Just for the record, the poll is a success, don't get me wrong just because I posted a thread to squeeze the last bit of juice from the fruit,.. which by the way paid off...besides you mis-reading it as some weak opening for your Oris rant. Regarding This particular exchange, I only speak to you out of respect for a fellow board member, something you could learn a bit about,. however as far as your submission,.. it's a non-factor, as the polls demonstrated,..not to mention that it was submitted OFF guideline,. and was only allowed to remain for the days it did, because I knew how you would react,..as you are now.. like you do with anything Bond related,.. illogical, argumentative for the love of argument, blunt as a hammer, and with the same gall that would allow you to believe that you could pick and choose which guideline points you decide are valid... As for your biggest 'Fear',... Please,.. your words suggest, your 'Fear', is your goal... Just so you know,... Most,,..if not All, of the most important board admin, and productive members, here, understand, support, and root for the effort,.. The few members that don't... hey, you have finally made me see that I can't please everyone,.. nor make some see the scope of the plan,..no matter how I try,.. so you will simply just have to hate on the side, and hope for the worst,... that's life.

Patronising ...? Again off point,... Relax on the insult trigger for once will ya ? My post is a last attempt to open some eyes to an amazing opportunity that is about to pass us by, while some sleep, sit in on silly arguments, or spin never ending threads about watches that were never supposed to be submitted in the first place... As to your questions of the target audience for Jay's new release,.... I say again, as I have so many times, as many times as I have had to re-post the simple guidelines,... Jay is seeking a watch that will sell the the masses,... not necessarily our board,.. we come later, if, ever... seeing how egos are taking vision from the goal, down to the one... As for Oris,.. it's a dead horse... your spurs are only tenderizing dog meat,... Now that it's plain that you are only in this, to be seen on a podium, wearing your favorite watch,... and clearly not for the success of the project,... I end this discussion,.. my patience is wasted, as was my time.
-
This blunt confrontational attitude you proudly display is is getting a bit old... Trying to keep in character with your avatar ? I will leave your notions about pricing, including used Oris alone... I don't need to point your mouse for you or do your mathwork. I personally don't have anything against Oris,.. they have a fine history and a beautiful line of watches... however,.. if you would rise above your personal desires, to the needs of a first time investor into the manufacturing realm,... who needs to select a watch that will lessen his chances of failure, then you would cease your campaign which has sunk to near personal attacks, on a fellow member who is only representing the wishes of that dealer, in hopes that his wishes, will one day become ours. What you call 'snobbery', is to some, common sense,.. Many Will Not, touch a Rep that comes within 25% of a Gen purchase...and some even less %'s... however, of course the brand name plays a part in that decision... Popularity percentages of Replicas proves those facts.. Regarding your examples... a little Aikido here,.. I'm not the one who posted the Tags,...however they did out-perform the Oris submissions, are better known having famous personalities, as Tiger Woods & Uma Thurman,. and have been repped with success recently, but still don't come close to the success of other replicas such as Rolex, Panerai or Iwc.. so can you imagine Oris, which is much less known ? As for the 'old factory' Omega,.. well, Number One,..the Name Omega speaks for itself, and Number Two,.. that watch is no longer available,... ever wonder why ? This is All about Risk management,.. R11co,.. not personal agendas,... We handle this right and we win,.. we don't and we lose, ... so since you cannot overcome the lack of name recognition and name respect for the Oris company, or have not been able demonstrate by poll numbers the populatity of your beloved Oris,....please,.. you only waste yourself,.. and put me down for doing what I was chosen to do. Lastly,..I don't care which of these first submissions get repped.. I'm looking much further down the line,.. Lastly,... my Bond, Connery can turn your Bond over his knee and give him a proper spanking...
-
Let's speak of the 'Free Market'... You are one of a few,...that would pay 40% of the price of a genuine, for a replica.. Most would rather spend the few hundred more, for the genuine article, not to mention that one can obtain used gens for even less, which can bring your 40% figure upwards to 70%. You can keep your trigger finger away from two replica purchases and end up with a genuine. This is why serious manufacturers won't invest the money into producing these kinds of reps,.. no matter how much some may moan.... Sure you can find cheapo paste 2gethers, but not any watch worth wearing... imo.. Replicas are Replicas and will always remain so,..unless you are willing to invest for a gen case, hands, dial ect,.. but by then, in your gen Oris price range, you will have surpassed the gen price and surely the time invested,.. Illogical to even suggest, and a total waste of energy which can be utilized for watches that don't even come close to your 30k figure but are clearly out of range of what most would spend on a watch, which makes them perfect for replicas, not only for the seller but for us, the buyers.

Democracy And A Chance Of A Lifetime...
Richard Tracy replied to Richard Tracy's topic in General Discussion
A price minimum makes perfect sense,... Why rep a watch that will come to half the price of genuine ? I guess you didn't take the time to notice that Jay was requesting Eta movements, including a Swiss 7750. This is the sort of rot that wasted energy by spining the discussions in dead-end directions which stalled the process and wasted votes. Because I bent the rules for the sake of the Tag lovers, only means that I'm a part of the community and want what we all want. As far as 'credibility',... your perception of it, tells me much more about you, and about now little you know about me, my time here, and at the old rwg, and how ridiculous it would be for a person to post some fantasy lie, then waste precious hours trying to bring it to fruition. Not to mention that Jay himself is a part of this board and reads what goes on here as his income depends upon it. -

Democracy And A Chance Of A Lifetime...

