To be honest ...you really need the crystal if you can find one and of course the CG...Its night and day difference with any rep part modded or not....as C said the gen bezel also makes a difference.. But you can add as you go ...remember any rep dial 217 or 127 is easily seen for being a rep ... just need to look at the numbers..again night and day The other big key is the finish of the case.... So yes well worth it as long as you plan to keep going, it doesnt stop with the dial or it will be lost on the watch as a whole..

Would Breitling Bentley GT 44mm still be considered super rep?

The logic is absolutely right.... But OP produce variations as I mentioned so the logic in my experience doesnt follow the rule.. Referring back to my 000, which I mentioned previously is the brightest OP lume I have had in my hand, it is brighter than the gen 111s I have had, though say my Gen 088 wasnt as bright as the 111s and they were brighter than the 005 So as with all things PAM there is no certainity and I would say that applies even with most models in the same series let alone other series...

Between the EL and Gen or the 127 and the 217? If the former the variations vary as EL 127 dials vary on versions Things like position of the 1950 The thickness of the font The finish and texture of the base paint The colour of the dial writing Position of LSML The shape of the cutouts most notably the shape of the 6 on the 127 Lume If the latter Then one is a destro Marina Militare dial the other a Luminor Panerai though both have the above flaws barring the 1950 and the 217 EL is flawed at cutout of 9 and 6 The cututs have never been perfected on either dial and are really the easiest tell with all reps...

Hopefully A's project will produce some spot on Fiddy dials

Personally as long as I could prove postage..ie tracking etc I would expect the dealer to accept all the risks given the reason for return and indeed all dealers I know would do that..

First off mate...Congrats Wear it well There are a number of threads discussing the new Flybacks etc, of course this one the 213 will have the more r less the same flaws as the others given they came from the same factory. The CG lever doesnt look fully closed in your pic? The main flaws with these but are really being picky now The crystal distortion at the slopes is more than gen, of course gen is sapphire...this is mineral/synthetic The numerals are over so slightly off especially the 6 REGTM position on CG etc Stack is off to gen Lume isnt as good as gen but still great rep lume Faux Pusher (of course) Movement is incorrect Case shape and construction is off per gen Some finishing on the case is not per gen notably the chrono pushers CB inscriptions are slightly off to gen Font on dial is slightly thinner and off to gen But overall this is a great watch, I love them....I am just being anal mate You couldnt spot most of these flaws without having the gen in your hand to compare. I do have these myself so I aint trying to make you feel bad mate and I am happy to wear mine though I did redo the pin and CG slightly as I wasnt quite happy with it..

I got so close to putting one in mine...but settled for LHs Destro movement which I dont regret.....untl I saw your pics !!!! Git!! ;) However I have a gen crown and bezel Wear it well my friend and enjoy ... Always like the Alli with white but can I suggest as an other option you consider a JV or Cashmere Gold mate it so makes a difference to the look of the watch.... Lovely Lovely..... Have you started passing out the cigars ??? If so where is mine !! And what you calling it ??

LOL I spoke a fair bit to Mike about this regaring the coating... he suggested that the DLC could give you a PreV look especially the way Avitt can do it but with that you will not get the patina that PVD develops over time, of course using Robs PVD which I understand is to and by the original OP coaters...this will. If you went for say something like a 202a then this is much lighter than most PreV finishes the gen is more of a pencil grey which of course DLC can easily achieve then a nice MM dial non matching and you are getting all your after.. You could also polish down the PVD to achieve this as well.... In terms of accuracy either coating will look too new its just one will stay that way....although by the time the PVD does you will probably of moved on in terms of taste though with the DLC you could think about alternative dials more contemporary that will come out over time etc You could try distressing the PVD but IMHO this never looks quite right and is a fine line between getting it right and cocking it up...

Maybe another thread mate

Yes mate you ARE Nuts !!!! Sorry what was the question !!??? I know a few guys are talking about getting a 360 dial made up....I think Rolf was one... I think he also talked about putting a complete project together.. As for using the case given its friction fitted I think you will have problems but contacting Avitt direct is your best bet... Sam has put together your idea and has posted pics though I think it was a gen dial.... I think if your up for just a DLC and vintage why not open your options go for a PreA or even PreV with the 111 case... Non matching dial etc At the end of the day concentrate more on what you like, in this particular case, and dont worry so much about making it a true rep... DLC and vintage lume is an awesome combination... You have so many options mate.... I could go on and on and on and on..........and on and on..... and on and on and on........ Hold on I do anyway !!! Answer to the last question is yes I had planned one...

Advice on whether I should send my PAM 288 back.
PeteM replied to momo650's topic in The Panerai Area
For info like that there are some great stickies and guides for noobs that give explanations and guides to terms and other great info etc... I would really recommend you read these... But to answer your question Drop Shipping is a term used to describe an item which is not given any sort of inspection or QC of any kind...its usually sent direct without the dealer ever having seen it... -
Zig, and I am sure he will jump in if I am talking crap, uses or matches his lume to OEM standards though he does have a stronger lume in limited quantities (he did a thread on it regarding strength duration etc) I think he calls it A++. I have it on a couple of mine.. I havent seen the 005 in my hand but going by the other new ones I would say they are comparable in initial glow and pretty good uncharged though duration isnt as good compared to my own and previous... Having said that the gens do vary depending on model and possibly series and build run.... PAMs are not simply ratios of C1+C3 there are variations so there is no hard and fast rule to OP lume.. Thats the great thing about what Rob can do for us...not only his skill in application but how he mixes it and uses the correct colour for the model age etc. Of all my gens the brightest was the 000, it is absolutely stunning even in the brightest of day light it lights up... I guess there will be the usual QC variations in the rep lume as well as the actual way its suppose to look next to the gen.... I also understand that aftermarket lume comes in varying quality as with any product so again the rep lume could well be a "weaker" version or incorrectly applied for example on sausage dials application is more involved if done correctly... and when reading comments from Chris (Flav) I remember him saying how whats under the lume can effect the quality of what you see ie the base coats etc I do note that the sandwich dials can have a slight grey to it uncharged which would give me the impression of a lesser quality...
