Heck... I don't mind if someone who buys my watch wants to try and make some money off of it. I priced it low enough so that if someone did want to resell for a few more bucks, they could do so with a straight face (with the presumption that it would be sold with full disclosure of origin, build, etc).
But $40k?! That to me is just excessive. Shit... I felt that listing it at $4k was excessive (which is in the neighborhood of what I had into it)...
That's a good point, T. And yet another reason for me to be a fair bit more discerning if I ever do part with anything again.
But, in all fairness, I suppose the above scenario could take place with any high quality rep (not just frankens).
Hey guys,
Just checking in
Anytime works for me! Wife and kids will likely be running around, hitting the pool, etc.; let me know what works for everyone else!
I'll likely only be bringing one watch with me; due to travel, staying in a hotel, etc. I really don't want to bring a bunch of stuff with me, so what I have on the wrist will be it. Any requests?
Picked up this nice genuine 1665 dial; this was one of those deals where I wasn't planning on building one of these, but the price was way too good to let it pass!
Do I hold on to it? Build it? Pass it on to a friend that is building a 1665 as well?
Part of me thinks I should build!
I suppose that whomever buys the watch is free to do with it as they please after they take delivery of it, but I would have hoped that the new owner would have either enjoyed the watch for what it is, or represent it honestly if reselling.
One more... Though of a 6265 (not a 6263):
-Phong case
-Genuine Lumi Service Dial
-Genuine Lumi Service Hands
-Valjoux 72 serviced by Zigmeister
-Genuine 25-21
-Genuine 703 crown/tube
-Genuine 7835 bracelet (self destructed during a re-size attempt)
-Genuine 78350 (new replacement)
Old pics...
Hey gang,
Sorry to chime in somewhat late; I haven't been on the forum in a few weeks. Chief and red alerted me to this thread; I can attest that this is indeed my old watch! WTF?! $40K US???
FWIW, rm88 did not purchase this one... It was another member.
Disappointing to say the least. I am always reluctant to sell my pieces as it is; this may have sealed the deal in convincing me to never sell another piece again...
Diesel and only Diesel here...
(Just a few of my favorites)
I've got pairs that are coming up on a decade old and still look and wear great. I've gone overboard in the past few years picking up the hard to find washes; they're one of my other hobbies that a lot of people can't wrap their head around...
I've tried a number of other brands; Diesel just works best for me. Nice and durable... They hold up great and fit me the best out of most others out there...
Personally, I'd want something completely ridiculous, and not readily available here in the U.S.

Sorry, sir. I have not had a chance to do any measuring, but it looks like others have answered your question
As for the DW- Indeed, there is a pretty big difference in height between a 2836 and 2824:
The 2824 is flat whereas the 2836 is raised at the ratchet teeth.
Hope this helps...

If you have a pic of what you're looking for, I'd give Mary/Watch-International a try. She'll go out of her way to find exactly what you're looking for; when she finds something, she'll photograph it and send to you for your review and/or subsequent approval if it's what you want.
Probably the best way to get a hold of some of the less common pieces...
