  1. Great idea for a thread! My first driver was an inherited White '79 Ford Taunus, with bright red velour interior and a black vinyl roof. My mates called it "The Persian Whorehouse". ..good memories The first car I owned myself was a 1983 SAAB 900 Turbo Lux-edition. My very car was the most expensive SAAB ever sold up until 1984. A bigshot in my town was the one who ordered it, and before he could drive it, it was stolen for a joyride by the town drunk. It had every option you could get. Some of them: -Scottish Leather seats -AC (aftermarket) AND sunroof, power everything -Rack Clarion stereo, 6 units! Filled the lower part of the console. (I still have this) -and best of all, a mobile phone! (which of course was outdated by the time I bought it.) It was a fun and fast car, with the famous swedish "ketchup"-Turbo that smacked you when you least expected it, you could adjust turbo pressure with a wrench yourself, and needless to say, I kept the boost in the red area. A real BMW-killer in its day. I still regret selling it in parts, as I would now have restored it and kept it around. I think it was a limited run of 1200 cars or so in '83 and '84.
  2. @dbr I came from Turkey last summer, and it being a high-risk country for drug smugglers, they checked our luggage quite thoroughly. I had 5 reps and 2 genuine watches with me and they were all looked at on entering norway, and put back in my suitcase. So I think we can say they are pretty laxed about it. They asked for a receipt on my digital camera, but when I said I didn't have one they didn't pursue it. BTW: I spend half of my days at sea in and around Lofoten, it's a beautiful place in the summer. These days it's uninviting, dark, craggy and cold.. I hope you'll enjoy it!
  3. Yup Definite chuckle here.
  4. Why don't you try a LITTLE bit, and see if it fits.. If not, do a little more.. etc etc..
  5. After I lost my Glashütte Karee under mysterious circumstances in 2005.. Always off.. Bakers don't wear rings when they bake for a reason..
  6. I didn't mean for this to turn into another "attack USA".. ..our friendly cousins to the west. But I do think most of these warning are made to prevent people seizing the opportunity of lawsuit abuse.. I have no doubt people are looking for a way to "score big" against the big brand names. Oh BTW: Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1
  7. We need to have the obvious stated to us once in a while.. You've all seen 'em.. Good for a few chuckles at least. Common Good Take a look at the other years.. A warning on a bottle of dried bobcat urine used to keep pests away from garden plants: “Not for human consumption.” This is a site dedicated to "Restoring Common Sense to American Law". The wild lawsuits in America (and elsewhere, no doubt) will eventually result in higher cost on the consumer level..
  8. Yup.. I caught myself inclining my head during our King's new years address.. ..to see what he was wearing.. It looked like an Orange PO btw!
  9. A clip of snowboarder Terje Håkonsen dropping down Alaskan mountain 7601.. (you need a new name for it Nanuq!) It takes balls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rd8AJdcnw4A Why didn't I continue snowboarding and some make money doing insane stunts? Even the helicopter pilot got skills.
  10. Well, happy birthday section8! ..and Gates too! ..treat yourself to a nice watch..
  11. I love how we can see the reflection of your face in the polished metal!
  12. I would think all the black make-up would ruin the shine in the leather.. BTW: I never really thought about making straps of old belts.. My grandfather had a lot of really wide leather belts, the double tang-buckle kind.. I remember playing with them as a kid. Maybe I should take a look at them
  13. WEDDING NIGHT Honeymoon at Home: Fred and Mary got married but can't afford a honeymoon, so they go back to Fred's Mom and Dad's for their first night together. In the morning, Johnny, Fred's little brother, gets up and has his breakfast. As he is going out of the door to go to school, he asks his mom if Fred and Mary are up yet. She replies, "No". Johnny asks, "Do you know what I think?" His mom replies, "I don't want to hear what you think! Just go to school." Johnny comes home for lunch and asks his mom, "Are Fred and Mary up yet?" She replies, "No." Johnny says, "Do you know what I think?" His mom replies, "Never mind what you think! Eat your lunch and go back to school." ; After school, Johnny comes home and asks again, "Are Fred and Mary up yet?" His mom says, "No." He asks, "Do you know what I think?" His mom replies, "Ok, now tell me what you think?" He says: "Last night Fred came to my room for the Vaseline and I think I gave him my airplane glue."

  16. Great that it all turned out ok for you! A good tip is to put a thin woman's stocking on the end of your vacuum pipe.. with a little bit of it inside the pipe.. Anything larger than your normal dust will be caught in the stocking. Happy new year!
  17. For those of you lucky enough to have missed these news: Harnett County woman charged in castration LILLINGTON - Police charged a Harnett County woman with malicious castration Tuesday after investigators say she injured a man's genitals during an argument. Chief Frank Powers said the arrest was the first of its kind in the Harnett County town. "This was a very unique situation, to say the least," Powers said. Rebecca Dawson, 34, who lives on Stockyard Road, used her hands to assault a 38-year-old man from Fayetteville, police said. The man was transported to Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn with injuries described by Powers as moderate. He was treated in the emergency room and released, a hospital spokeswoman said. Dawson and the man had been drinking with a few other people at the home of the man's girlfriend, on Summerville Mamers Road in Lillington, police said. Powers would not release other details or say what prompted the assault. Several of the witnesses at the home were intoxicated when officers tried to interview them, Powers said. Dawson was charged with four felonies, Powers said: malicious castration, (as opposed to what? Charitable castration?) assaulting an officer, spitting on an officer and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $150,000. According to state law, malicious castration includes cutting off, maiming or disfiguring a person's genitals with the intent to hurt the victim or render him impotent. -So she basically ripped his balls off.. along with other stuff you might want to have around. The guy ended up with 50 stitches, and they saved his genitals. "Moderate damage" HAH..
  18. I had the exact same problem.. Here are pics of what you need. check post #8, and good luck. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=10564&hl=
  19. You guys sure took a huge dump on Corgi's friendly presentation. From what I've seen he might be an asset to us all, so maybe the nationalism/counter-nationalism could be discussed in a more suitable thread? (though we all know how that will end.. or never end..) Welcome in Corgi!
  20. Some of it well said, Slay But you are missing what being a "preppy" is all about.
