  1. Actually Ubi, It was your photos of the Nauti that began my transformation.... I believe you purchased yours from another member, however do you know which dealer carries those ?
  2. Sorry,...yes, I did request a deletion.... Recalling now, the watch I purchased had a horrible face, not only in texture, but every one I saw, even in photos had terribly misaligned markers, especially at the so important 12 O:Clock position. Bezel was bad as well, the paint was very cheap looking and spotty. Case and band weren't bad however. Still, not worth more than $120... If it were improved, {which I does not look like it was}... would not be too bad a piece, but still not close to par with the Gst or Ingen...imo
  3. I'm embarrassed, to admit this to some of you who recall some of my posts trouncing these watches.. But,.. after three years, of fighting it,.. I can now see the beauty in AP,... Just purchased a Royal Oak,..S/S White dial with the gold bolts... {though I must admit that I feel a bit sorry for those locked in bolts with the screw slots which can never be turned...} Also now crave a Patek Nautilus,.. Stick Markers, and no power reserve..pure simplicity {Still however find the Aquanaut an Eye Sore} I guess I should have looked away whenever a photo of those models popped up, because if you look at anything long enough.. it starts to grow on you... I feel now a little lost.. with less and less watches to hate or laugh at....but one I'm sure I will never get weak for....The Chrono Fighter,.. only watch with a built-in-Trigger... What's up with that ??? I know I'm not alone... come on.. admit how that most ugly girl snagged your heart...
  4. Wonderful Review ! I sold my first 42mm po, but this version I think I will most happy with... I especially find the lume work in the markers absolutely perfect ! Thank You !
  5. Thank You !! Glad some of you understand...
  6. I think the the JLC and Vulcain alarms are better choices....the JLC holding top position and has become my daily companion for two months now... Perfect QC,..Accurate Alarm, Easy to read,.. All night Lume, Solid heavy metal and a beautuful look... All from Narikaa !
  7. Jkerouac, well thanks for placing into words what I was unable to.... the trees were too close for me to see ! Now however, that I have had some time away, wish to apologize for losing my patience, when I was the one who allowed new people into the buy. I also would like these imperfection issues to be sorted out, simply because the issue was addressed before hand by us to the dealers, and agreed by them that it would be done. However I also see that Jkerouac's idea is fair, though a delay and a loss of some of the savings, yet still a fair price. Weather EL would rather make it up in a future buy, or some other method I hope so,. as it was his choice to bid and accept the offer by us, with the condition of the face check. However.. again.. if it happens to me, I won't take the dealer to the bank, but would rather see my discount as slightly dimished, yet, my relationship with the dealer as solid for future buys and for the board in general,.. however that is just me, and I will not, or do not take any negative view of anyone who sees it differently. Whatever the dealer decides, or what you yourself decide, will determine in part your own futures.... I have no control over that,...however wish for the best outcome for all, and will in future select the dealers upon how they keep their promises, and participants how they handle what we all are faced with from time to time,... adversity...
  8. You know Devedander,... for someone who has not even received his watch yet, you are doing a lot of pre-supposing, which would be hold more water after receipt, and as I keep saying,.. in another thread.... You are evidently new to this game, however would learn much more from reading, than posting until you know of what you speak. First,.. I am only the contact man for Price.... I have a job you know.. five kids.. a wife.. a home... Please..... Lastly... Naturally EL is taking care of his business.. he would not have been around and be so well loved otherwise, and NO dealers do not profit from losing 33+% from each sale, when they already have a steady client base, which EL has in spades..{He was selling these grand watches at his full price without a bead of sweat...}. His goal is to attact new customers... at a loss this time. We have no power here unless we know the rules of engagement... This is a balancing act in negotiation.. not a Gang Beat Down. Posts like your are making me seriously revising my method of accepting people into these events, the costs in time & frustration is wearing on me....which I think would be better served for all concered .. especially the dealers if I allow only seasoned people or those who understand and accept the game plans...
  9. Thanks for the Positive post Estaban... So how is the link situation ? Jay is sending my watch last, after everyone ... I won't be able to send any links for a few weeks at least.. but I will keep my promise as always...
  10. Okay... let me say this and end it.... Yes, I say again,.. that I made the request for hand inspections after the dealer change, which was agreed upon from each dealer. I could not post this fact, if I had not... However I cannot guarantee or be held responsible for any that miss the mark, which is what you do, when you post the negative in my thread, and further that I be contacted as well as the dealer... The only fair negative post in this venue, would be concerning price,... But let's talk about QC, this last time,..since it's already been thrown into here.... When buying any replica we all take the same risks in quality control, Not More, but Certainly Not Less, even when we pay a premium, {take a look at the mbw jumbo patek at trc trading board and notice the crooked markers.. } ... this is all part of the game. What is not a part, is to take a QC issue and tie it into a group by thread... It makes no difference where you buy, or how much you pay,... the risk remains, that some of us will receive watches that are imperfect... Let's retain a realistic view. It also makes no difference weather there are 10 to 50 or 200 people participating in a buy, the percentage of problems will be no different, than any other way of purchasing, with the key exeception of that you will have paid a much lower price. Aren't you glad you didn't fork out $350 for the same watch ? Thus, If you encounter a problem, take it up with the dealer as you normally would, including with the dealer review forum.... Don't use my treads to do that.... please. GB threads are about savings.... They must remain for the purpose for which they were designed,.. to save you money on the watches you want the most. Participate, or Not.. but follow the guidelines that must be erected, to keep them free of issues that will entangle them with weeds. Otherwise we pay the full price, with the same gamble in the end.
