  1. Great toy.... does it come in any other finishes ? Stainless would be nice.. Why does all this fun stuff come out when I'm too old to enjoy them ? Oh well I can always look over my son's shoulder ..
  2. Hello All, For those who are not aware, I'm going through a rough patch and must work over time, for the next few months, so I have not been able to give the RT forum the time and input that you all deserve. Therefore Pugwash has agreed to step in to fill the void,.. he has an eye like an eagle, knows his movements and loves watches like the best of us... Please give him your warmest welcome, and respect his abilities... He may even invite others to help him.. Thanks Puggy,.. I appreciate the help !
  3. What about the most important ?? Timing your climax control
  4. Thanks TT for giving me one of the most enjoyable afternoons of watch gazing that I can remember... Renews my passion for this sport, which was lagging of late due to life's pressures....
  5. Okay,.. maybe there is some sort of positive message there,.. maybe somewhere,.. but all I see is .. "step up to my timetable and my way of working this whole thing out, or I will spread my doubt about the whole affair." I personally don't want to be held accountable for your expectations and I'm sure that Jay would be perplexed by them... Have you considered that he may want to keep his decisions secret until he has a head start on his competition ? Maybe his money has been sunk into the Casino Royale, and he's awaiting to rebuild his nest egg,... and possibly he may even change his mind,.. I certainly don't have an inside track into his financial standing or his reasoning, but don't think that a month after the polls closed is a time to be looking at the process out of the corner of your eye... To me it displays a certain impatience that is counterproductive to any venture, especially in mid-hill-push. Take part in the dream or don't,.. there are no guarantees when investing only ideas, and not capital,... One thing that is for sure,.. if you don't dream and do,.. you accomplish nothing....
  6. AMK, I guess this is the other side of the coin of 'Frantic Enthusiasm ' that you displayed earlier, and more than a bit of frustration that Jay did not have the time to research your submission for you, despite it going outside of his guidelines. I think you need to understand that Jay is risking a bath tub full of cash to bring our ideas into reality, so must take the time to make the right decision. He has already taken us up on improving the Bond PO, which is just about complete,.. and has stated that he will replicate more than one on our list, which is only a list of five... Jay has proven time, and time again that he is a man of his word,.. so let's give him all the time and respect he needs to make the annoucement,... after all it's his money on the line. If you don't care to participate in further discussions.. that's your prerogative, however if you are going to throw rocks into the gears of creativity and fun for others... I think it's anti-progressive, and gives a negative impression that can mar us all.....
  7. Well I'm not going to personally discourage any polls,... I don't mind.. but for anyone that has, poll allergies,.. there will hopefully be threads for you to enjoy... This is reality... we can now pick and choose our replicas... we only need to participate... and that means even if you don't have any watch ideas... join in the threads and give your opinions.. we value your input !
  8. Imo,...though I agree that lug overhang is a no-no.. it's more about the muscularity of the wrist. I think any sports watch, or large watch must be on a wrist that fits the picture. I have seen many a 44+mm watch on small wrists that looked great because the wrist and arm was fit, veiny, and muscular,.. however on a wrist with no definition, or one that looks feminine is a mis-match Try to picture a strong gladiator wearing armor,... then picture the same armour on a weak looking person.. and you get the idea... Also like the guy way over-weight who is always wearing those sports outfits and running shoes... Anyone can build their arms and wrist and I feel that one should....especially if you enjoy large or sports watches.. However dress watches are a different story,...that need discussion as well.....
  9. JTB your last campaign was a success,... So looking forward to anything you wish to suggest,.. FxRandy,... I think the Sea Hawk will be a top runner,... Amk000, you will have to get some help on the movement possibilities,.... We need to make sure that it will be a stable & reliable watch as first concern...
  10. You could be right...Jetsons... Let's keep this area clear though, and post these in the RT forum...
  11. Yes, good idea, we want them to stay on some sort of positive track....
  12. Why not ?? Just post it in the Rt forum... Also,.. for all you poll haters, we are not encouraging polls,.. just conversation threads... Polls only need be posted when needed to clear up potential mega stars....
