  1. If someone wants to build with my case the movement needs to have the same stem height as a 2824...

    ETA 2783

The 2783 also uses a two-piece dial platform/spacer that's a bit pricey if it doesn't come with your movement.
  3. Turned out fantastic and that movement looks right at home in there! Good out-of-the-box thinking, we may all need to start doing that in the future.
  4. Lookin' good! Open up those lug holes and you're all set.
  5. Very cool, a whole lot neater than how my MIG work turns out!
  6. If plexi then it should have lug holes, too, I would think.
  7. Dunno about that lug engraving, looks a bit off to me, what year is it supposed to be?
  8. So far I haven't had any problems and have even had two packages of parts opened and inspected by US Customs. One was a batch of cases and another a batch of clone 2824 movements - seems they don't appear to care much about parts.
  9. That example looks like it's got about 50 years of buffing on it. Nothing will be crisp after that...
  10. Nope, gonna have to build one...
  11. I have one of the quartz copies, not super accurate but a nice wearing inexpensive watch.
  12. I'd use a cartel case. The "new" ones I have seen actually have CGs unlike the little "nubs" on the older ones.
  13. Doin' fine, M, trying to stay out of trouble and helping people build Explorers! See what you started?
  14. The superglue out-gasses while curing and fogs the surface of the plexi. You might be able to use polishing compound but would be a lot easier to replace it.
  15. Glad to see you come up for air, M! I was thinking this might wake you up!
  16. Ooooh, plexi and super-glue don't play well with each other. But, all is not lost...
  17. I was referring to end-links. You need end-links that have larger tubes for the fat bars...
  18. Order some that fit from WSO990 on fleabay...
  19. Pi$$es me off that after building so many by the time I decided it was time for me to have one ingod had went [censored]$-up! My timing has always sucked... Man, that's [censored] that I can't even say [censored] around here!!
  20. Man, that turned out great and the gen dome has incredible clarity! You are correct about the Felsa, it's a hair larger in OD than the ETA and needs to be sanded. Time to decide on another project!
  21. It makes me feel good to have made it easier for people to build themselves a decent Explorer. Why the rep factories won't do it is beyond me...
