  1. I didnt work on a 2824 since 2 years, the 2824 is a low beat right ? but if I remember, the 2824 balance wheel is bigger than on a 2836, so the 2824 hack lever will not work Are you sure the 2824 and 2836 keyless parts and hack lever have the same design ? I am not sure
  2. if it helps, here its a gen parts shop, 1675-16750 bezel sets are in a range of 400 - 800 euros http://www.chrono-shop.net/fr/12-lunettes-
  3. As I am a boobs specialist and a reconized French [censored], I will say boobs are gen, heavy and which are falling, not really exiting, or, yes, exiting as they are gen. Boobs specialists are clear : natural falling is better than plastic arrogant shells which is vulgar, especially with blond girls. I have a serious doubt concerning people in USA who declare to own Comex stamped watches. Comex is a French company, family atmospher, like a very private club. These watches are kept by owners and passed into family and Comex employees. No offence, but Comex dials and casebacks in USA are fake, its like Rolls Royce cars, I have seen RR limousine sold in a Fort Lauderdale -FL - by a Rolls dealer garage, RR never made limousines... even for a special order,
  4. lol, kitchen table watchplumbing Chinese chit
  5. I am late to reply, sorry, Thanks guys for your comments, The honor is for me, I'll give you details by pm, Thanks to all members for the nice comments, I will try to produce much more and various, Subs, SD and cosmographs, work in progress...
  6. CG are vrong, Crown is to big, The seconds hand is fat, like an LV second hand, Avoid it, Or, if you buy, expect lot of mods, That bad, as this watch is so cool ! just a joke
  7. Absolutly fantastic, great job, Congrats, I am envious, I would like to find the funds and parts to build the same,
  8. the thesis, the antithesis and the synthesis, This year 2012 started with the number 3. I am not a Free Mason, don't read mystic messages under my prose, in fact I will do short. I prefer photos than blabla. I just finished the building of 3 GMT 1675, the twins are for 2 great members here, Akira's friends, and the third is for my friend Zeleni. 2 Classic CG design, and the Zeleni's one is an El Corniño replica. With the El Corniño the challenge was to replicate a gen using mainly aftermarket parts. I didn't have the time to put together a gen and Zeleni's one and take a photo... Z was so in a hurry Anyway, at this level of precision, don't thing it cost nothing : it cost a lot of money and time, sourcing parts, machining, fitting, its not an "out of the box Chinese rep" from .... or.... Both classic CG 1675 use gen parts : gen dials, gen tubes and crowns, gen cristals and gen inserts. The difference is enormous : cutting and machining the plexi is easy, no cracks, easy to waterproofing. Aftermarket plexies most of the time crack under pressure contraints. Even if you don't see anything, cracks appear after a few days.... etc. etc now pics, from the building since the delivery The construction... All hands are stripped then relumed, matching with dials dots One gen dial had serious damages. Old lume was removed, markers appear being white enamel paint repaired ! - these dial pics looks horrible, macrozoom lense, to hard, like if you take a photo of your skin with a tele/macro medical lense... the other one... And now, watches are assembled Gen inserts were slightly aged, a light discoloration, at the members request The El Corniño insert must have an "extreme vintage look" definitety ! Hope you liked this little article !
  9. Ronin did a fantastic and great job, he built a gen, full gen parts, its not the same game room, don't compare, Here the game consist to replicate 1/1 with replica parts.
  10. http://www.type22.co...l.php5?m=379740# Now I work free lance with this collector shop on vintage restauration sold 11K euros Zeleni's copy : pointed CG closer :
  11. Yes a great post from Akira and great responses and infos from members Flo, for the dremel, I recommand silicon polishing discs and pointy bits (search for Proxxon flexible silicone polishing discs) if you run a high speed, it removes also a little material. Its good for the finishing after the file to remove tool marks. fix the dremel and work holding the part with both hands. Protect your eyes and use a magnifying glass a good lighting of the work station
  12. sorry LHOOQ, my words were probably to wild, but since some weeks I noticed a lot of change, I sent a mail to David yesterday, here ------> watch.david@gmail.com to say hello... usually, I got an answer in minutes, or due to the different time zone, at least half a day later. Right no, I have no response... The Ebay store still shows some items, I will be in Asia next month and probably I will make a raid in HKG, Shenzhen and Gangzhou, just for fun, will try to understand, meet people and see stuff. I will bring a caliper and photo material.
