Iwc Group Buy, El Closes The Gap.....!
Richard Tracy replied to Richard Tracy's topic in General Discussion
I'm impressed,...! Much better photos than I seem to manage,.. you even removed the caseback,.. I guess you are turning into a self reliant replicaholic after all.... -
I got mine from Narikaa,...though at times TTK has them as well.. Hi Ubi,.. I'm still searching for a Jumbo version of that Patek,... trying to stear clear of wm though... too expensive.. Tvt,.. I don't expect much from a $100 piece,... but two were exceptional... as high or higher in quality than any,..both were Jlc,.... one a reserve de marche... Deltatahoe,.. is that a hoe from the delta ? I can see why you love that combo,.. I have got to get a cordovan strap....
-
Wow that is a gorgeous piece,.... I had that watch on my list once,.. then it got lost in the pam shuffle,... now that I see it again..set off with that great strap,.. I think I will go for it,.. the gold indices make if even better....
-
It's a manual wind.... hate quartz... would never buy one.... I can't tell you how many times I have grabbed friends arm to check their watches.. and find that it's quartz,... I drop their arm like it's radioactive,.. yet they still go on smiling with a sh*t eating grin... then go on to tell me how much they love it...proudly holding it up to my face or trying to take if off to show me....while I back peddle away.... Bothers me that they are so ignorant about watches... I say "is that an Automatic ?" Uhh,.. what's that.. yes...uh.. think so... Hey ByTor,.. that's beauty... made more so, by your professional photography.. one reason I hesitate to post photos.....

..you are quite welcome...Glad you got your satisfaction... -
..you set the time in the white area, by the upper crown, then also wind the bell from there as well.... Makes a cross between a knocking and buzzing sound that never fails to wake me but doesn't alarm me either,.. if you know that I mean...
-
Have you experienced buying a watch on a whim,... never expecting much, but were blown away by the quality ? I paid about $100 for this piece, and it's taken me from all my much more expensive watches.. Maybe it's the alarm function which I use quite frequently,.. or maybe it's the all night lume that I can rely on whenever I wake in the middle of the night and wonder what time it is.. I could also be the style that takes me anywhere I care to go, without as much as a blink.. I don't know.. all I know is that I haven't been able to remove this watch from my wrist for over four months now...
-
Ditto ! I hope they release a Memovox with Alarm & Date soon... otherwise I may have to buy gen.. I have owned both the Alarm no/date and Date no/alarm models,... I found the Alarm model much heavier,..the metal was much more solid,.. believe me I know, I had to refinish the spaces between the lugs,..as I found that when I removed the rubber strap that it came with,.. those areas were not finished,. as if they never expected someone to replace the straps... It took quite a lot of heavy grinding, and polishing to get it to match the rest of the case.. The Crowns and guards are also of a much higher material,... It sits now on a dark 24mm lavender gator pam strap, that rocks it out to perfection... thanks to the wider lugs that the alarm model also is blessed with.. Size wise, the Alarm model is about 2mm larger than the other,.... It may not look as accurate,..missing the date,. but the substantial weight, and size, plus the functioning alarm, more than make up for it,... Oh yes, it also has all night lume, and the highest QC on any rep dial that I have ever owned... I have not been able to take it off for four months now....

For me,.. gay, which was pointed out, does not equate, masculine or feminine,.. That's a stereotype, of the lady like man, or the butch woman, when the most feminine woman can be homosexual, as can the most manly man... This thread to me, is about what types of watches you prefer,.... which says nothing about your sexual orientation... only your tastes.... Seems to me, men who are overtly hairy,.. large boned and typically masculine can pull off a Cartier or Frank M... as it seems to play down and smooth out their look... While men without overt masculinity, can toughen up their image with a well chosen pam, or sub or breitling....
-
Pretty impressive... I'm also versed in them.. I know you know, that most of those moves are just for show and would give someone the chance to take then away from you... Do you know your blocks ? Now that you have mastered the two pole,.. try the three pole,.. much more fun with a large variety of surprising tricks and locks that can take years to master...

