  2. With that movement; not a chance. With a correctly printed subdial & more shapely CGs, probably 6 months.
  3. Some of the best Zeigunerschnitel & spatzle I've had in ages. Washed down with a lovely Piesporter Michelsberg.
  4. *drool* I can't tell you how much I've always loved the trilogy of time. What I call my "wet-dream" watch...that and a seconds @ 6 Daytona rep with a properly built extra gear bridge...
  5. Go for it! Even most rep boxes run $80, plus shipping.
  6. Some dealers have different versions of the 6 o'clock sub-dial, but are are misprinted either a 1-31 month/calendar or 1-24 day/calendar. The crown guards are also way off; ironic for a Rolex replica, these aren't thick enough. Neither one of these flaws allow this piece to be believable. Wait for the next generation to come out--probably within 6 months.
  7. It's a sad statement for the virtues of patience in this day and age, in the midst of all the wonders of technology, that we can quibble over two seconds.
  8. How is this performed? All I see is: nglayout.events.dispatchLeftClickOnly and nglayout.debug.enable_xbl_forms
  9. you'd be surprised how many do. My last AD purchase was the Seamaster chrono. The girl who sold me was showing off her rep Cartier that she got in NY...
  10. Yes. By an SMP chrono with a gen band. But the main thing that fooled me was the fact that the guy who was wearing it worked at Bailey, Banks & Biddle (AD).
  11. Wow--what a piece of [censored].
  12. How does the sign with the smoking fish translate?
  13. However, on pick a PC laptop, I'd go with the Toshiba, personally. My girl uses a PC notebook for her work & they recently had to replace her Dell & she chose the Toshiba. A very nice machine. I just can't stand Vista though.
  14. Absolutely not a problem! I am completely satisfied with it--like I said, fast as hell shipping & a price I couldn't pass up! As for the movement, after being filled in by davethecat @ RWI, (and doing some homework online) ETA appears to be 100% correct. Now I'm almost skeptical about replacing this band with the Rolesor...I like the asymetrical look; more old-fashioned. Plus polishing & brushing another band seems redundant. On a side note, can anyone tell if this is a recent font or an older one in the day-window? Might help me to determine which way to go with the band. (Wearing this one to dinner in a few days with my new Armani at Le Train Bleu, & La Fermette Marbeuf, in Paris http://www.le-train-bleu.com/uk/navigation.htm http://www.bestrestaurantsparis.com/restau...te-marbeuf.html
  15. Interesting. Personally, I always felt the OSX OS was so user friendly even novices could figure it out without any manual. The PC laptops always seemed to nickel & dime you to death for bluetooth, wireless, software, etc, when the mac simply comes with it all. And how big of a screen do you need on a laptop before getting redundant? That's why they were originally called "notebooks"--because they weren't supposed to have a footprint much bigger than an actual notebook. To each his own though; I just don't want to be carrying around 17 or 20 inches of screen with me--it's like having an LCD tele in your bag.
  16. Nice double AR. & the case-back's gorgeous.
  17. And guess what? It actually is an ETA. Lifting the sticker from this: To this: Interesting story from an RWI member named davethecat: "It's an ETA. 2169 is a numbering used for Enicar 11.5L 21,600 a/h with the day date module. The Enicar/Racine (see the comical twist) watch company has a strange history that ultimately winds into selling its movement business unit to ETA sometime in the late 60's. Afterwards they outsourced much of their movement needs to ETA. They were always proud of their "AR" badged in-house movements (even though many were A Schild or the like) - so they coaxed ETA into using their numbering system on ETA 28XX movements. I though the practice of using Enicar number had ended. So you may have a scavenged movement. If you're really curious, you might lift the sticker on the rotor and see what marks are there. In the end, you're probabaly in great shape. No worries." Fascinating. You learn something new every day.
  18. Daunwaun? This isn't a Datejust; it's a Daydate. Again, as stated previously, it depends on the model year. Two posts above contain a picture of a $21K genuine that obviously does not fit.
  19. A good story always help "make" an item. If any one asks where the strap came from, tell them it was from the interior of classic Ferrari.
  20. Definitely Mac. That is, unless you like error messages. I used to swear by PCs myself, but I don't know a single person who's switched to Apple and ever gone back.
  21. Even though some of the gens aren't supposed to line up either... I did order a new ss prez rolesor bracelet from Andrew last week, so hopefully, the SELs will fit better.
