I still think it is the light. Here is a pic of a genuine that clearly shows the seconds hand.

@nelly - do a search and you will find an excellent tutorial By-Tor posted about the various GMT movements and how they operate. The seconds hand should be polished stell and in certain photos it does appear black. @Spookycord - NO real mod to the CG itself. Regarding the DSN hands. The reason I went with his GMT hand had to do with the movement swap. The 2836 takes a different size GMT hand and DSN has the correct hand for the 2893 (1.. I am awaiting the Cyclops from the latest effort led by Chieftang. Thanks for the comments.

Nautilus is a good choice but keep in mind that it is a very expensive genuine ($19K) so consider that in your calculus of "Can I pull it off" How about the Breitling Super Ocean Steelfish or the new Breitling Heritage?