Beautiful photos Edge,.. Never been to Europe,.. everywere in Asia,.. but my dream is to live in Europe one day, where the people know now to live a life.... Welcome back by the way !

Being heretosexual however not having anything against gays, having a son that has just confessed to me that he's from that group.., I still find certain watches and sizes and styles in some brands ... feminine... FM and Cartier have quite a few in their lines... as does Gerald Genta, Piaget to name a few. Anything smaller than 38mm or with Diamonds...or 'Pink Gold'... now called 'Rose Gold' which was originally made for women,.. but now is being pushed into the men's market... and last but not least.. bands with light colors,.. white, light blue, orange, yellow..ect ect.... any color but brown & black... I don't know why I feel so stongly about it... maybe it's because I was always called by women,..handsome cutie pie,.. , and by men, 'Pretty Boy' which caused quite a few fights growing up, to prove that I was as masculine as any.. then joining the Navy.. becoming a SEAL, mastering martial arts.. ect.... Now that I am older,..I thought I was past all that... and have recently moved slightly out of my watch realm of 'Tool Watches' into some dress watches, or some with a more relaxed theme.. but having just moved to San Francisco... and finding gay men looking my way and winking... it's bringing on those old feelings, and making me put on my Mr. Mean face once again, and sending me back into my search for that ever masculine tool watch...

I have had a few.... best model I own is Narikaa's memovox alarm,...solid, sturdy, reliable, and my favorite daily piece out of any watch I have owned,.. and there have been many.... Another I have owned King's Reserve De Marche Power reserve,.... excellent quality, a classic... I have also had a few Reversos.... Andrew has the best of those.... Overall Jlc reps are some of the best out there....

Wow,...looks like a ton of fun.... Be sure to take some photos of the local delicacies ..

............$29.95...?? Hey, I thought we agreed on $2.95.... and where is the Box set ? -
I usually wear one until I tire of it,.. then buy another,.. Sometimes I go back to the others,... sometimes not... Something strange has happened however,.. this one girl, cheap to buy, quite sturdy, but missing one eye,.. stole my heart, and for four months now, no matter how hard I may try..we have never been apart,.. like a knot in a tie... I even removed my Inge after one day, and returned to the low born girl with so much charm...who begged me to stay... I think I may have found the one... Here is her cousin.. the Gen version... {Rep is missing the date, but has a sweet working alarm} If I never buy another Gen.. this will be the one.....
-
No problem Andy.. we are all busy people... Yes the 13mm would be fine for this submission... and it's not too late to resubmit the model you select.... We have until Jan 2nd... Also,... If you have yet to vote... Please do so.. It's a small but fun price to pay for helping to give our board the power to select the watches we want built.
-
Hey... you gotta do, what you gotta do.... I've done it with less finess than that.... cutting board, heavy book, towel and a slam of my fist..
-
.....this is only our first submission, and we do it with momentum in mind at Jay's request. ...knock on wood, we will be able to continue this, which will allow us more freedom of choice.... which is our goal. Regarding GP, however... AMK000 pointed me to this link: http://www.girard-perregaux.com/collection...mp;id_montre=21 Which was exactly the information I requested several times before I had to delete the thread... As you can see there are many in the GP line that are perfect for this first project, .. which I say again for anyone that has not read any one of the many postings I have made on this.. our search for a Never Replicated, 'All Occasion' watch, which shows potential to be a mega seller. Thanks Amk..

Sounds like a very pleasant day,... I sometimes wonder what it would be like to sell watches for a living...

......curious.. it's the same thickness as the regular Inge....I like that ! I think there will be soon, a lot of non-chrono Inges for sale in the trading forum... but I think I will keep mine,.. and have both...as one has a date wheel, the other a chrono.... -
