  1. Have you asked Kenberg as to the availability of his products? Been cruising his offerings lately and might be contacting him shorty for a few shirts and such... need to let the funds recover a bit from my last purchase though.
  2. <====== Very Impressed. Great gesture from both of you two Carl and Omni. Makes me feel like a cheap putz for just finally getting around to "platinum" status 'round these parts.
  3. I certain that is a large load of stress off your shoulders... great news for someone else always brightens my day.
  4. Just my .02cents... How many Pams have you spotted in the wild around where you live? In my neck of the woods, I've spotted one. A 111 on a bracelet. On a hot blonde driving an extremely expensive Porsche 911. (I honestly was trying to get a better look at her watch when she looked over at me and saw me drooling on my window.... I swear) I don't feel at all odd wearing my 127 or 187 out and about... they are rare enough birds that even 99% of those that are "in the know" as to *what brand of watch* your sporting wouldn't know a rep from a gen anyhow. A great strap always helps =) If you live in an area saturated with paneristi, I would suggest you evaluate more carefully. However if you live in a part of the country where they are a bit scarce, wear what ever you like and can reasonably pull off with your general attire and body language.
  5. I second the sentiments of the quoted post. Fully. Opps did I just say that!!!
  6. As always By-Tor, your photography skills are beyond compare. You captured that watch perfectly.
  7. Wonderful stuff... lets see... I've got to wait 6 years and 4 monthes till my "tester" is primed and ready to rock. Till then I may have to borrow "testing equipment" from others. I think my "tester" might be willing to start now... I'll could try her out with my PO and her little tub-in-the-tub bathing set up.
  8. You'll be missed AJ, its a sad day to see a longtime and respected member hanging up the reps for the time being. Best wishes in your future pursuits and please come and visit anytime.
  9. Man, Is there anything you *CAN'T* do on the intertubes? Congrats Mate. Don't let people try to talk you out of the "real" deal when it comes time... if you've got the right partner, best decision you could ever make. And if you missed it above... congrats!
  10. Yes, Hublot existed in 2002... been around for quite a while in fact... the 1970's were their peak if I recall correctly... But the HBB pulled them out of the "left for dead" pile.... lets see what they follow up with. And in Re: Sinn and reps... I'm gonna have to guess that if Sinn's were rep'd they wouldn't get the care of the SFSO, HBB or other super-reps of late... I'd love to see em done well though... If the rep makers take too long... i'll probably end up with a gen... you hear that rep makers?... potential lost sale to a GEN manufacturer... *gasp*
  11. Look again... those are the crappy HBBs... screws are wrong... subdials wrong... etc etc etc.... But all in all... pretty much what I expected to see for a rep "factory"
  12. From what I've read.. Hubolt from the CEO on down has been super aggressive in attacking the reps... more so than even Rollie... Perhaps it has to do with the CEO accusing the rep sellers of showing pictures of a "gen" for their sales pitches... and being wrong. And yes, they are still available... try emailing TWP, Josh, Andrew, PT.... just not easy to find on the dealer sites anymore...
  13. My thoughts exactly ^^^ I looked at this watch a bit yesterday. Depending on price and if it will fit the "nice" Hbbs... I'll prolly buy one for the bracelet only.
  14. Strangly enough my Pam 186 is the watch that came the closest to doing me in... GMT modded 7750 ran great for about a year, losing about 2 sec a month. Then one fateful day the rotor started making big time noise.... "Ka'Thud, Clang, Doing" etc... Easy fix me thinks, rotor screw prolly worked itself loose. Popped my caseback and found the screw sheared and the top got lodged underneath the rotor and bogarted the balance.... So i find myself in need of parts for a 7750... if your offer is serious Estaban let me know, I could use your movement for parts and between the two hopefully come up with one working movement. My wrist misses my 186 even if it is the old version with the messed up caseback, crappy gmt-hand and non-existant magnification on the cyclops. I've never had an issue anything like this with a gen, but I've had a pretty good pile of mechanical wierdness from my reps. I've learned a mess about the movements by necessity, had to fix something minor in almost every rep i've ended up with. For instance, why does EVERY SINGLE rollie rep drop a lume marker roughly every 13 hours of wear.... YEESH. And how many movement holders/screws can work loose and end up in a movement?... Single issue? nah... many issues leading up to a final straw?.... yep I'm pretty close to that.