  11. Return the Watch... As for comparisons to any photo taken for it's perfection, that does no good. Bad QC, It's a part of the business for any larger dealer... or those with aspirations of becoming one, which Josh is now becomming, as did Trusty. The advantage of going to them is lower price,.. the disadvantage is what you now own.. a bad Quality Control piece... {Though there are those who charge more, that still retain poor QC..} Just know this, and return the watch when necessary, while learning which dealers strike the best balance...
  12. Hi Neb... I think my point was not made clear. In normal, full price purchases, a dealer either drop ships or not... if he does drop ship, he can only request from his shipper that watches be double checked. Which EL did do... however impossible to guarantee. Jay's case is different,.. he lives in China, so can take that extra step,.. however it is a step beyond what he normally takes and does cost extra shipping and time... which is beyond the norm, for much less of profit, and even there, may not see what someone with a magnifying glass and unrealistic expectations. I did make the request from both EL and Jay and both agreed...however I think we must understand the playing field and make adjustments accordingly. What makes me angry is this post... What I read there is ... 'You had better be telling the truth.. or else..." Can you see it any other way, and understand how frustrating that would be when you yourself have received zero personal gain from all the work ? These are the same replicas that we all purchase with the same inherent flaws and QC problems that we all encounter from time to time, and will remain so as long as humans are involved. Lastly, I need this to be clear.... my expertise is arranging deals... after that, I share no responsibility for the accuracy or flaws in the watch.. as I share none of the profit,.. so when someone posts...."Contact EL and Richard Tracy.." I say,... again.. please keep it in perspective.. I don't request any thanks.. but also won't tolerate any blame for any decisions to purchase .. at a large discount, no less....from any Adult here...
  13. I agree,.. however I repeat, my group buys threads are conversations about price....not flaws or accuracy... Anyone is free to join in any one of many threads or start one of your own for the other... then once decided, join or not join a group buy. I reserve the right,.. as someone who is spending tons of his free time, arranging huge member savings and also board donations to keep my threads on track. I would also appreciate that if you have any doubts of my word,... that you pm me so I can tell you how I feel about that, without upsetting the positive nature of this board...
  14. I think some are losing perspective. My request was made to both EL and Jay,..beyond my recommendations, that we simply take advantage of what every member here, has access to, Great Post Delivery Customer Service, as I realized from the start that our buying power gives us advantage in discounts,... not in service beyond what is currently available to those paying full price. If you encounter a problem, then have it taken care of, as always, in private, until such time when public exposure demands it. The RWG curtesy to our dealers should be no less within group buys. I feel however that it should extend further...
  15. Who was your dealer ?? Also as a side note,... there are places for discussions of this sort outside of group buy threads which are here for price discounts only, once one decides to do a purchase. Thank you !
  16. Evidently, EL's shipper let one slip through, however, not to worry, he will take care of it, and nothing lost, but a bit of time. For everyone that orders from EL, know that from his locale in Canada, he cannot have them shipped to him, then have them reshipped out,.. not feasible from a customs, or financial standpoint. He does however have a great relationship with his supplier, and did request that every watch be checked, before delivery....but let's face it, impossible to make sure every person along the line, is in line. Let us also understand that our 1/3rd off price, does not diminish our right to post delievery customer service, though does not also, give us the right to act in a more impatient manner when problems do occur.... Let's keep our perspective...which will keep these group buys available when we need them. Bottom line however is that all will be corrected..
  17. 'Everyone' here is not adversed to Gens in general,..or otherwise, some, just feel there are more appropriate places to discuss them, when not within the realms of comparisons to replicas.. As for your other ...ahh,.. question .. try gps...
  18. Fair enough.. I respect your views....and also your wallet.. Mr. Goochenbrau's amazement that we go 'nutty' for post about replicas in a replica forum, however is beyond me....
  19. Calm down Admin.. Not what I said at all.... I simply said that one should not be surprised at the range of responses. I personally don't care what a person purchases and have read every genuine post without posting any negative replies, though I feel they are out of place here.
  20. In case you haven't noticed....This IS a Replica forum,..
  21. I had this problem with a gst once. The Zigmeister wrote me about it and what I discovered is it's Not always an easy fix,... it depends upon the reason of slippage. You should send it back, unless you don't mind it running, as you can always reset it whenever you wish to time an event, or better yet, allow your chrono to run at all times as it's no more wear on your movement to allow it to do so. I personally would simply request a discount, as I found that the wheel on these wants to run and is prevented via a brake that once released actually releases pressure on the gears. Hope this helps....
  22. We are all watch lovers..true,... however this is a Replica forum in particular, as such, you will always find purist among our group who feel that the two don't mix for various reasons ranging from what they can afford, to a belief that most genuines are simply an over priced perception. Kind of like flaunting an actual Picasso at a forgers convention... So why the surprise ?
  23. Hey I almost missed this post...I guess it's the title ? Congrats Admin,... you have been a visionary from the start, with the fantastic ability to balance, like a Chinese plate spinner... May you have a long and happy life, and thanks for Everything that I find enjoyable in replica forums !
  24. Great Post Rob,... it makes me appreciate even more being here and now.. I also want to thank you for your well documented advice through the years,.. especially your positive reviews of Asian movements, which has saved me a ton of money, by allowing me to purchase them verses eta. I can also state for the record, that you were never wrong...
  25. Hi Dachshund.... Thanks for the report, Glad that things are looking up for you ! Yes,.. Jay is a Top Notch Dealer and person, and I don't blame Eddie at all,..a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.. The price is $199 to EL,... however if you could donate $5 to the board as well, to even it out for everyone and help our home, that would be great !
