  1. Think I paid 340 Euro/$450-ish with a set of gen hands for mine? It's been a while since I bought my set, but that figure seems about right considering the exchange rate, etc.
  2. Very nice, euno! What are your thoughts and impressions on the Survivor?
  3. I checked my links and bits box last night; not much luck. I found a pin but without the cap
  4. Chief, The watch came back for a couple of items- I wanted to get a new, taller hour wheel, cannon pinion and fourth wheel fitted and also install a stilty ring to stabilize the movement inside the case. I also installed some new hands, but would like to find some better replacements; the ones currently fitted are okay, but could be better. The dial is my favorite part about this watch
  5. Happy birthday, buddy! Hope today is a great and special day
  6. Thanks, gents. This is indeed a neat watch with a dial that I've not seen come up very often. Dad has worn this one for the past few years; I gave it to him when my daughter was born. It's certainly seen it's fair share of wear and tear, especially to the crown and case sides. I'll probably give it a quick polish, and I offered to swap the crown, but Dad doesn't think it's necessary Might just do it anyways.... Was also thinking of maybe trying to fit a 3155 into the case, but not certain it would fit. I know Dad would appreciate a Day + Date function. @red- The WG fluted bezel came with the case set, so it wasn't difficult to source at all I do see similar bezels for sale from time to time, but the pricing tends to be a bit steep ($300 - $400 for WG; that's more than I originally paid for the entire case set with the bezel). I do see some SS fluted bezels for signifcantly less, but the WG really adds a nice touch to the overall watch.
  7. I may have some spares... I'll have to look. If I do, you're welcome to a few...
  8. Truly a stunning build, M! That is really a phenominal piece, and fantastic pics as well!
  9. Just a couple pics of my father's Franken Date-Just; I've had this one on my desk for a few months now and finally got a moment to get it all back together. -Genuine 16234 case -Genuine WG bezel -Genuine crystal -Genuine 603 crown/tube -Genuine dial -ETA 2824 -Stilty ring I spent some time pondering whether I should just get ahold of a 3135 to stab in the case instead of the ETA currently inside, and may eventually do so. However for the time being, Dad just wants his watch back, so this will have to do for now. A couple of hurried and not so great pics... When I get a chance, I'll grab some better images for my library Thanks for looking! //ubi
  10. So, can anyone (aside from chieftang) figure out the significance of the custom serial I had engraved?
  11. Thanks all for the very kind words! And thanks to the owners of some of those watches for the opportunity to work on some fun pieces! All the best, //ubi
  12. Glad it made it's way to you safe and sound! Looks right at home on your wrist!
  13. Very nice thus far, T! Hopefully some of the things we've discussed offline were fairly easy to rectify?
  14. Remarkable images; especially the dragonfly shots! Very nice!
  15. I know, I know... Maybe I'll get her a cal.821 Speedy to make amends
  16. The dial is the easiest part; accurate hands may be a challenge (from my experience), and finding a good 60 tick insert with correct size hole for the pearl is even more difficult.
  17. When speaking in gen terms, the 5513 case differs form the 1680 case greatly, as the opening/aperture for the dial is smaller on the 5513. A gen 5513 has a 26mm dial, whereas the 1680 and 1665 have 26.5mm dials. As such, some reps may differ in this sense (the numerous models out there will vary), though the one consistent and firm exception to the rule is the MBW case (which is based on the smaller 26mm dial for both 5513 and 1680, thouch not accurate for the 1680). When I built justasgood's 5517, it was based on an MBW 5513 case; the lug holes were drilled out much too large by a previous owner, and there were two choices: i) scrap the case and start with a new one or ii) drill the lugs out even more and have bars pressed in to make it a 5517. I chose the latter for his watch, to which jmb graciously did the lug bar conversion... Before After
  18. Hmmmm... Not sure it would work, B. I *think* the dials measure as: 14060 - 26.8mm 16610 - 27.2mm Since the WM9 case is made for a 16610, the 14060 dial may not have enough surface area to fit behind the rehaut securely. The above are based on some scattered notes that I have so I am sure there is +/- for error... And it's been a while since I've had either of those dials in hand, so I can't do a proper measurement of them.
  19. My daughter won't let me live down the fact that I've sold ths one. I think it was her favorite watch.
