  1. IS that PVD? Looks like it's blued or something to me.. I think it's a 000 Logo like Andrew sells.
  2. Thanks Viennawatch, I'll tell him, and remember myself if I go there in the near future. And sorry, Pugwash for using your travelougue for this.
  3. This guy actually looks like a viking, albeit a bit chubby and old enough to be ashamed of not having died in combat yet..
  4. Thanks, TTK! I'll keep that in mind. He'll probably be there in december and certainly in february. Stays at the same hotel every time, done so for 12 years. @narikaa, my missus has a ship owning father.. I have to stay a while.
  5. This is Vidar: Here he's telling his friends about the time he stole a garden chair from that dumb Mickey Rat. Interestingly, he was an unwanted child...
  6. Hallelujah!! ..Alejandro Fuentes has a REALLY annoying voice btw. Sounds like me when I am on the toilet talking on the phone. But Enjoy Insane!
  7. Great post, Pugwash. This is where I'll go when my kids are grown up, and the missus has thrown me out. And nice to see some pics other than the usual beach and party ones my friend shows me. I almost went to Jomtien Beach this summer, but the long flight with a 14 month old baby made me decide otherwise and choose somewhere closer. My friend is there 2-3 times a year, and brings home all kinds of rickety low quality reps, I'd really like for him to find a few decent ones, and any kind of tip on where to go would be appreciated. He's always been a firm believer that the ones he's bought are the high end ones until he saw my recent buys.
  8. I've used statistics and the rule of averages myself from time to time when I need to prove a point to someone.. But in reality it does not do much for you when you stand there with a gun pointed to your head, asked to hand over your 'norwegian gold'....
  9. I'm sure that limits your options a LOT.. Go ask an ICE-dealer or customizer, they have contacts all over the world, or maybe they'll build some for you.
  10. In my part of norway it's just one guy doing it all.. His name is Vidar, and he is responsible for 19 crimes. So it's like 19 crimes per 1 people.. So in a way, my part of norway has more crime than NYC ;P To quote former Aberdeen and Brøndby manager Ebbe Skovdhal, a genuine Scandinavian coaching legend (cough); "Statistics are like miniskirts, they reveal everything except what's most important."
  11. A while ago I was looking for something like this too. I must say I have not come across a player that's built directly into the headrest with a monitor. My buddy custom made a housing that he placed inside a head reast, of course sticking out a little bit, with a hole made for the slot-in. Kinda like the ones you show a pic of. Have you tried googling the name of those? Edit: I searched ebay and came up with these: http://cgi.ebay.com/PAIR-HEADREST-BUILT-IN...1QQcmdZViewItem Their ebay store looks to have a few of the sort.
  12. Thanks Dani. I see what you mean, and it's no excuse, but this was supposed to be a 2km drive to a couple of his girlfriends. He does not have a licence, I doubt he has much experience with bikes, and he probably drove in a sweater and jeans. It's probably done 1000s of times every day in Norway, but he caught a bad break. Wrong place at the wrong time. It's not so much the fear of death that gets to me, but knowing that I don't want people, particularly my daughter, feeling this way about me if I catch a break like this.
  13. Thanks Nanuq. They say he hit the rear of the truck, actually bouncing back from it, no brake marks.. He WILL be lucky to get out of this in one piece. He's a tough guy, and I know he'll pull through. It'll be a long night.
  14. Thanks, Ken.. Things sound a bit better now, at least we know he's alive.
  15. Thanks Slay.. Happens so fast, doesn't it? I've been thinking about getting the MC-licence this fall, but this made me think twice or more.. I know I am a bit throttle-happy, and we don't have any racetracks around here.
  16. Well, then it happened again.. Hopefully without loss of life this time. My 18 year old cousin, borrowed 125cc, truck crossing the road.. The rest anyone can imagine. We've heard he's got a fractured skull, fluids in a lung, multiple broken bones and is being operated as we speak. Sent by helicopter to hospital 2 hours ago. some confusion as to whether he was responsive or not.. We're hoping for the best.
  17. I think they look extremely cool! 50mm U-Boat watches THOUSANDS OF FEET MS 1 R €2200,- = $2750 (this is the one in your picture, Quarks) THOUSANDS OF FEET MS Y €2400,- THOUSANDS OF FEET MS O €2400,- This was a dutch site..
  18. No big surprises today, Porto thrashed HSV, Celtic did better than I expected against Benfica, and Arsenal were ripped off in Moscow, that was NEVER a handball! ..but [censored] happens, next time it will go our way. Arsenal didn't play well, and got unlucky in the end.
  19. hehe Chief! If only I could say this is the worst thing I have (probably) messed up.. The list is long and includes a $200,000 shaft generator.. ;p j/k Best thing is to not let it get to you. Well.. I decided to push Joe's thing too, and lo and behold, it's now running damned close to the Atomzeit clock. I guess we'll see the result of the tinkering in a few months.
  20. Thank you ryyannon! I LOVE the sound of a beefy V8.. Gunning the throttle gives me goosebumps, and a big smile every time.. Who cares about gas prices? I sold my Classic Glastron Crestflite 2 months ago, and I miss firing the 302 up a few times a week, and just cruise around the harbour, sitting back letting engine warm up and dream about summer again... I am looking for a new boat now, but it'll be something without a soul and a V8.
  21. OMG! You guys are scaring me now! So you're saying that what I have done by twisting the thing pointing to the +/- is [censored]ed it all up? It seemed so logical! I twisted it as far to the right as I could with a screwdriver, and the watch is a lot closer to keeping good time now! It used to be 5-6 minutes a day too fast, now it's more like 1,5 minutes.. I havent touched the thing Joe is pointing to at all.. And that's really what I have should been pushing UPWARDS in the picture? Can I save the day by adjusting it back to where it was, and then push the two-brass-dot-lever? Thanks for answering though No excuses, I'm a tarzan mechanic..
  22. He seems to schedule soap baths in the weekends, and I am sure the experience is much more pleasant than answering e-mails, so I wouldn't itch a hole in my arm the first few days.
  23. Yes, just what the topic said............. My Panerai 192 is running a bit fast, and I want to slow it down.. We're talking a few minutes a day here, and it's not really a big deal, but I'd like to see it corrected nonetheless. I have tried to adjust it myself, using the thing, but thing pushes against the other thing so there's no more room for adjustment.. For you laymen out there who won't understand the jargon, I have added a photo. What I am asking here is: Is there any way for me to slow my watch down a bit more? Preferably a way that won't include me sending the watch off around the world, asking a watchsmith or having to atomize the watch completely. Any help appreciated BTW: This thread didn't help me: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...hl=running+fast
