  1. Good stuff, B! Good stuff indeed!
  2. Thanks, guys I do appreciate the kind words! Heh... F333- I think you hit the nail on the head. When I've got nothing to do, I start to get fidgety, and that's usually when I start looking for projects to quench that thirst. So, the past few pieces for others have been good for me, as they kind of keep me out of trouble without starting up some sort of build of my own (regardless, I still manage to get myself into some sort of mischief). Though these days it seems as though I have anything but time on my hands *sigh*
  3. Congrats on the new acquisition, Maciek! Very nice piece!
  4. Dunno how I've managed to do so many in the past 7 months, but somehow I've done a fair share Think I kicked it all off with justasgood
  5. Thanks, gents! As with most any project, I certainly endured my fair share of hiccups along the way. I originally started with a DW case that wouldn't fit the movement (kind of a status quo issue with that case). I was going to press on with having the DW shell modified by jmb to fit the V72, but decided to opt for the Phong case instead (with some friendly persuasion from Mr. Torres). Parts were collected over the last few weeks... The plans for which were initially drawn towards the end of my 5514 project. Everything kind of just fell into place with parts, so doing this one in my spare time was fairly manageable. Now all it needs is a service to ensure longevity As per request, I'll get some pics with the 16520 up soon... Thanks again for the kind words! //ubi
  6. Dig it with the dauphine hands, J!
  7. Looks great, db! The crystal really makes a huge difference! Congrats and enjoy Cheers! //ubi
  8. Can't think of a more deserving guy! Congrats on the big day! And what a fantastic gift to commemorate the occasion!
  9. Friends, Hope everyone is doing well. Been busy with work and life; I've not had much chance to get on the forum to see what's new, but thought I'd share a recent build that I've been working on over the past few weeks This project started as more of a side project; I had picked up bits and pieces here and there but started to really gain focus once things had started to progress. So, without further adieu (and because I'm a bit constrained on time), the recipe list: -Phong 6265 case -Valjoux 72 movement -Genuine RSC service lumi dial -Genuine RSC service lumi hands -Genuine 25-21 crystal -Genuine 703 crown/tube -Genuine 7835 folded link bracelet Pics: Need to send this one off for a service, however... But in the meantime, a fun piece to have Thanks for looking! //ubi
  10. Good info, tx! Stunning watch, unregistered! I'm not usually a Cartier kind of guy, but damn... This one has an appeal to it that I can't quite explain. Quite tempting...
  11. Hey gang, Just stopping in for a brief moment; my schedule has been quite hectic lately, so I don't have the time I'd like to spend visiting I did want to share a recent build that I had completed for watchmeister; since finishing my own 5514 project recently (link), I had some parts left over to start a new build. Here's what we've got: -Old school MBW 5513 case, drilled for an HeV -Yuki valve -Custom painted dial lumed by the Zigmeister -Stock MBW 2836 movement -Genuine fat font insert/tritium pearl -Genuine 25-19 crystal -Genuine crown/tube -Genuine spring bars Thanks for looking! Back to my crazy schedule... Best, //ubi
  12. Cool! I'm sure there will likely be inaccuracies as usual, but it's nice to see a Mare Nostrum for a change
  13. Great write up, exper! I love posts like this, as I can live vicariously through the adventures that our great forum members partake on. Almost feels like I'm there to experience it myself I'll probably be visiting and revisiting this thread to read through again and again.
  14. Great pic! Looks like the watch just washed ashore! Wouldn't that be a nice find for some lucky passer-by...
  15. Ahhhh... PATETED! Nice reassurance that the clasp is correct BTW, has my parcel made it's way into your hands yet?
  16. When in doubt, one of these German made winders should do the trick
  17. Looks great! Nice build, and job well done! The DRSD dial you have has several characteristics that I would correlate to an NDT dial. Very interesting With the right hand set installed, you'll see a very big change to the overall picture... Keep up the great work!
  18. Great to see you back, Robbie! Hope all is well in life! Funny... You know, I think the natural progression for a lot of watch collectors is to start with Rolex, venture off for a bit, discover everything else, and then come back to Rolex. I know I have... Many times! Always thinking the grass is greener on the other side, and coming to realize that everything I wanted was right where I was to begin with. Odd how that works... Cheers! //ubi
  19. That's quite a neat project! Looking good thus far!
  20. Fantasy vintage Yacht-Master perhaps? It's quite a unique look...