Just for the record,.. watches were removed because they did not fit the requested criteria,.. Once posted, I did allow some to remain for a while, either to note interest for project 2, or to give the submitter time to prove that it could be repped. Regarding Tags,...Personally I find the brands though beautiful in some cases, out classed, and priced for mall fare, however had to admit, that they have a devoted following, thus due to a lack of posted alternatives, I allowed the Aquaracer to remain. The Titan, however great looking, was priced much to low. Lastly for those who at the remaining choices,.. the fault is your own, by your lack of participation, or your refusal to understand that Jay is investing for profit, not to fill obscure personal wish lists. There was demonstrated a sad, severe lack of foresight, failing to see, that once we fulfilled Jay's first requests, that we would later have the power to select, and to fix all those wiggles that drive us crazy.. What remains in the Iwc's, though some may balk or yawn, do fit the bill, maybe not as blockbusters, but enough for us to possibly climb to the next rung. That is all we need now, to make a start, so I for one Thank Pugwash for his devotion to the project and hope that Jay will see in his wisdom that these Iwc's are the way to go this time around. -
I was once told that the most important decisions, which effect our lives for good or for bad...are slept through or voted with mindless fingers,.. I never believed it,... Following are the final results for the once in a lifetime chance offered by a dealer for us, to decide what watches we wanted built. Do You,.. understand the significance of the Opportunity ?? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=17954 Fully 80% of what was submitted was done so with scant thought into the dealer's guidelines, and for other reasons, which would take a psychologist to explain,.. though I would say that the majority of members never participated, siting reasons such as; 1. 'I don't do polls.' 2. 'The watch I wanted was deleted, I don't care if it did not fit the guidelines' so fu*k the rest,.. Only a few members took the time to take full advantage, which by the way is for all of us,.. not just a few. Though I do appreciate and feel that we have found a few winners,... I think in future, I will take the advice of some who felt all along that the majority of people are like children, forever searching for sparkling new toys to slobber over, ways to take as much as they can, for as little money as possible,. or ring side seats for fights or broils,.. but when it comes to thinking,.. working or helping out,...they would rather not bother, but,.............. 'hey.. call me when you have the watches,.. and for a cheap price ,.." One High point is we have discovered a group of keen minds, and strong hands, which I hope will continue with me to bring a dream to life,.. A Small but powerful Team. I just regret that it could not be a community project,.. Sadly....when it comes to the majority of people.....Neil was right after all..

Same to you Ken,... Our daughter is 4 now ..how great it was to see her tear into her presents... Reminded me of what it felt like to live for this wonderful day... Cheers, and may you be up at em this new year....!

Yes,.. that he did...

Very sad day,... James Brown gave my generation so many hours of pleasure in his funky beats,.. I can remember whole neighborhoods rocking with his music,.. hearing the a song on the radio coming from cars, houses, hand helds, all at the same time,... teens dancing in parks and in the streets,... for groovy moments,.. everyone was totally taken away from our troubles ..and were all one, in the funk of JB,.. Rest in peace JB,... Music was forever changed when you came and made it your own...
-
MJP,... what is it again that you are asking ?? I would like to comment on the sentiments about the choices,..besides the Iwc's, which I think are dynamite in the making...though they will have come out eventually, we have a chance of getting there first, which is a milestone in itself, and which can lead to us leaping further up the time circle next time... The rest however, I have no strong feelings about, one way, or the other,..feeling that they are there partly because not enough people took the time to give us a hand... but hey, if you don't have a subsitute, then I say your complaint is a waste of time, better turned into energy for our next project... I want to thank everyone that helped us out,... with their ideas, submissions,..opinions especially, Admin for the clean and comfortable room, Ken for his support, & his time, Section-8 for working the polls...Pugwash for helping to screen the movements, and for submitting the best of what was available for Jay's guidelines,.. and for the enthusiasm of Amk... Have a wonderful Christmas, and may the next year bring us all the toys we at rwg want...
-
Is that a serious question ? Hi Estaban I guess you are one of the Sea Hawk disapointees,..?. Not to worry, it will fit in the next project perfectly.. However for this one,.. if you have some other suggestions that you feel would better serve the cause please let us know... As far as the Porsche design.. http://www.thewatchquote.com/Porsche-Desig...tor-No_3120.htm I think it's long overdue,.. Ferrari, Mercedes, Bmw, and now Porsche.. It's built by Eterna,.. one of the most well respected Swiss watch companies. http://www.eterna.ch/

