the next level with a gen 3135 ($1800 +/-) to go with the gen dial and a set of gen hands... Well, you're either at the cost threshold of a used 16610 or possibly even over that figure depending on how much you pay for the individual parts and basis watch. Don't get me wrong- If you stick with the minimum of mods, it's possible to stay within 25% - 30% and still have a great watch! I suppose that's the key with such a piece; there are certainly areas where the watch would benefit upgrades and the sort, but you have to be willing to accept other aspects of the watch as-is. A lot of that depends on your level of expectation and how particular you are when it comes to such things. Because the 16610 is not a terribly expensive gen pre-owned, I often suggest the gen to anyone that seriously wants a 16610; the reps can get very close, but will never be 100%. With the cost to build one out... The math is easy
  12. Where's deltatahoe at?? I gots to meet him... I'd love to see that FM as well!
  13. J- I gotcha covered with some gen links from my 7835. I'll mail them to you as soon as I'm back from my trip...
  14. Absolutely stunning and super clean! Congrats!!
  15. That looks pretty damn good... Very nice!
  16. I would advise to just save up a little more for a good case. It may take a little longer, but in the end your project will be better off for it...
  17. Don't give up, cat! I know it's discouraging, but you're so close!
  18. wish I had a set for you; if I did, they'd be on their way to you... I guess if worse came to worst, you could always go for a set of Clark's hands? Linky
  19. Sheeeeiiiit. I paid $1100 for my V72... And another couple hundred to have it serviced!
  20. Hmmmm... Seems to me that I may be compelled to build!
