AP Don Ramon Pics! More Gold Fever!
edgematic1 replied to eunomians's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Yes and no, somehow I would wear a RG Rubberclad at my age (24), because it's sporty. But the DR is more classic due to the complete gold case. Although, if I would have a monthly income as high as to get one of these easily I'd probably get it... . But I don't feel comfortable yet with wearing gold, and it's not about income, it's about the feel. -
Greg, send me a PM, I'll send you some info on who to contact for a short strap.

I took mine for the extreme test in July, went to 30m deep with it in the Pacific. It passed. Took a pic at 30m but I could not find it back. Will post it one day...

Audemars Piguet is more than just the Royal Oak, with the Millenary, Jules Audemars, Edward Piguet and the Classic line they offer some exceptional pieces. Unfortunately it seems that those pieces never have drawn any attention to the rep makers or the repgeeks, since not many threads are up about this. But, I'm here to ask you if you would be interested in a proper rep of another AP classic, the Millenary. Sometimes the expression of a particular watch design can often “make it or break it.” Here is an example of a watch design that definitely “makes it”. With it's unique oval case design I think it's one of the other great pieces AP has ever produced. Problem with the Millenary to rep has always been the complex in house movement or the open caseback. I'm here trying to convince you for a change . In 2009 AP has release a limited edition Millenary of 500 pieces in tribute to the legendary musician Quincy Jones. The QJ Millenary has got a closed caseback with the QJ signature on it, which makes it perfect imo. The movement is the AP 3120 caliber, which is also used in the Diver, I hope you hear me coming now. The case is a blackened steel case, single sided AR on the crystal (inside only), a leather croco strap with the AP folding clasp we know from the offshore reps. The datewheel is black. So basically we could be using the movement used in the AP Diver, it already has the correct DW, not the correct speed since AP's caliber is a low beat but most of us don't care about that. Since there is not a single good dress watch rep from AP (except for the Royal Oaks, but with the open caseback they still have flaws), I think this might be a possible one. Now I'd like to hear your thoughts about this model and if you would ever buy this if it were repped. After the Diver V3 / V3.5 we know which standards the rep factories has gotten to. Anyhow, I'm wild about this one and I do hope I'm not the only one. Please share your thoughts. Retail price is around $21,400 Link to AP's website: http://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/watch-collection/millenary/millenary-quincy-jones-limited-edition'>http://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/watch-collection/millenary/millenary-quincy-jones-limited-edition Some pics: video: http://s148.photobucket.com/albums/s31/ED209_photo/Audemars Piguet Quincy Jones Event Jan 2010/?action=view¤t=7dea3de2.mp4'> This is a piece our dealers can currently offer (picked a picture from timeshops as he has good pics, I'm not affiliated with this dealer)

In all my honesty, I have had a bad experience with Domi and won't use him again. He did not perform the work I asked him to do, did something else so my problem was not solved. There was dust on the underside of my diver dial. His price was double the price he estimated (although he refunded me a part after I desagreed). And I've never seen him using fingergloves on his pics, which is a must imo when handling lot's of gen parts as well. Anyhow, that's just my opinion, lot's of other good opinions.

Qc pics of Ap diver v3 , latest batch from puretime
edgematic1 replied to kingblu3's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
it comes with a buckle -
Should I accept this V3 or wait for a new batch?
edgematic1 replied to a topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
reject, look at those screws, also the lume on the bezel insert ain't perfect. Main concern are the screws, although you can align them by yourself as well. -
This is a V2

Safari Arrived Today, My Authentic vs. Replica Pictures

or the latest 14790, it's very close to the gen and small size! -
Did they ever rep this ROO case?
edgematic1 replied to edgematic1's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
thanks! -
I like it! Nice strap as well! I already read on the boards a post that you had this in the works, after seeing it I kind alike it. One thing I notice is that the bezel isn't placed correctly, the brushes are not aligned to the brushes on the case, it needs a turn

You're mostly welcome mate!

This is all that has to do with QC pics. This watch is not as advertised on the dealers website. Seems faulty to me.

A gen strap can be had in short version, I think APbands sells shorter versions as well. As for the deployant buckle, this is the best replica buckle you'll find... And a gen is quite pricey.

Why does the black themes have a black DW, this is all wrong...

the LW "The One" is being repped, there are already a few early case samples, no finalized samples though
