Gen to rep.
I like this version--even flawed, it's starting to grow on me. Think for $98 I'll have to snap one up. Have to dremmel the living [censored] out of it to get it closer to white-gold.
I think it holds some water. Buick seems to have taken over the legendary quality that Oldsmobile possessed before closing its doors. God knows Cadillac didn't pick up the slack for the American auto manufacturers...
Volvo wagons only for my daily drive, though--after the accident that I walked away from, I probably won't own another brand for some time.
Rep boxes looks like [censored] in person. Too much pthalo green in the plastic, too cheap looking, outer box is the wrong color too, and the QC on the inside details are horribly cheap looking. Besides, they're around $70-$80, and so are the real ones, so what's the point?
I buy all my gen boxes off "Tomyana", on eBay, for the same price. Here's some pics of the real one:
The case number is 178.0514.
The bracelet number is 1504-826.
This seems to count for both the 2006 style SMP chrono, 2559.80.00, and the newer SMP chrono with the missing lume @3 & 9 & red "Seamaster", 2225.80.00.
My SMP's reserve will do about 24 hrs; if fully wound.
And fyi, contrary to popular belief, whether a chrono is running constantly, stopped constantly, or used at all makes no difference to the life expectancy of the watch or it's power reserve.
Anyone know it? Not the model # but the case number, rather.
Looking to buy a gen bracelet for my SMP chrono rep. I can't find any of my paperwork to pinpoint the actual case #.
Anyone have personal experience fitting the gen to the rep?
Thanks.
You know, I'd like to see pics & a link of this in the modern (white dial & black dial). If the seconds sub-dial sweeps and doesn't tick, for a cheap little novelty, it'd be fun. CGs are only 15 minutes out of your day and I'm not in the business of timing things, so for that price, I could give a [censored] less about the chronos.
Some people would speak bias to, or for, their favor. Logically, it's too young to say. When looking for advice would you trust a tenured member, or a newbie?
