  1. Tonight's games: Lille - Anderlecht 2 - 2 AEK Athens - Milan 1 - 0 Arsenal - Hamburg 3 - 1 Celtic - ManUtd 1 - 0 Benfica - Kopenhagen 3 - 1 S.Bucuresti - D.Kiev 1 - 1 R.Madrid - Lyon 2 - 2 CSKA Moskva - Porto 0 - 2 Many good games from what I saw tonight, though I concentrated on Real - Lyon.. Carew had an amazing game for Lyon, and they should have got more out of this game. Arsenal almost caught a loss, but picked it up in the last half, scoring in the 83. and 88. minutes. Good thing too, with Porto beating group leaders CSKA. Nothing settled yet.. Walcott made all the difference when he came on for Ljungberg after 75 mins. Beautiful win for Celtic, giving Utd a race for the group! Congrats JTB! Milan losing was a bit surprising, a good keeper in Sorrentino kept Athens ahead. 2. I watched this on youtube.. There was a 15 minute thing they removed, now there's a 3 minute clip left. Richards just lost it, plain and simple.. I doubt very much that he's a flaming racist. He's not really a stand-up comedian, and I don't think he knew how to handle the situation where he was being heckled. He lashed at the first thing he could think of that would insult the hecklers, so it was racist. Racism is easy, poking fun in a satirical way is harder. It got out of hand and he couldn't pick it back up, so he probably freaked a little extra. Did he say he was on drugs? Or drunk? I didn't catch that.. But drugs CAN be a personality changer, and a catalyst for outbursts like that. No excuse though, I don't care as much about him insulting a "world of black people", most have heard worse.. I care more about him going off at the black people that were there. And btw, he made $13mill in the last season of Seinfeld. Probably less the previous 8 seasons. He also gets royalities from the DVD-sales.. (I heard the guy playing Newman got $75,000 for each little appearance he made)
  3. Great story! Vivid and entertaining. You made me want to go there and experience it all
  4. Yeah! I was thinking 'damned watch nerds, making jokes I don't get.." Then I saw it!
  5. I don't know how much this matters in all of this, but having bought a watch from the seller in question, I have nothing but good to say about him. He answered my questions promptly and even tried to help me out later when I was having some issues with the watch... (these issues were my fault alone) Packaging was more than adequate, and it would take some nasty banging around to damage the watch in transit. Of course, this was my experience with him, and others have their own experiences. Lastly I have to join the ones asking you to give him some time.
  6. "You want us to come over and shoot them, sir?"
  7. For some reason I am thinking "What's so funny 'bout peace love and uuuunderstanding" when I hear that. Also a great song.
  8. Done! Payola riffs! It's decent music that, jonthebhoy!
  9. It works fine for me both in IE and FF.. It's a bit slow at times, but ok.
  10. Fine.. I'm not going to start a pissing match over this, DBR.. But you did take it the wrong way. (I had JTB's post in mind when I posted) In all fairness I couldn't say much about my team's performance. I was just happy they won! And pointing out your away record was meant as a side note, and maybe a reason why the score ended 3-0. Arsenal played like they have done all season.. Wenger does not let up, he's still in search for perfect football. The reason we beat teams like ManU and Liverpool and draw/lose to 'lesser teams' is simply that we meet playing teams in the former.. (not counting CSKA in Moscow) Opening up and allowing runs and through balls. And we must be reading different sources, as in mine, Wenger has accepted Pardew's private apology and moved on, admittedly after a week of sulking. In our weekly supporter's e-mail he even apologized to us, and said it happened out of love of the game. That said, a manager being a bad loser, showing his feelings and reacting to a provocation is fine in my book. His heart is in it! As much as I dislike a manager like Mourinho, I can't shake a stick at him standing up for his team and his players. I respect that. 'Gerrard running the team all alone' didn't come from any media, it was my impression while watching the game. He's one of the players I respect most, and seeing him work so hard without getting any results breaks a midfielder's heart. Seeing your team lose, and hearing others talk about it, always stings.. It's part of the game. I am sorry if I came across as a gloat. I'd never do it unprovoked as I know it might come back and bite me in the ass next weekend.
  11. What you mistake for gloating and provocation, dear friend, is relief on my part.. Watching the game with 3 very serious Liverpool supporters I was very nervous, and with Liverpool's early offside goal I saw another disaster heading our way.. I do not think Liverpool is a bad side, and I am sure us catching you on a bad run and on a bad day helped the result. Don't try to make this any less of a feat though, any top premiership team beating another 3-0 is an accomplishment. Watching Gerrard trying to run the tactical setup of a team all alone, failing to keep the ball in the team more than 3-4 movements is not good fun for someone who loves football. All english teams need a 'cleaner' in midfield, like Gilberto is for Arsenal, and Sissoko has been for Liverpool. You missed three vital markings, and it resulted in three goals. Sami Hyypiä didn't do his job, and again, Gerrard had to organize the defence. (I loved how he called out Riise for missing his mark) And about the booing; It's a well known fact that Arsenal along with other big London clubs attract a lot of 'not-so-devoted' spectators, there to see good football, and voicing their dissatisfaction when 'their' team is struggling.
