  1. Thanks Pix !! Really Kind of you .. The watch has great curve appeal,.. and it's definitely a must buy !!
  2. I don't know man... where he is,.. he may be in for a public paddling.... I Wish him well,...
  3. Great Looking Piece.. ! They have been slowly growing on me and I'm about ready to jump .... How does it fit on the wrist ? After wearing this Overseas,.. I have gotten spoiled by perfect fits and noticed the curved lugs on your Monty, which it seems would make it conform to the wrist....
  4. A7750 serviced makes sense... {depending upon who is doing the servicing that is...} When the cost of a replica comes to 25% of gen,.. it's not worth it to me... 10% or less is what I shoot for... and hit 90% of the time...
  5. If you have the skills ... then go for it,.. As for me,... I'd be proud if there were only 5 pieces left when I was done...
  6. No worries Jumbe,.. you may find one on the used market at a cut rate price... Also to everyone,. no need for thanks... I'm simply gloating..
  7. Yes he was an Horse's Azz, however that being said, I agree with Kruzer. Your watch should be an accessory to your life style, which includes your wardrobe and car.. It's great to love the beauty and majesty of Bling,.. but if you can't complete the picture, then just be honest and defuse the pressure,.. Replicas can make a great conversation piece...
  8. Don't worry,.. whoever the collector is,... as long as they are trusted here, then you will receive your watch. Since we are like family here, the process can get pretty informal at times where trust is assumed, but don't take that to mean that they are going to rip you off or value you any less,... it only means that you are one of the gang,.. they trust you, and vice versa..
  9. Hi Dluddy,.. I did take one,. find it on the 2nd to last post on page one... Bad photo however and looks like it's paint, and mis-aligned,.. but it's not,.. it's engraved to perfection and aligns spot on when I wear the watch. Coolfire, I will take a closer look and let you know...
  10. No.. that's his old 38mm model,.. the one with the big dial numbers and markers, non-beveled date window, fat hands, and serial numbers 49150-785384. It's the watch dial that you used to transplant your cross from. Hey Kruzer,.. Congrats ! You are going to Love this Watch ! I haven't been able to take it off since I first received it ! It's seriously my favorite rep of all times... No problem Stephanie,.. just doing my bit...
  11. Thanks Stephanie.. Your model is the previous version to the new release but not old. The only difference is the cross, date window and hands. But easily modded,.. check Flavor Flave's post. http://www.rwg.cc/members/full-modded-VC-o...eas-t23905.html Only now it's better just to ask Silix for a new dial so you can also have the updated date window. As for hands,...only a small difference, so no big deal. Ryan,.. sorry, I didn't have time to take photos,... I didn't really want to open the case as I always end up damaging my screws a bit or scratching my caseback, and I could tell from the way the way it sounded, second hand and how the rotor moved that it was most probably eta,.. but once I did, I was about to go out and wanted to wear it,.. so I put it back together again... Yes, it looks like Stephanie's movement,.. it's gold plated, and a 2428-2 or 2834 is virtually the same, except the 34 has a module for a day of the week which is not not necessary in this piece. Hey Jumbie,.. this piece is a must have,.. seriously, you will love it !
  12. If QC is a factor for you, I would say that the Steelfish and 3717 are on a much higher level... The Cousteau is hit or miss in that area,..and to me a must wait for a next generation.. or different manufacturer...
  13. I agree, now that I own even a black overseas, it can be dressed up or jeans down,.. the brush work is fantastic along with the design of the case and band. I Plan on ordering a white model as well, and these are the only watch that I am 100% confident that I can do that with,... Tried with the Gsts.. however it was not practical.. I just hope I can find a brown croc strap for the white one.... then I will be set for years to come and will probably not buy many more reps or need to...
  14. No I didn't.. an Eta 2824-2 movement is an Eta 2824-2 movement.. no pictures necessary.. Unless you doubt me ? Hey Coolfire,.. I'm no AR expert, and those photos were taken by a camcorder,.. Jay could be right,.. do you know of a test I could do ?
  15. Okay... I got curious,.. and opened the back,.. it's a true eta 2824-2 movement,..gold plated, very clean.. Now to get those 8 tiny screws back in,.. and without damaging them or the case..
  16. Case dimensions are 1:1, this I know,... however I have not removed the back for fear of scratching or screw damage,.. Though from the very smooth movement of the 2nd hand, the quiet rotor and time keeping within seconds for over a week now,... I have no concerns..
  17. Good question,.. I believe someone in this thread posted the answer.. but if not,.. write him and let us all know.. I would like a white dial model to go along with this one... Just be sure to say 'updated' model...
  18. I used to own a quite an accurate replica of that watch.... compared it to a gen in the department store and could not see a difference besides the color of the display.. I think however that was when I stopped wearing it, and gave it away,.. Kind of turned me off that it was being sold in the watch counter of Macy's.. :yucky:
  19. Paul as far as I can see doesn't have this model.. are you referring to those 38mm older style VCs he has on his new release first page ? If not please supply the link...
  20. Good thing we have a three day weekend coming up here stateside...
  21. You are absolutly right.. Hold off all future trades,.. as a matter of fact... after reading your post, no collectors here will satisfy you, let alone put up with you as Silix has.. The Mall is where you would be better off dealing,.. Stick with the 'inspired by'..variety,.. the game there is your speed... ....... and please don't have told Silix you came from this board...
  22. You are right,.. Gerald Genta designed the Royal Oak, and the Nautilus. He also designed the Iwc Ingenuier. Regarding your Overseas however... the 42mm version is already out..
  23. The watch on his site is the older version,.. he has not made the site alterations as of yet, but if you tell him that you want the new updated version with the serial numbers 47040-794994 then you will be fine.
  24. Silix is not a 'One - Way' dealer,.. many of times he will have stock in house. Others, when a new release group buy for instance, he will okay the manufacturer to ship direct. He prefers to keep all his shelves full so he can check his wares and do alterations when he can, but it's impossible for it to be that way at all times.. For instance if he is out of stock while an order comes in for a watch that sells only infrequently, it does not make sense for him to re-order that item in bulk, and since his prices are always very low, to have the dealer ship one watch to him would double the postage costs so it's best to have that item shipped direct from the maker. Whichever way it happens however the good thing about Silix is that he will take care of you quickly if any problem occurs, so the risk of the drop ship is on him. Regarding e-mail times, he is running several businesses and answering all mail himself, so it usually takes a few days for reply,... but he always answers,.. However if you send more mail into the loop, thinking that he is ignoring you.. it only adds to the mail back-log and makes delays for other members ..
  25. Fanatastic,.. nothing better than a 42mm automatic watch that's also very thin. This Overseas is my thinnest yet at 9.7mm which is the actual gen size as well, though you will read some web pages listing it incorrectly at 12mm. After going through the Pam craze, I have found these thinner variety, to be my personal sized best.. and I marvel at the ergonomic thin profile of this Overseas .. The 42mm gives them presence, while the profile gives them class.. Can't wait to get my hands on a Nautilus,.. and now also searching for a Jumbo Royal Oak.. Thanks !
