    I ordered the smooth rubber option and they sent the watch with the ribbed rubber as per gen. So I think the smooth refers to the ribbed strap. From what I hear the gummy straps are not yet ready? I may be incorrect.

    From my research here, I believe that the best thing to do for the longevity of these secs@12 is to leave them hacked when they are not in use. This, I believe helps in reducing the wear of the gears etc of the movement.
