  1. There you go,.. good to see someone else step up... I don't mean this thread to put anyone down.. but I would like to see some serious discussion and defense of your choices... Just this once... None of this, 'To each his own'.. Not today at least,.. haven't any one of you wanted a chance to tell how you feel about certain watches ? Why you enjoy them when many do not,.. or what about a certain style or brand turns you off ? How about this,... I think FM or Cartier are really feminine brands.. am I alone ? I'm also getting tired of the Large Numbers dial markers at 12 3 6 and 9,.. too many are starting to look alike... Do you disagree ? Fine let's hear it....
  2. I don't mind a few diamonds as markers on a dial.. but any on the case & bezel,.. can't stand it... Also gents,. I know most of us don't care what others think,.. I'm mostly just curious as to your decision making process when you reject or select a particular type of watch...because those thoughts also come into play when you see those watches on the wrists of others, even in the wrist check threads... am I wrong ?
  3. Have you ever wondered what kinds of perceptions your watch brings to you ? Some of you don
  4. Hey Rob, where did you get that Bell & Ross ? It's handsome,... the only B&R I would ever wear....
  5. There are people who can't part with even an empty package, they fold & save them for possible future uses. I say close eyes and do it. Just look at it as funds for buying new watches...
  6. That gives me pause.. I've dropped my Nokia 9300i several times without a scratch or pause in my call.... This i-phone would not last with me...
  7. Twin Boys ! Amazing Papa ! Congrats Bro,....! I hope you got all the sleep you needed for the next year or so....
  8. VC overseas is a great piece ! Also look into the Chronoswiss models,..
  9. I recall when Pams first came out,.. I thought them too bulky, something I would never wear. However as time does here, they grew on me, and I purchased a few, loving my 196, considering it the most handsome watch I had ever owned. Then about year ago, during one of those periods when I would catch my reflection, and think that they were simply over done, size wise,...I sold them off,...and never looked back.. Though I will purchase an even larger Heritage, to see if the low profile and curvature will make the difference,... 40 to 42mm classics, will remain my choice, as I think they will remain untouched by the limited shelf lives of fads...
  10. I for one have great interest in pursuing this possibility... Let's explore this in more detail,...
  11. Congrats ! Handsome Piece,... Silix began and has remained one of the best we have,.. he's risen to the top and we are lucky to have him.
  12. Who is SoCaltimer ? There are no prices or ordering info on his site.... Have you ordered from them before ?
  13. Torn between both camps ... I love the simplicity of the non chrono,.. however I have always also been a huge fan of chronos,.. What to do,... What to do ?
  14. Looks like a dual timezone 3:27 and 12:10 to me.....
  15. I hope you didn't take my words to mean what you wrote... We all see QC problems from time to time,.. however if your dealer knows you are not just one of the many complainers who have unrealistic expectations, don't understand the logistics of the market, make threats, kill the profitability of most of their transactions, and generally make us board members look like idiots,.. then some will simply send you out another watch free of charge... This has been my experience... However it's a two way street,.. and we need to understand, that any one of us, represents every one of us... This concept used to be more prevalent, however now it seems that our relationship with the our dealers is turning sour.. Where the fault lies, is up for conversation...
  16. Isn't Precious Time Asian ? There have been many Asian and one or two European sellers based in Europe, Canada and other locales, however I don't think it makes a difference over the long haul. All sellers have problems from time to time, and some simply drop out because of it,.. no matter what the claims of personal inspections, sure, blah, yes, send me your money... Unless you are willing to pay close to genuine retail, plus mods, which is to me a bit illogical,.. when a rep will always be, what it is... As an American, price is tops on my list now, as in the past and when I look at Euro based dealers, besides Narikaa, {seller of the only watch I currently own, a $100 gem that keeps time with alarm like a champ for years with no maintenance,} I can't justify the cost, when I know from long years of collecting that there are no guarantees in this game. I agree that if you are a perfectionist, you will need to either pay or learn to mod your own.. Otherwise you need to develop a solid relationship with a dealer, or buy the lower priced model gems that many overlook
  17. There are paranoid, violent, streaks in America that will take a few more generations to resolve. Our country was founded on violence, hatred and injustice, however those issues are being hidden behind the rhetoric of hunting, or crime. Truth is, though most won't admit it, many of those who refuse to give up their hand guns, train to shoot and kill, and stock rounds, are doing so in preparation for some race war that will never happen unless they themselves take the initiative. The gun lobbyist are pushing this whispered treat into the ears of people because it's a huge money making business, that is utilizing twisted statistics of race and crime to bolster their claims and keep the paranoia stoked up and their bank accounts full. Fact is, crime is direct result of poverty, and over 95% of the victims of crime are violated by someone from their own culture. Also Statistics comparing licensed misuse of guns, i.e. school shooting, family arguments, accidental shootings, road rage, ect are far more than the gun that saved a life. As for the argument that America has gone beyond a cure, I say it's not true. It's never too late. To do nothing, only makes America a more dangerous place every hour that goes by. The world was once much more dangerous with nukes, and we are now fighting to curb the introduction of more nuclear weapons.. I agree that laws won
  18. Good to read more great reviews about this watch ! I can't wait until I can get ahold of one !
  19. Am I the only one that sees the irony in the fact that most view gem stones on watches as unsightly or in bad taste ?
  20. Breasts can be beautiful yes, but I don't feel the allure of those saggy hanging udders
  21. When I said 'babies', infants, were not what I was referring to,...
  22. There are amusing psychological profiles on the personality types of men that go crazy for breasts, -vs- those that prefer bootys, or legs. Personally for me, breasts are for babies....
  23. If a sale is that much open to ridicule,.. then either withdraw or alter it,.. the market speaks...
  24. Again.. it IS an Open Market,.. and the people have spoken... Censorship of opinion leaves the forum open to dishonest practices, which is a worse alternative... What you call 'Crapping', others call 'Informing' or questioning,.. Not to say that there have not been some silly or wrong posts at times.. but it's all a part of an open trading forum.. Those that cannot accept it,.. simply don't have to post there...
