  1. Here's one.... http://www.europeanwatch.com/omega.htm
  2. You can find Seamasters used, vintage, or sometimes on sale ...
  3. Omega - Sinn - Oris - Hamilton,.. in that order...
  4. I think the numbers on the whole, mirror the income divisions of a population. 8% of people control most of the wealth,.. Yes there are always people in high income levels that will invest their money into non-watch-related areas, as for them, a watch is a watch, or a replica would serve the same purposes as a genuine, also since the majority of people don't know a Jlc from a Vc. However, most people that can afford high-ticket watches will purchase those,... Rep makers sell the majority of their wares to the masses, that 90% + of people, who cannot afford the variety of genuine, or the few branded pieces, that they would like to own. Specifically however most are sold to, The Watch Aficionado,.. the vast majority of which, will spend the amount of money which could purchase a few quality genuine pieces, on ten times the quantity of replicas.... An even rarer breed is the wealthy watch nut,.. That naturally would regard,.. Replicas as junk..
  5. Would love to have both !! Though the Blancpain is way overdue ...
  6. There was a Chinese source for the non-chrono versions in downtown los angeles once,.. a guy at work had one that was quite heavy and accurate, however whenever I searched the alleys I came up empty. I guess it was a matter of being in the right place at the right time. It was the only FM that I could ever wear,.. as I found it quite masculine in comparison to the rest of the line...
  7. A few years at Rwg1, and Trc,.. Great Place,.. Trc,...Nice & relaxed,... Tons of related info... Somewhat like a small town, though the membership count was high,.. the activity was slow & easy, like a Sunday in the park.. and I bounced back and forth from a fast paced city of Rwg1 to the clear calm pond of Trc,... Then Rwg1 started to deteriorate with infighting, insults, slights, flaming and out-right,..isms,. that cut the ties between why we were gathered there together in the beginning,.. which is a love of time, represented in mechanical form,.. Then Admin, Ken, and a few good men, took the best of Rwg1,..and Combined it with the worldly intelligence of Trc and Rwg.cc was born,.. The best of all Worlds,... Fast but on the right path,.. like a well heeled automobile on the Autobahn.. Recently however some of the insensitive blindness that tore Rwg1 apart has reared it's ignorant cave mentality here, and I sincerely hope that it's checked with the foresight of our past experience, not crudely censored, before it reproduces itself, and infects this board, carrying it down the same path to ruin as it's predecessor,.. If it does,.. I'm sure that Trc may end up being what is always was.. an Oasis,.. a Survivor that knows why it's there and remains like a Rock in Stormy seas,.. Five Cheers for TRC
  8. Thanks Everyone for the fascinating insights ... especially to Vbarrett who is a WordSmith extraordinare ! Any more input would be greatly appreciated for our board, as I plan on linking to this post to my signature...
  9. Very interesting,.... So 'Hour' and 'Watch' is the same in some languages ? It would be strange in English to say "Where did I put my Hour ?" in reference to a timepiece.. People would respond as if we had lost an hour of our day.... or our mind... Great insights.... Thanks !!
  10. Is it because we watch the time, or the timepiece watches it for us ? If Watch, is Not the word in your language,.. then What is the Word, and meaning in your tongue ?
  11. Take a gander at the following link and consider weather you want to deal with a Neanderthal.. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=58493
  12. After years of squinting at Graham,.. my original view has not changed. Graham tries too hard and goes way Over the Top,.. from the designs to their names,.. "Chrono Fighter" .. indeed.. .. Would be like Seiko coming out with a "Samurai Master" with a sword handle sticking out of the side as a crown guard and blades for hands.. Lastly,...Dealer's opinions in threads such as these are to be taken in context..
  13. Silix has always been the low price leader,..
  14. Personally I would say White,... Too many of my collection of the past had black dials,.. which I chose for bold contrast and easy reading ... however... White seems to go better with more clothing types and colors ...and the VC dial has chrome outlined markers filled with lume as does the hands.. so easy to read regardless...