  12. Well, Arsenal won 3-0 tonight, a much needed break from poor games and few goals. Nice to see chances being taken care of for once. Liverpool continues their run of shitty away games.. 5 losses in a row now? 1-12 in goal difference? Rafa should do something about that defence of his.. They were no match for the efficient and playing Gunners..
  13. Damn it... I found an 'erotic film' with a guy wearing a Panerai.. I'd screenshot it and show you, but I wont.... Unless we have a topic called "Watches in Adult movies/TV" Maybe I can edit her ass out.. (or would that be disrespecting her?)
  14. Yeah, I agree with 2005SUBMARINER, I played a lot of Gibsons, ESPs and other Les Paul clones before I bought my Epiphone... I might not have an acute ear, but I liked the feel, sound, playability and price of the Epi I got.
  15. I don't notice it being any slower at home on a 4Mb line, but posting when I am on the boat, on the satellite connection, takes forever now!
  16. You guys play some beautiful instruments! I've never convinced myself of being a good enough player to fork out the big dough for a guitar, so I've stuck with lower end stuff since I started playing. It hasn't got in the way of the joy of playing though, and I might treat myself to something more 'collectable' when I grow up.. I mostly play an Epiphone 'Goth' Les Paul, it's been beefed up with a Fender Enforcer humbucker at the bridge, other than that it's still stock, but I have been thinking about putting EMGs in it. I call it Satan, because of its looks and sound.. Through a rectifier emulator it's so dark, crisp and beefy, it's perfect for metal riffs and shredding. I bought and sold a lot of guitars a few years ago, including a beat up old strat (that's probably a vintage now), a few strat copies, a Hohner SA that I miss and a Jazz bass copy of sorts. I have an old BC Rich The Bich, a cort western and some other junk guitars including my very first electric, an Applause strat copy. I think I'll buy a 12-string acoustic when I get more room for guitars. I mostly play through a Roland Micro Cube with a headset, or a Peavey Studio Pro with a celestion speaker in it. I am looking for a BOSS OD-1 pedal if anyone can get me one cheap, I had one of these, but not knowing how scarce they are, I traded it for some books to be nice to a guy.
  17. Happy to see you make the dealer's section, Sash5! I know you as a good guy, and I am sure you'll have a lot of pleased customers.
  18. Nice Pugwash I always wanted to learn to play the piano.. And buy a huge grand piano for my living room.. I have a buddy that can play just about anything he hears, and it's so cool when he sits down, asks people what they can sing, and starts playing.
  19. In all fairness to why this discussion was sparked off, cibOrgman DID say he surfed the net on his spare time.. Of course some employers might not like you to surf the net at all, but I really feel that if it does not get in the way of your duties or general company productivity it's ok. My former employer at the shipyard showed up in the mess one day at our lunch break. He called for our attention and started telling us how much time is wasted in a year by people going to their break 2 minutes early and leaving the mess 2 minutes late. The numbers were enourmous! And went on to talk about the smoke breaks and so on. Knowing all this I can't see what's bad about reading a forum on your own time.
  20. No, sorry, 2005SUBMARINER, I was talking about Pugwash' video
  21. I didn't notice the music the last time! Heh Is that you playing a midi Piano? It's good stuff! 2005SUBMARINER, I bought a Roland MicroCube last year. Great little amp for single jamming and just relaxing with a guitar. And the Mesa Boogie rectifier emulation is awesome! It runs 10 hours on batteries too.
  22. Yeah, I followed the thread People's interpretations of famous solos or licks are much more interesting than a straight up copy, then it's just about skills, and skills are uninteresting. Imagination and feel is what I like in guitar players. I play the guitar myself, and I have done a couple of stand-in rythm sessions for local bands.. And I am not half bad I think, I have been playing since I was 13, but I still have huge issues about playing in front of people unless I am three sheets to the wind at some late night party with an acoustic.. I just never took that step to get a real band together and jam.
  23. Trust me on this: YOU DON'T! We played in a school basement bomb shelter, riffing out Metallica and Guns 'N Roses. We did record a few songs, and even made a few. I have not listened to them in years.. I hope nobody gets hold of them before my future wedding. We did a sweet Sweet Home Alabama though..
  24. Please don't let this drop to the level of taunting people.. I enjoy a nice ass as much as the next guy (that sounds wrong), but I removed the chick in my signature after a sincere PM from someone asking me to remove it. It all comes down to respect.
