  1. Let's hope they don't phuck it up with something easily avoidable--like an over-sized crown--or anything else so glaringly obvious it destroys the entire look.
  2. I don't think that's real... the hour-markers are laid on so sloppy they don't even line up with the lume dots, and the dial print is so poor it looks like Chinatown quality.
  3. Or anyone else for that matter receive one?
  4. @ "watcher": So has this piece arrived yet? Any pics?
  5. With all the dealers you can read about on this board by its members, why buy Andrew's $188 Sub for $600?... I made the mistake of getting raped by swissexpert.net before discovering RWI & RWG. It's the exact same watch--there's absolutely no difference. (and try the "search" function" http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...;hl=swissexpert ) EDIT: Here's the exact same sub, mine from Andrew: http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?main...7d2a6720d9adebf
  6. Depends on which kind of SS. Brushed is just brushed, but high polished SS is palladium plated (i.e. the Daytona). All white gold is also palladium plated, seeing as there's no such thing as "white" gold. It's just an alloy of gold with various other metals that have to be palladium plated, otherwise they wouldn't be as shinny or as "silver" looking. Whether it's wedding bands or watches, once white gold begins to wear, it starts to turn yellow--like the real gold it's based on--and eventually has to be re-plated.
  7. Just another case-in-point of that redneck, white-trash Bush's complete lack of respect for all rights, not to mention the entire Judicial branch, and the basic fundamentals of the constitution itself. For all intents and purposes, by his actions, he's basically saying "F*ck you" to every, single American citizen who has ever gone through a "fair" trial, or anyone who's awaiting one. Sadly, all the other crooks in this administration are heaving a sigh of relief, and will soon be toasting each other in Georgetown bars. While being the polar opposite of Gitmo, its same principle is just another example of his administration's complete erosion of "justice and liberty for all"; the very basis of our citizen's pledge of allegiance to his nation. As someone who is soon to be bar certified, this is the entire f*cking purpose behind the American legal system!--flawed as it may be--OJ Simpson, Martha Stewart, Michael Jackson, "Scooter" Libby, etc.; the purpose of the trial is to give the best shot at being acquitted or being found guilty; of proving one's self in the strongest & most supportive possible legal environment. Yes, innocent people sometimes get sent to prison, and yes the guilty sometimes go free, but the good must be occasionally taken with the bad in order to provide the best defensive power for the individual, and the best prosecutorial power for the law. But once verdict is reached, rightly or wrongly, the decision's been made. Period. The smartest (and most dignified) recourse is always appeal. For Christ's sake, millions--if not tens of millions--of tax-payer dollars were absolutely wasted when this man was convicted in a Federal court of law, sentenced, and then everything done during the process was immediately negated and flushed down the toilet (ironically for both the prosecution & defense) by Dubbaya...once again...enacting his own version of "justice". The man is so unbelievably ignorant, even on an elementary level; such an embarrassing example of leadership--the absolute worst in American history--that at this point, short of Cheney or Rove taking over, it really doesn't matter who wins the next election--it couldn't get much worse. It's very sad to think that with the complete erosion of basic freedoms, civil liberties, human rights, environmental law, depletion of the Federal surplus, the halt to a growing economy, and the entire concept of justice destroyed that will have transpired during his unfortunate two terms in office; regardless of who's elected next this country will make very little progress--a great majority will simply be time wasted just trying to get us back to square one. It will take everything (over more than the next two terms) just to correct the wrong-doings of the Bush administration. And what's sad is--conspiracy theories or no--September 11, 2001 gave that man the chance to shine above all other world leaders--both past and present--and to record his name in history next to the greatness of FDR, Churchill, Kennedy, and Reagan, etc. Pathetically, he blew it--he actually wound up doing just the opposite. No wonder my travel agent tells us to wear a maple-leaf t-shirt when traveling abroad... What an absolute disgrace this man has been to this country. And the rest of the world.
  8. Nice. Your box is a gen, btw. If you need another one cheap, keep an eye out for a seller by the name of "Tomyana", in Hong Kong. You can get the gen inner & outer box, new, beautifully packaged & shipped in styrofoam for about $78.
