  1. Well .. First time for me to be on any positive list.... I'm flabbergasted.... Thanks TT... You for me as well,.. I have really enjoyed your moderation over any before or since.... Also Ken, Admin 1 and Admin 2, ByTor, Ubi, Pugwash, The Zigmeister, ChickenManny, Jkerouac, Indyclimer, Offshore, Nanuq, Archibald, Robertk, Jonthebhoy, Crystalcranium, Cucumber_Jones, Cromodora, Finepics, Jjajh, AMK000, Rongoms, Chronus, Dluddy, Dutchy, HighDef, DRVJA, Jetsons, Krustybrand, Estaban, Marrickvilleboy, Phoband, Pobiga, Relaxman, Ryyannon, Swdivad, Palpatine, PAMman, Rolexman, of course all of our fine dealers.. and so many, many more., that it would look like the bottom of our screen.... Last but not least... that woman that was seeking group sex.. where is she ? Let's give her a forum...
  2. Great News !! And the Perfect time of year for the boat to stop rocking.....
  3. Okay,.. The chance has finally come, for us get our hands on the watch that we want most, replicated,.... Jay is willing to build a watch for us... He says it must be based on the following movements,..eta-2836/2824/2892/6497. Also, since he is going to purchase a gen to model the rep from, we should keep the actual cost of the piece within the realms of acceptability. Also makes for a watch that is realistic for normal ownership.. The most popular will be placed into a poll,.. and we will vote on it, for submission to Jay.... Let the suggestions begin..... My vote is for a Zenith, or Iwc brands ? Still researching moderately priced models..
  4. ......I think this is going in circles.... If a word from our resident master watchsmith won't do it,.. then... as Mr. Jetson would say..."Get me off of this crazy thing !" ..
  5. Those rules are for all 7750's Swiss or Asian.... Just goes to prove that chronographs, are not for everyone...
  6. I stand corrected...... I think the 7750, is much maligned, for various reasons of higher costs, and posts like these, where people will post their negative experience with them, while failing to either admit any responsibility, or forgetting the similar problems they may have had with other non chrono movements, that came in doa or broke down soon after, weather gen, or rep. This I feel does more harm than good for those who would like to experience a chronograph replica. Why ? If your watch fails here in rwg,.. then hey, you have protection with our dealers,.. and if not then you have a fun watch to play with,.. so why all the debate ? Life's too short,.. let's enjoy our toys.....
  7. In general, the more moving parts a watch has, the more potential problems, however that is a watch issue, not a Asian 7750 one.
  8. All I can say is that I have followed The Zigmeister's recommendations on the 7750,.. with regards to the question of weather it's worth it or not, or the risks involved, and the do's and don'ts of operating them,.. and his advice born of hundreds of servicings, has not failed me yet, even though I have never had them serviced. As for the cost when having them serviced.... I think the apt comparison is to the genuine article, not a legal clone no name watch.
  9. Those dirty movements were only on some of the old movements... newer models come sometimes,. dry but clean. Yes, sometimes if you can get a proper fit,.. a gen 7750 movt would be best,..which is still no guarantee... genuine movements also fail..... When you take it all in.. paying $250 is less risk than $750 plus... for just ... a smaller percentage of risk.. I believe the concensus is that for the best possible results for the lowest cost is to purchase a pre-owned Asian 7750 that has passed the test of time, as it seems that failure happens within the first few months.
  10. I have had this discussion with many people over the years.... Seems that some people do their best to avoid risk... and some simply take that chance to enjoy what they desire... I fall into that second group, and have never regretted it, as I have really loved my chronograph reps and find them to be the best of tool watches that are available...
  11. I have owned maybe 20 7750's over a three year period,.. and besides a slipped brake on a 12 hour hand on one... all the other's have worked perfectly, and I have used the chronos.. Never had any of them serviced either.... According the The Zigmeister the Old 7750 is a workhorse of a movement, and the newer model even better.... I personally think many of the horror reports are user caused... some people just are not mechanically inclined or educated, or have terribly bad luck... Like the person who gets into seven car accidents per year, or goes through three failed transmissions or engines in an row...we can't explain them all but user error is a factor....
  12. Run by the people,.. for the people.. This is the Democratic Republic of Replicas...
  13. First. Grandfather's Gold Railroad pocket watch..... Never owned it,..but it fascinated me.. 2. Bulova automatic,.. from a pawn shop when about 11,... kept it until I gave it to my first girlfriend..at 14 3. Citizen Blue Green face date 1977... Loved the color of that face... 4. Seiko Digital, Gold,.. had it for years. 5. Citizen Diver,.. used it through my Navy Seal days.. From then a progression of Milguass, Seamaster ect.... Then Reps caught my attention and the rest is history.. as they say...
  14. Wow.. This site sure has a Ton of Talent ! If there was a vote however,.. though it would be difficult,.. Jboy is coming out with some killer stuff.. Hey Jboy,... If you will do all that for a free watch... I have a business proposition for you...
  15. Referring to the rep... that is....
  16. Me, as well........
  17. I almost forgot about that band problem.. Thanks, well the odds even out a bit... Luckily for me,..I prefer a leather band, which I am searching for, which I feel will suit it better...
  18. Beats it with what stick ?? While you are at it... I know a trick that may align the 12 O'clock markers.... Pull the dial off, see if it has welding pins holding the markers,.. if so..stick a pin into one end of the two, and push it outwards from the face a bit,.. then align and use superglue to hold... However that done.. don't you find the material of the dial has a cheap looking patina ? I did...
  19. Hmmm I can see that.... Can you see this ?....~ On the Aqua,.. looks like they lost out on a bid for bezel inserts so they quickly & crudely carved numbers then sprayed cheap paint around them in an effort to make it look ..'real'...
  20. Ingen 100%,... I had the Aqua and found that it needed a few updates which have never come... The QC, Parts, and Manufacturing is substandard, on 'Every' Aqua, verses 3 in 10 simple QC on the Ingen. However, even if both were in peak form,.... still the Ingen is a much more solid, substantial, better designed, and imo...beautiful watch... Kind of like the difference between a two star motel to a 4 star hotel...
  21. I think that style will dictate what people will wear,... not own. Some people own and buy watches that they never wear, but still will enjoy them. Not to say that style won't affect the popularity of certain watches, like panerai, when sizes do return... as they always do, to 40mm standard for men.... As for those who say you can't go back, once you go large.... I say that's true only to an extent... For instance, thanks to Panerai, I can no longer wear anything smaller than 40mm, yet still consider anything over 42mm on the freakish side. However if styles went back to 36mm... I think I would pass on those as they now have become feminine in my eyes... Nope 40mm is still and will remain the Planet that all other styles will revolve around, and that I am willing to bet...
  22. I used to think it was ugly,.. but Ubi's photos changed all that.. Just picked up a non-jumbo version which was a mistake... waaay too small,.. but am now searching for a jumbo,..
  23. Glory hole ? Is that what you call sticking your dirty ass under my stall ? Believe me, there was nothing 'Glorious' about it,... By the way, .. once removed,..you can keep the shoe....
  24. Oh, it think the terms 'Dad,' 'Husband,' 'Fit,' 'Active,' are more appropriate...
  25. Hey, was that you that I knocked out in the men's bathroom ?