  13. haha, who is this Steve ? a scammer/cupid middle man ? and who cares and cry with him about his aunt or grandmother ? not me strange, I have always passed orders from David on Ebay, sounds like this DW website is not the same guy
  14. Valty, you have a great Rolex Cosmograph culture Chapeau bas, I think I have missed somthing about DW... depending of the hour, its not the same guy answering the questions, ist going from regular English to African blabla style, so WTF ? Are we talking on the same frequency ?
  15. Valty, you should try those from Yuki, also you need tools to squeeze/broach to work on hands and pinions, when I talk about tools I mean good tools, not Ebay crap from Hong Kong You should see a professional watchsmith, remember, I told you, these movements are fragile About DW : http://www.dw-watches.tk/ watch.david@gmail.com Who is Steven ? another new "DW" ? "DW" is confusing as 5 - 6 years ago the original DW was David Wong, as this name appeared on all paypal transactions. He completely disappeared from the rep makers/dealers world now, we have DW watches, not the same person, different name
  16. I have found a little friend for the Comex, the rare 660ft-200m anchor Also now I have all the parts to build a second one, thanks to Ephry who sold me an excellent dial !
  17. The Yuki classic 1675 dial is not really good, crown and fonts are o.k but the white printing is poor, looks like water paint I bought already 2, and both were one more seriously refinished in France The prints on gen dials looks slightly embossed, very consistant, The best 1675 dials from Yuki are the gilt, they are outstanding, and a gilt dial with silver hands is the top of the top
  18. great job ! vintage look ! yes, I agree, not necessary to use crystal epoxy, this is looking great !!!
  19. The problem with regular epoxy, its not clear You should try to find "Araldite Crystal" this is a special epoxy really clear like a glass window and made especially for jewlers to glue precious stones on rings for exemple. First put a drop of luminous material in the pearl hole, let it cure well, they just cover with a well rouded drop of crystal epoxy. Use an oil pic or a sewing needle to do that. The stuff should be setted in place by capilarity
  20. crazy... At J&W level of price, they make annonce to say they have improved a piece of a watch... WTF???? exactly like 50 bucks parts from basic Chinese/makers/dealers... imagine you buy a $... Daytona case, or Sub etc... from J&W, and in fact its not at specs... same as... all these clowns... lol
  21. Thanks all for the kind comments This is a gen for sale on "Montres mécaniques" a French forum. It's well what they call a 1675/3 - not a 16753, according to the hands stack. Not in great conditions, lot of scratches and stretched jubilee. Note : middle links are hollow but made from solid gold, its very soft. The guy ask for 3650 euros, I will experiment to ask him for 3000 euros cash from hand to hand, I am sure he would be o.k The caseback New pics from gorouk's 1675 with a brown insert/gold fonts The caseback with sticker
  22. very simple, the simple way consists to cut the dial feet and glue the dial on the movement. the second way, more difficult as the modder is supposed to be able to disassemble/reassemble the movement and have the right tools : 2 holes or notches in clearance with the Rolex dial feet are machined in the movement plate. Glue is also necessary, as there is no arms or screws disposal to hold the dial feet tight in place.
  23. Great job ! Just imho, and it concern only my taste, I think the case on the left is better, more consistant CG. The CG, on the watch at right with the gen dial, looks to short again, its just me again congrats and thanks to share edit : sorry, I just noticed the difference of both crowns, I suppose the right watch has a gen crown ?
  24. For the first time in the rep world a 1675 TT Nipple dial has been reproduced ! Champagne ! (right now, gorouk and me enjoy Paulaner beer, ) More pics will follow from gorouk in the coming days. These were taken this morning, the watch is still in observation as we have a little problem with the gen crown. No more comments about the building and technical, if you have questions, just ask, To make short, gold parts like the bezel assembly and the hands are gold platted. The European standards are 5 microns of 18k, here we have on both bezel ring and hands 10 microns of 24k gold !!! the job is guaranted by the shop here in Paris. Case is the 1655 1/1 from Josh, powered by the DG3804, a real workhorse , 21.600bph - true GMT movement WSO complete 1675 bezel assembly, (with gold platted bezel ring) Gen Nipple dial, circa 1976 (according books) Gen tube & crown (crown is in solid gold) Clark 25-116 plexi Gen Rolex springbars Rafflestime TT 18k/SS jubilee with classic vintage clasp Gorouk is waiting for parts to finish the project, I used my TT jubilee from Rafflestime to take the pics, Enjoy! more will come, with the patined case back original sticker for exemple ... And this watch is a perfect watch to wear at Christmas time.... La Magie de Noël, Champagne, Foie Gras, Alcools & Cigares
