  1. Yes, for some watches I was able to recoup exactly what I paid for them, even the shipping charges. If the watch is modded or special in any way you will always find a buyer and usually you get the price you ask for. The RWG marketplace is just great.
  2. I think I lost around 400 euros overall. That's not too bad for being able to examine all those watches in person me thinks... and other hobbies are expensive, too...
  3. I just made up a list of all the watches I bought and sold again in 2010... it's a bit scary, I think I'm addicted... Anyway, I needed to see all those watches in person to get to the collection I now have. I'm pretty satisfied atm and I think 2011 will be much calmer... maybe 2 or 3 new reps. As my watchbox is full now (12 seats) I will have to sell one of my actual watches if I want a new one - that makes it harder, lol. Imagine I would have bought all the gens to find out they're not for me... I learned a lot here during this year - RWG is my favourite watch forum, rep and gen! Here's the list (with reasons for selling), enjoy: B&R 03-92 - Had issues + not good enoughSubmariner 6538 - Too small for meOmega SMP 300 - Bough the genGMT Master II 21J - No useLongines Hydroconquest Chrono - Got it in a trade, didn't wear itCeramic Sub - Just wanted to take a look at it, prefer my WM9 V2Explorer II Steve McQueen - Parted it out, not my styleAnonimo Chronoscopio Chrono - Too big for meGMT IIc - Didn't wear it, Still, if an updated model comes out I'll be in for one againOmega PO 42mm 2x - A cheapo and a good one, didn't wear themYachtmaster - Got a better one for my wifeTH Carrera Chrono - Nice but didn't wear itDouble red SD - Got it as part of a trade deal, not for meDatejust - See aboveLittle Hero PAM 111i - Got a gen 112Tag Heuer Carrera Day Date - Didn't wear itGen Citizen Nighthawk - I though I needed a quarz watch in my collection... 4. That's the spirit, Andy! Very nice, Nanuq! I'll do my best to follow your advice...
  5. If you're afraid to damage the insert, you could buy a cheap aftermarket insert and practice with that one. The dimensions should be the same?! It's worth it, the gen inserts are great! Here's mine again...
  6. Only the insert is gen, bezel is BK's transformer. I got it all as a package from another member. If you still want to know what I paid for it drop me a PM.
  7. I know what you mean, it's exactly the same for me. I don't care about anyone identifying my watch as a rep, I don't try to pass them off as gen anyway. Still, I hate those little imperfections on our reps. If I had the funds, I'd buy the gens of all my favourite watches, but as I haven't... well, I guess I'll have to live with those little flaws.
  8. LOL... picture links lead to wristwatch-shops.com where you can buy the watch for $ 388... that's pretty bold...
  9. LOL, you're much older than me... Happy Birthday, mate!
  10. Eels - I like birds... I Like birds... Hmm, embedding doesn't work... sorry.
  11. PAM today... with Christmas background... ;-)
  12. I'm pretty satisfied with my V2 - I doubt anyone can tell it's a rep without examining it really closely. That's enough for me - I really don't care about fraction of mm differences in crown positions...
  13. O.T. That can't be my fingers in the last pic...
  14. Thx! Got the Transformer from Redwatch, not from BK directly. Due to customs issues here he shipped it to the UK first where a nice scottish member passed it on to me. It was worth the wait. At first I considered selling the gen bezel insert but after comparing it to the rep one I have to say it really makes a huge difference!
  15. Hi folks, as a lot of people asked me to show some pics of my little Rolex collection recently... here we go! Unfortunately the photos were all taken in artificial light (it's winter here and pretty dark...). I will take better ones if the weather decides to improve. First of all, the groupshot: Starring: DSSD v5 with BK datewheel and Vac-lume, BK WM9 v2 Sub with ofrei pearl, BK Transformer GMT II with genuine Pepsi bezel insert (thx to Redwatch!). And a couple of detail pics: Cheers, Whatever123
  16. Happy Birthday, mate! I hope you have a great day! And maybe my package will arrive today as a present...?! ;-)
  17. Yep, nice one. But this topic is already covered here:
  18. Hi there, I thought it must be possible, it's the same watch after all. But after close inspection I am not so sure anymore. Ist it possible or is the watch head different / modified, too? Has anyone done it (or vice versa)? Thanks, Whatever
  19. Thanks for the answer automatico, that clarifies it! 0.5mm too small... stupid buggers... So I need a noob crystal. Got one to spare?
  20. How about BKs Transformer GMT II? Will it take a gen or a clark crystal?
  21. By the way, the AR on my gen SMP is barely visible - if visible at all... so it's probably OK if the replacement crystals have very weak AR.