  13. For those who are not aware, Jay loved our list and will produce more than one on that list, though his choices will not be released until after the Chinese New Year,.. However Since we have the space and time, Jay would like it if everyone would continue to post their dream watches. 100% open to any movement, or style,..and even watches which are already in existance and only need improvement to become a best seller,.. just post, and your dream may come true... Again, For incentive, the poster of any watch which Jay choose to replicate will own the first box set as a free gift. Let the fun begin....
  14. Hey,.. I saw the reason for all the crooked markers,.. that girl had one eye & it was crossed....
  15. ....~sigh,.. we're tame deer in a hunting park for dealers with shotguns,....
  16. Whew, I hope this isn't a trend.. if my wife joined the forum... I would have to beg Admin for an alias... or run with my toys to the next sand box...
  17. Still ?? Years ago all models sold then besides the old factory,.. as far as I know had incorrect valves at 10,... and short hands.... Thus,.. the only way you would be right.. is if I had purchased a new model and replaced the hands,... I know you would never suggest such a thing... Soo.... Either you have a modded model,.. or there were more than one version... In either case,.. you are going off of fragmented information dug up in searches from a board that was pasted together after a crash & slash.. while I am going from the experience of being there...
  18. MB,.. my original name at old rwg was Jojidoman,.. DT came much, much later during an time period where I formatted my password and I could not access my old profile, and Blade did not respond to my assistance requests... Regarding the smp however, the hands were only one issue, and a minor one,.. the real deal was the case with the correct valve placement,..and according to my recollection, the old factory is the only factory which placed the valve in the right spot.. There may be two different versions,..however know that many of those with my version who by the way also called theirs 'old factory',... replaced their crowns, because I was pointed to the source and found the price to be not worth the effort,.. Lastly if you can call this model recent, though it is years old... then I will withdraw my offer and refund the buyer....
  19. MB,.. with all due respect, you are partially correct on this one...unless the seller who sold it to me is wrong... This watch is close to three years old,.. though I have owned it for close to that,... I don't know how long you have been around,..unless you have changed your name,... has it been that long ? You are correct about the pearl.. it came from a rolex ... Regardless, the insert needs to be changed ... Longshot knows this... However the crown is how these models, at least some of them, came,.. though some members switched them out with gen,.. I just never followed through... As for the date font,... who can say if they all came the same...? If you can show me any other lines, from that time period that came with correct valve placement, dial, hands, and even movements that were decorated to mimic the genuine,.. including the markings of 1120 on the rotor,..which were not 'old factory',.. then I will change my add,...no sweat,..
  20. Neils right,.. sometimes dealers have no idea what they are selling,...and are simply going off what the manufacturers are telling them... added of course, to the latest 'catch phrase' of the day,.. ... 7750b1 - 1:1 ect, ect ect... and don't even get me started on sizes... Pug is also right however, not so much for the experienced members here,.. but the nameless masses who never post, only use the forum like a quick drive through, scan the sales hype,...and buy, buy, buy,.. I wonder however if these dealers will change their website-posted sales slogans for our sake, since much of their business may not come directly from the boards....? Will they simply say to us,...'psssst,.. hey, this is for your ears only,..."
  21. This is about the 10th time we have seen this.... I'm too tired to go into the discussion again.. but maybe some others aren't .....
  22. May the memory of your loving spirit send waves of peace throughout the world !
  23. Excellent Pugwash.... gives all the serious aspects to allow one to make the proper decision on a purchase...!
  24. I always pay for the best in phone releases,.. purchased the Nokia 9290 Pda years ago for $500,... then jumped to the Motorola A780, the Top of the line Motorola which still has not been released to the US market.... but missed the quality of Nokia's intuitive speaker phone so went back and got the latest communicator,..9300i This I-phone however I will pass on.. For me usability is a key factor,... as I drive a lot,.. so I need a key-pad that I can dial without looking, so that virtual one won't do the job.. not to mention it will be hell to keep clean. The a780 had okay voice recognition,..for dialing.... but it was not really user friendly... and I found their quality, dispite their popularity... much below Nokia,.. that I consider the premier cell phone manufacturer... Since this I-phone can't pass over into the professional user market,.. i.e. business ect,.. but the price point places it clearly in that arena,.. I suspect it will suffer from a mis-fire...
