  1. Gen movement Gen dial Gen hands Gen crown?
  2. Love it on the mesh! How does it compare to say... A Panerai, or AP ROO with regards to size/wear?
  3. One of my favorite dial and hand combinations! Very nice!!
  4. CONUS; 2 or 3 sets, please! Though, I think at the moment (and FGD can correct me if I'm wrong) I believe he is only looking for distributors in the US and Asia?
  5. Nice 6538 BabyTrio! Please post more pics!
  6. Amazing and unreal is understating this one! I somehow doubt you will ever tire of this one, but if you do... We may need to work something out
  7. That PVD coating is just sumptuous. The color depth and texture is just so deliciously rich... I am
  8. Gen hands, and if you can find it, a gen dial are both very nice upgrades on this watch. I did the dial and hands on mine and have never once regretted the decision: Beautiful 3717 thus far... This is a classic design and a must for any IWC enthusiast (in my opinion)...
  9. Hmmm... Think I like it on the bracelet the best. The chunky, blocky links really gives this watch a hefty bit of presence. Though I can certainly appreciate this one on strap; especially if it were fitted with a thicker black strap. Makes for a nice compliment to the dial and bezel...
  10. Wow!! That's taken with a camera phone?!
  11. One thing I forgot to mention (and perhaps the finishing touch on this project)...
  12. Thanks, gang! Just got back from having this one pressure tested; passed with flying colors to 150m (the limit of my local guy's pressure tester, I think). He couldn't confirm any more than that, but it's more than I'll ever need, methinks. @Dizzy- Phong is doing my caseback for me. I specified some details to him and he is having it made to my specification. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the month. Cost... Not sure on that as it is built into the price of the case. @Cats- The project wasn't really too bad, actually Gen Rolex movements are easier to work with and handle than ETAs in my opinion. Cost... Not too bad when spread out! @P4- The idea of using a gen case did cross my mind; and maybe I may just do that down the road. I do have to admit to being a little hesitant in drilling the case for the He valve, however... @omgiv, P153, Jeff G, watcher, TMG and everyone else that has stopped by- Thank you all for the very kind words! I do appreciate it! Thanks one and all! Cheers, //ubi
  13. Adjusting the crystal is a piece of cake. It's just a matter of rotating the crystal either clockwise or counter-clockwise. But in order to do that, you need to remove the crystal ring:
  14. Watchmeister's watch above when he let me take it for a few months...
  15. Where is the crown etch at 6:00 oriented in relation? Is it dead on at 6:00, or slightly off? Basically, I'm trying to determine whether it's the crystal that's crooked or the cyclops. If it's just the crystal, a slight adjustment can fix that. Even if it's the cyclops, you can realign (though that will mean removal and re-install of the cyclops).
  16. Interesting piece My guess is it was once a pocket watch either recased or converted to a wristwatch due to it's size.
  17. Fri- 16520 Sat- 5514 Sun- 7032
  18. Gorgeous pair, and gorgeous pics! Beautiful, cc!!
  19. Have to wonder what the reasoning was to even use this kind of crystal construction... If the crystal is two parts (mineral and sapphire), I can't imagine there being much cost savings over just using a solid piece of sapphire...
  20. Looks great! Though I should add that ALL MBW 5513/1680s have the 26mm dial recess. Historically, none of them had 26.5mm (i.e. if you had one of the old, original MBW 5513s and wanted to add a gen 1680 dial, it would have to be trimmed in order to fit). In fact, for the longest time the only case option was a 5513; the 1680 engraved case was something that came about only in the last few years or so. That's just the way MBWs have always been. The case is great for a 5512, 5513, 551x whatever or Tudor Subs, but not the best first choice for the 1680 for that reason alone. The 5512 looks great! Enjoy your new build... //ubi
  21. Turned out beautifully! Very well done Very nice, clean PN. I bet the wait makes it even more special...
  22. Hey gang, Okay, I feel some clarification is needed here. I've had many PM's asking about this item, offering payment, etc. So, here's the low down... 1) The case will be offered free, gratis, on the house, my treat. 2) I will need to devise some method or contest to 'win' the case. I wish I had one for everyone interested, but unfortunately, I only have the one. 3) This will be open to Platinum level subscribing members only. I want to offer this with a fair chance to all. Once I figure out how to do this, I will post more details Cheers! //ubi
  23. May have this case coming available as a freebie sometime soon. Details- 1665 MBW case with the HEV hole drilled out and ready for a valve. This is a mid case only; you will need the crystal, crystal ring, washer, bezel, insert, crown, tube, valve and caseback to make it a complete case. However, this is a decent starting point, and you can't beat the price. Overall condition; it's fairly knicked and beaten, but most of the scars will be hidden under the crystal ring anyways CGs have been shaped and lug holes have been drilled. Could probably use a polish; I will leave that up to whomever ends up procurring this case. And on to the pics... I will probably limit this to Platinum members as eligible only... Details to follow at a later time/date (I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to choose a recipient just yet). Cheers! //ubi
