Can we get something in print here ? First, I gave EL first bid on this GB, then another chance,.. and both times he came in higher, than what Jay settled on.... Second,.. This Dollar discount under Jays price and indeed all the lower prices from dealers across the board are due to this GB,.... so please don't disregard how beneficial GBs can be for everyone here... not just those that participate. Not to mention that the vast majority of members in this GB have received their watches long ago.. Regarding the time span, I don't feel that any watch that comes in under six weeks is anything to be concerned about, especially since he has been in communication with you upon request... I personally don't expect a dealer, especially a mega dealer to remember and keep me notified on every turn in my order,... only that he or she reply when I inquire.. Also don't consider it any reason to publicly damage a well earned reputation for customer service in a group buy, where the profit margin is slim, also when true service is really demonstrated after delivery of a damaged watch. Lastly think about all the extra time that was consumed from him due to this special request, which over shoots the price that we obtained, and goes against the rules set up in the GB in the first place, in order to keep the flow smoothly in the groove.. and fair for all concerned. I grant you that GBs however may not be for everyone....

The issue of special requests for strap changes was addressed well before the ordering time. I requested that it not be done, just for the reasons of delay that you are experiencing...while most of the rest of us received our watches already... Group buys are what they are due to the least handling possible,.. If you want someone to physically change straps out, or whatever.. and are demanding your watch arrive in a week.. then be willing to pay the full price... I personally am looking kind of bad to Jay now that this has come to light... seeing the e-mail I wrote to him yesterday, I am shamed.. and see just how much better he is that I would be under this circumstance... Jay is Top Notch, No doubt about it ! Excuse me,.. I have an apology letter to write....

I have a suggestion.... Why not have a Trading Forum that is available to Members Only... where dealers and members can offer special deals ? I would be willing to offer my trades only in that forum...as it would give me a chance of dealing with serious community members, not only for security, but to eliminate those that are only here to take what they can get while giving the least...

Forget it EL.. Until the the boards or you dealers makes it manditory for all members to agree upon certain behaviors, or understandings regarding this rep game, before becoming or maintaining membership or purchasing,... these kinds of issues will continue to threaten us all. Seems the fear of losing any amount of business, not seeing how much more is lost by the absence of key guidelines... is the culprit,.. However if I am wrong.. please enlighten me...

Three weeks..... I have contacted Jay,.... awaiting reply.. sounds like most have been delivered... anyone else not received theirs ? Food for thought,..if a few weeks and a dollar savings under the dealer that brought the price down for everyone ... is enough to cut future purchases,... then no dealer is safe ... not to mention that we will not be seeing many more group buys... We should understand that the logistics of these deals are a nightmare and have a bit more patience.... I will post his reply when received....

Sorry to hear this guys.... this is very unusual for Jay...I never had any order take more than two weeks, and one week was average, something must be amiss in the line somewhere... Let me see if I can find out where... Three weeks is unheard of... Should have let me know earlier...

Not so much a flaw but a QC issue for me is mis-aligned markers.... My eyes always go to symmetry first, and if there is any off kilter markers, I cannot seem to get past it... Drives me Nuts ! Also never go with any 'Faux' function, hate anything having to do with them... ...fake on a fake.... it's just too much !

Exactly, Simple, Just pin a few Guidelines. People who are unknown, or troublemakers aside,... as a community we should all have equal chance at purchasing a particular watch we would like... if someone want's to play 'favorites' then let them conduct a private sale via pm... As for preference to ship only in within your country, no problem, just be sure to mention this fact in your add... On the flip side, if you agree to buy a watch, then you should have 24 hours to follow up, unless you make arrangements with the seller. These few glaring blind spots we are pointing out, are not freedom issues, buy suggestions that will make our trading board a better place for all concerned.

Thing brings up the point again that I hope management would do something about... The trading board is sadly lacking etiquette guidelines or basic rules,.. If it were known that a 24 hour rule existed, taking into account timezones of course, or if arrangements were discussed, we would not be having this problem,... Another is,.. First to Post interest in purchasing, followed by immediate pm, should be allowed time to complete his buy, no matter who comes in later to offer more, or is geographically closer... I have lost many watches by some seller telling me that someone else got there first,.. even though I was the first to post interest... Lastly I would add, No Self Bumping Unless, to Lower your Price or Answer a Question.. Not to follow this basic curtesy is no different than placing your sticker add over some other members, even though you had your time in the limelight, I have written mods several time about these issues,.. but it seems that there is some fear that the board will lose business, which I feel is the opposite in reality ...

Now I'm down to six, {the 7th, still not received after almost 3 months...thanks Neil } I find myself however only wearing three,... My Out of Production Omega smp 2000 {for reasons well known to a few in the know} My swiss 212,.. Just an overall gorgeous piece and to me the most beautiful pam ever.... What sits is my iwc gst, my vulcain alarm {though I did love it alot for a while} I have also yet to wear my iwc portuguese...{don't know why}... Since I have purchased over a hundred reps,... yes I do turn over what I don't wear, ...usually,.. but the three above I will keep, as I know there will be a time that I will get them out an sport them... it's just around the corner...

Well.. after years of looking, which has turned many of my first impressions of let's say for instance, Breitling, Panerai, and even Iwc, from wonder at how anyone could find them beautiful,.. to finally understanding, then loving them... AP has remained outside of that loop.... I received one in trade from another member and immediately, holding it at arms length with thumb and forefinger, placed the offending object into a bag to re-trade it at my earliest convenience....it was the Anti-Patek, that had somehow eluded authorities and was now well into it's mission to destroy the fine Patek name....

I must say in unison, that Trc - Rwg, acted like a springboard into styles of watches I once thought illogical to obtain...thus has turned a passion, into an addiction... I also will, as a result of some of the posts in this thread, start casting my lure into the sea of sensibly priced genuines, that have a history worth representing... When I do.. will these genuines, take me out of the replica market....?

Have you ever wondered why you have this fascination with watches ? Is it the mechanical mechanism, the gears, which represent genius in mankind to invent, craft and assemble ? Maybe it's Time that beguiles you, and it's physical representation there of..? For some, is it the art and beauty of the timepieces...? I can recall my first spark when my grandfather gave me a look at his gold pocket watch,..I was totally transfixed...and he had to pry it from my grasp... and from that time, I can recall having dreams of gold watches under my pillow... These dreams were so real that I would awake in a start to run my hand under the pillow in search of the treasure trove..... Now I find myself when wearing a loved piece gazing at it at least 40 times a day.... {...jeeze.. how much time am I wasting in my life..? } What is your first encounter ? Do you know why you love time pieces ? Are we somehow cracked ??