  15. Saw a Gen GMT II today... wow. Beauty. Looking forward to a good rep.. that bezel is gonna be hard to do right.
  16. @ DaDog... not for me its not.... ah well.
  17. Interesting to see that the situation has to some extent resolved. Its good to read your point of view on this situation Lanikai. Its a damn shame that this situation and disagrement had to be aired in such a public forum. I would certainly hope that Lanikai and Flav have re-opened lines of communication and can resolve the issues fully.
  18. From what I've read, that works great on Ti... dunno how it would affect SS...
  19. http://www.perfectclones88.com/pn19201-tan...nos-p-3287.html A new edition of the beloved Lemania Manual wind movement 192?.... Beauty.... I was all excited and so ready to order till I read... "Brushed SS Case, Polish SS Bezel".... SOOOO close to being another "super-rep"... then *Pop* goes the dream... Ah well... anyone know how to oxidize brushed SS to look more like Ti?... or better yet... darken brushed SS to look like Tantalium?....
  20. my suggestion and .02cents... email and ask trusty how he'd like you to do it... Andrews always been quick to reply and my transactions with him went flawlessly.
  21. The Zigmeister is the only one I'm aware of that will work on the A7750 movement... I believe that Vaccum has stated he won't work on them... (correct me if I'm wrong here Vac... you do great work) I'm not certain about any of the other watchmakers here... The Zigmeister is the only one I can say that will certainly work on the 7750.... but I do believe that he's on vacation for the next few weeks.
  22. As suggested by Usil... I also size my bracelets to fit my wrist on a hot afternoon or after a long day... they may be a bit loose in the morning or when its cold... but not soo loose as to be annoying... If your wrist size changes are so drastic that this isn't a viable option.... perhaps the two watch, one on wrist, one in pocket isn't a bad idea.... either ways its an excuse to change watches throughout the day. =)
  23. Wow... I'm not certain how to respond to this mess... but wow the cajones on that person for that emails contents and tone... yeesh. Flav, from what i've seen in photos, and one of your lume jobs on the wrist of a friend... you do good work. From your own post, its obvious that you go above and beyond in the instances where you feel that you have err'd or gotten a job above your abilities... I commend you for that. Your full refund to the complainant is amazing... you have time, effort and parts in those watches... I feel you've gone above the call of duty here. The threat of "48 hours... or else..." is truly uncalled for, I'm certain that your fellow modders/watchmakers and members in general would love to know the name of this person to add them to our own blacklists... I'd also love to see the person who threatened you in such a manner step up and present his/her side of the story. It would be a shame to see an upcoming modder shot down by someone with such bad manners. I only do work for myself at this time, but I can say... working inside a mechanical watch is stressful enough without having the added stress of a customer that is making threats.... It would be understandable if you chose to stop offering your services, but it would also be a blow and a loss for the community as a whole.
  24. Looks almost PVD ... Base... with orange lume???WTF???... yep, I have no idea at all. But at least he's kicking dudes' @ss for wearing a timex.
  25. Perhaps I've just had good luck with my various reps and the recoil of firearms... I've shot the heck out of my 1873 Uberti (REP!!! Colt) Peacemakers... prolly 300-400 rounds a week and never drifted a hand... Also shot many a high power round... .50bmg and never had an issue... I would be inclined to belive that luck and reliance on the QC of our dealers plays a role... my 7750s (mostly GMT mods... a few chronos) run like champs... recoil hasn't killed one yet.
