  1. I have a 172 with the old DSN case, where he treated a SS case with Titanium oxide and the result was a very nice Grey/blue cast to the brushed SS. I think works well and the weight is better for the finished product. Rogerwine
  2. Calling out perceived motives on a rep-watch site is the best example ever "of the pot calling the kettle black". Also a good example of "projection".
  3. Thank you for the in-depth review and a great learning experience. As usual, Out f------ standing !!! Rogerwine
  4. Congrats ! I know how you feel. I am still glowing with the 196 that I bought from you. I love the watch and the strap. Rogerwine
  5. I think you could sell it between $800 and $900 and many would consider that a deal. Rogerwine
  6. I think what Rolex does to produce their Ceramic bezels and what rep producers do to create a look alike ceramic piece might be two very different processes, however I don't think that it would be any kind of a stretch for rep producers to come up with a real ceramic bezel insert. There are many Chinese companies that produce hundreds of ceramic products including the watch bodies used by Chanel and other fashion watch produces. They work with Tungston and also inlay metals and precious metals into ceramic jewelry as well and they do it very cheaply. So my guess is that however expensive it is for Rolex to produce the bezel, it will have no bearing on the costs for rep manufacturers to produce a look a like bezel and thus we have no real reason not to expect a ceramic product bezel to be used for these models. Rogerwine
  7. So you are all saying that none of the J12 reps are ceramic either? Or the HBB ? If those parts can be made ceramic then why not a bezel insert? You can buy a high end "All ceramic J12 rep for under $200.00. Rogerwine
  8. There is nothing new here except the dial. Still Faux power reserve dial. Rogerwine
  9. The reason the watch doesn't work is that it needs a new battery, LOL Rogerwine
  10. I have an Orsa Sea Angler from the very 1st Orsa run and even at 44mm it's an impressive watch. I can't imagine the heft of this baby. I put mine on a brushed watchadoo bracelet and it really looks good. I have always loved the bezel on these models, very strong and clean look. Rogerwine
  11. 3 weeks ago I was in the Capitol Grill in Phoenix and 3 suits came in all wearing Pams on SS bracelets (2 autos and a 196), all from the same law firm. It was a very impressive site. I was wearing my HBB ss and they noticed so we struck up a conversation and I lied through my teeth. They were impressed that I knew their model numbers. Then last week I am interviewing a young man for a regional sales position and he shows up wearing a 063. Turns out he is a RWI forum member. Now that is really narrowing it down. By the way, he got hired. Rogerwine
  12. Now that it's July 1st, anybody have any info or update as to when the new Skyland will appear? Rogerwine
  13. Check out Hontwatch in the dealers section on RWI. He has listed a new edition 253, claiming to have correct font. Still has mineral crystal. Rogerwine
  14. What a pathetic story. You may be a good salesman, but hopefully you will gain some empathy, perspective and a lot of maturity before you ever manage anybody. Your perspective now says a lot about you, but you just don't get it. Rogerwine
  15. I sent mine back 2 days ago as It wouldn't work and I don't want a replacement. It should be back to Josh by the 24th of June. If anybody wants one, Josh will have it to fix and its the correct hand stack. So give him an e-mail and you might be able to capture it. Rogerwine
  16. The number #1 selection is a perfectly good selection with some mid-range respected names and also some mild cigars, and at $2.00 + a stick you can't go wrong. So go with 2 #1 samplers, plus one other higher end selection for the more knowledgeable smokers in the group. Rogerwine
  17. I think this is going to be a winner for all concerned. With Allergydoc, Lanakai and dTann on RG, reviews (ncluding some head to head photos of the Gen and Rep) all reporting very positive results and seeing what I can see with regards to the photos. This is going to be a rep that I will be able to easily overlook the small stuff and enjoy the wrist time. Granted the movement reliability is still out there, but hopefully most of us will not have to cross that bridge. I am just going to stay tucked away in a mist of optimism. Rogerwine
  18. Well this is going to be interesting. After wearing nothing but Pams and 44+mm watches (Not including crown) for the past 3 years, I am anticipating giving the GMT plenty of wrist time. So, in preparation for it's arrival, I am wearing my old Seiko Black Monster on SS band to get an approximation of how the GMT will feel and wear, and to be honest I am having no problems with the smaller watch and I am really enjoying the tool-ness of the Monster. This might sound weird, but I have been hog-tied to big watches for quite a while now and I can remember vividly the days, when I thought that my 53mm U-Boat was "just right". Kind of like thinking back on the leisure suits I used to wear in the 70s' ( Yea I'm an old fart, but boogie -on). So this just might be a further evolution for me in the circle of my watch-consciousness. Wow, me wearing a Rolex, well back to the future! Rogerwine
  19. I am blown away. That is really something to consider. Rogerwine
  20. Yea, I just popped for one. Couldn't resist the frenzy, but at the same time I luv it. I have never been interested in Rolex, except for this model. When the 1st reps came out last year, I almost wadded in but the case and bezel issues kept me out. But this model...... well now I'm excited. Hopefully I ordered in time. Rogerwine
  21. It really depends on your standards or expectations. DSN lume has always been a disappointment to me, albeit better then standard rep lume. In may cases the hands and dial do not match or the glow is 2nd rate. My latest purchase was in March when I bought a 172 Tantalum model from him with a blend of C1 and C3 on the sausage dial to be closer to the gen. The glow on this watch was almost non-existent and worse then any other Pam rep that I have ever purchased. This is the same experience I had with his 005 and 177. So, I have sent them all out for re-luming. I find it an irritant because better lume is one of the things that you are paying for in his watches and IMHO it just isn't worth the money. But I have no experience with his new automatics and it would be interesting to see if they are any better. If not and if lume quality is important to you, then expect to spend the extra money to get the quality you want. Rogerwine
  22. Amazing and informative review. Thank you for the effort and this shines a big ray of reality on the build of some reps. Rogerwine
  23. Outstanding outcome and well done. There has to be a lot of satisfaction gained with stopping those idiots in the act and saving your own property. I acquired my defensive skills in the U. S. Marine Corp as well as a good measure of restraint. And the restraint has served me well since then. Rogerwine
  24. The 187 has a sense of bling about it , plus being so massive. To me its somewhat in the big Breitling category. So I don't think you will give the size of the dial a second thought. However with the bezel that you are getting on your model, there might be a different feel altogether. Rogerwine