  15. ..ever notice how motivations are made visible not by what is said, but by where and when, how loud and how long ? Now stay tuned for a commercial break....
  16. The main reason for high prices as I see it,... {if you don't have factory contacts.. } Is there is no unity on any of the boards.... Many people here are as easy to sell as sailors in from a six month sea voyage,.. with their pockets full of cash and their brains full of goo... We place such a high premium on new releases, heated up by peer pressure, and the illusion that eta, the popularity of a gen counterpart, or shot in a movie, somehow makes it a better watch, when in reality, many Asian movements are just as mechanically sound, and the perfect engine for a watch which is, and always will be,.. a replica,.. Not to mention that 90% of the time the love affair with any rep, will grow cold in a matter of days, if not seconds, like that let down after climax when that woman you thought was sooo hot...is transformed into a grinning gap tooth hag...and the echo of your love song that got her into the sack is haunting you with regret...
  17. I always thought negative of the fact that he loves playing both sides of the fence,...
  18. Fantastic ! Surprised for sure ! Memovox is my all time favorite,.... and the only rep I have left,... Now he only needs to update his girlfriend,... Now Brad,.. he's got great taste in watches & women !!!!!
  19. Great Thread !!!! I would agree with all,.. and have quite a few to look forward to.. My personal favorite is Narikaa's JLC Memovox with working alarm,... I've had it for many months now and it never fails to awaken me,.. Not to mention that it's the perfect all location watch,...!
  20. Smooth Move,...! I would have thought they would have been mods long ago,... Congrats Guys,... you now enrich the board officially !
  21. ... I think it's quite easy to discover which dealers are best, ... *best, relating to a combo of cost & service,.. You only need to price a few watches with several dealers, then read dealer reviews to get the scent of the service levels... I wonder, at the kinds of self induced blindness it would take to boil down the subjects of these threads related to the factual transgressions that have been unveiled,.. as Total BS ? Loyalty is a dish best served like sushi,.. Fresh! In other words... Your personal past experience has nothing to do with how others may have gotten or will be be getting reamed,... Nor has it any relation to the questions of what is in the best benefit to the community as a whole. If the fish is stinking,.. don't eat it,.. or at least don't tell others to... To systematically ignore certain facts and play down others which came to actual theivery,.. to me screams agenda louder than anything that the paranoid do dream up.. Though the agenda would probably be something as simple though ignorant as having a watch or two in transit, hoping for a better deal, friendship over board, a grudge from a past dispute or a total misreading of an individual.
  22. Just a quick comment on the statement that doing business with a certain dealer or not, has anything to do in this case, with reaching an informed opinion about them. That is after all what a board is for,.. and this board especially... This thread alone is ripe with all the sound information one would need to discover what is what and who is who, for the most part, as I don't feel Angus & King belong grouped with the likes of Josh... and there are other dealers with great gaps in their game who are getting a free ride on the expressway to moolah-ville. As to the benefit of such threads,...Some of us have realized long ago that many tend to value their personal perks from brown nosing, false friendships, or crusty old views, over reality, and more important, what is best for the board as a whole.. Yet if one person is helped,,.. then by all means.. let it be posted again, & again....!
  23. Much prefer the Patek,..though some of what I feel may be due to the hype of the moment, I feel it's a cleaner design as I find the AP with it's nuts and bolts design somewhat gimmicky,.. Both are still reps however better than most,.. but still simply reps.... In that vein,...I wonder however when the other dealers will obtain the Patek.... The pricing from MBW is too far over the top imo...
  24. Agree 100%,.. Rwg is the place to be..! Too bad some of the most important posts will never be read before they are pushed down and buried forever... Would be nice to have a permanent forum where important posts can be pinned, for life,.. so people would never have an excuse as to why they continue to make the same mistakes that waste their hard earned money...