Hello,.. I apologize to you, and everyone affected, ..for not notifying you first,.. but I can only handle so much of the work,..and believe it fair that everyone work their own submissions into the guidelines.... also I did post my concerns in many polls way ahead of time. Not to mention that the deadline is about here,.. which forced me to make cuts to all incomlete submissions that were holding key spots in the poll, as I had to give the other hopefuls which did fit the mold, time to make their last push. Regarding your submissions,.. It was my belief that the Ebel has an in-house movement, so the 7753, if we can subsitute would also have to be modded,... If, however I am wrong, and it will do,.. then, of course, I will push for the addition of a 7753,... though I can't promise the outcome... and also dread that it may open a whole can of worms,...with other members wishing they had the chance to offer 7753 run watches as well.. But you, will have to do the homework to find out the definite answer..and you only have a few days,. As far as the Iwc's yes I am attempting to have them counted as 'One' or at least 1.5... as I also believe that they can interchange parts. I will try,.. but again, I can only hope for the best. As for the Tag,... yes the price is lower, but we do have examples of Tag replicas that are very popular, so I may be able to get Jay to allow them,... Besides,.. I was under the impression that Doc found models that sell for about 3k... Lastly, Jay's top price for this first project is $6,000. For the Next Project it's $10,000,... Good luck,.. and remember this is only our first,... if you don't make it this time, you will be ahead of the curve in the next project... just remember,.. it's a sports watch,.. ..$10,000 max...

Go through the thread,.. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=16718 If you don't agree,.. and can prove otherwise,.. I will be more than happy to replace it,.. however keep in mind that Jay is not looking to mod movements, and does not wish for sunken date wheel situations.

Done.. Thanks for the idea, and support OS....

Hello Gang.. Thought I would post a version of this outside of the voting booth to make sure all see it,.. as the outcome will benefit everyone here.. According to the posts and tallies,.. the only watches which have survived the process are; 1. Iwc Aquatimer => Vote here: for Iwc Aqua http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=16703 2. Iwc Aquatimer Chronograph => Vote here: for Iwc Chrono http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=17406 3. Paul Picot Technograph => Vote here: for Paul Picot http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=16913 4. Tag aquaracer Chrono => Vote here: for Tag Aqua http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=16961 5. Porsche Flat Six => Vote here: for Porsche http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=17032 Three submissions.. possibly four.. will be sent to Jay. Please help make our first suggestions, be watches that will propel us into more control over what we want repped... All you need to do, is post your honest opinion on their feasability, potential popularity, and or do-ability, and, please,. if you have yet to vote, take the time to do so...we need and value all opinions... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showforum=129 If you missed them.. Guidelines are as follows; Since Jay is going to purchase a Genuine to model, cost of the Gen. should not exceed $6,000 max and $3000 minimum, for the most part,.. however popularity can trump this number. 1. This First Contest is for an All Occasion Watch. For sports, dinner and to the office. Size range of 38 to 44mm max. {note: if you, submit a 44mm watch, case thickness and curvature must conform to be about wear it with sleeves..} 2. Movements are eta-2836/2824/2892/6497/7750 Which means no strange complications, as alarms ect... If you need help, please inquire in a post to the experts. 3. It must be a watch which has never been replicated before. No improvements on current watches will be considered, this time around. This is our big chance.. let's make the most of it...

Who's Waiting For Angus' Chronomat Evolution?
Richard Tracy replied to Rolexman's topic in The Breitling Area
Count me in the GB for a Graphite version...the contrasts between polished, brushed and grey is mind bending... Though now that I take a closer look the TT dial, and your sophisticated white, both are tempting as well.... decisons, decisions,.... I think this will be a duo purchase... By the way PT, what is the lug width on these,..? I need to have a strap ready.. -
Hey Ubi,.. Cute Kids...! I have noticed that some of the my sons who looked just like me when they were babies changed as they grew and genetic influences took hold...and now look totally different. My daughter has changed four times looking first like me,.. then her mother and back and now at 4 looks like herself....but who knows how she will look when she's grown.... I don't however think I have ever seen a son look more like the father than Phoband's.... ..........Amazing !
-

Any Electronic Experts In The Field ?
Richard Tracy replied to 2005SUBMARINER's topic in The looney bin
I just went through this,... wanted to upgrade my size from my 32" Lcd, to 42 or higher,.. After weeks of research, including live views,.. I found that 1080i is for the future, not now.. even x-box 360 only transmits in 720i.. so it's not worth paying the premium for it now. Dlp has too many moving parts, and many, many owners experience horrible problems soon after they purchase, plus the picture quality is number three on the list, under Plasma and Lcd but above projection. Projection units are not feasable unless your room is dark or, you watch only at night.. I went with Plasma and am I glad I did,... My Panasonic 42" has the best picture that I have seen,.. native 720i,.. at a cost of $1200,... Compared to my Lcd the picture is Amazing ! If you enjoy Sports,.. believe me,.. you need Plasma,.. I can't believe that I even considered Lcd again... Yes there is a break in period however during this,.. the quality of the picture is still so far above any television I have ever owned.. -
Great Post from a Great Guy ! TT .. when I am away and think of Rwg,... you always come to mind ! Cheers and a memorable holiday season to you, Ken, Jtb, ByTor and the rest of the wonderful Mods,..The Pres. Admin,..as well as all the fantastic members we have here who make this place, fun, exciting and always entertaining,.. Rwg...The place to be, now and in the Future !