  9. You live in S Fla, and you're having trouble finding imigration clients?! Leave your front door open for about 15 minutes...
  10. Happy B-day, you text-book narcissist.
  11. When I was 17, my girlfriend Brooke had a Cartier. Two factors I'd consider if I saw a 15 year old kid wearing one of these. One, 99% of the population won't even notice she's wearing a watch. Of the 1% who do, 99% of those won't know a Rolex from a Timex. Two, the believability factor of said watch on a teenage girl completely depends on how "hot" the girl is and how well she keeps herself, quite frankly. If she's an very attractive girl from a comfortable family; if she's got great hair, an expensive smile, French manicure/pedicure, brand label clothing, European car, etc., it's not too incredible or unbelievable. My high school was a performing arts school and there were no shortage of cute ballerinas getting a Lexus, BMW or such for their sweet 16th. If parents can drop 40K on a teenagers car, a 15K watch isn't out of the question.
  12. Interesting topic. My currents include: Daily: 16610 Sub Dress: SS Daytona 116520 Casual: Panerai 051 Sporty: SMP Chrono
  13. Pull the crown out to winding position with the case-back open, press the release button with a 1.2 mm screwdriver (NOT smaller), & remove the crown/stem from the movement. Lube the rings on the inside & outside of the crown tube, and the one inside the crown itself, where the stem attaches. Grease the case-back gasket & secure all firmly back in place. Good to go.
  14. Excellent--my b-day.
  15. Try building another Franken-Daytona for a little extra $$, then sell it to someone who either doesn't know where to source all the parts and/or doesn't have the time. *ahem*
  16. Open crown usually won't do it alone. Get yourself one of these: http://www.damprid.dsiwebbuilder.com/index.asp?cat=173068 After 30 minutes with the lid on (crown open), it'll be dry as a bone.
  17. 'Cause I wholeheartedly live by that too.
  18. Same girl here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=34670&hl= Just good skin & skin care, that's all. You can thank Lucrece's "Nano Peptides B5", Christian Dior's "Capture Totale" cream, and Dr. Brandt's "Pores No More". Edit: I use them too--definitely worth the go.
  19. [censored]! In Miami (Doral) for that weekend--business trip.
  20. You're in Florida--feel free to drop me a line the next time you're near Tampa. We can talk law...
  21. Definitely not an acceptable gain on time. Unless she's always running late, then leave it. But to get it adjusted or do it yourself, it's very simple: http://www.rwg.cc/members/How-To-Adjust-Yo...eat-t19163.html I purchased a ladies datejust a while back that had the exact same problem. Basically, for the long and short of it, look at the pic below. If you turn screw "C" clockwise (as illustrated by the arrow) each etched notch will slow down the movement 5 secs per notch, per day. If you've turned it all the way to the last notch on the left and it's still too fast (which at 2 & 1/2 mins fast per day, this still won't completely correct it), VERY CAREFULLY move arms "A" & "B" further apart from each other--you might have to move them a little further each day after timing it, to make sure you haven't over-shot the mark. You might also have to move "A" & "B" as far apart as they'll go. Movements being too dry can also run fast, but this should correct it.
  22. I wonder what truly determines that. Gasket thickness? Fresh silicon grease? Triple-lock crown as opposed to single or double? No pushers? Concave/convex lens vs. flat? The only reason I ask is I've gone diving in my SMP chrono (rep)--down to almost 100 ft, at least once a month since I bought it last year--without a hitch. Mind you, on all my sports models, I make sure the crystals are pressed tight myself, remove the case-back, stem, & movement, and grease all the gaskets & seals, then wrap it back up tighter than Tom Thumb's ass. I also go board diving at home on almost a daily basis (cannon-balls and all) with my Sub LV from Andrew and have never had a problem either. I highly recommend everyone doing the same and regular pressure tests for assurance, if you're going near water. Since I sold my Bergeon tester to a member here, I have to have someone else perform them now, but it only costs $10 & 10 minutes; and even as much as I swim, I only test them once or twice a year--tops. The newer models are much tougher than most people give them credit for & definitely worlds ahead of what they were even 2 or 3 years ago. But I wouldn't try them untreated, straight from the box.
  23. The picture those mugs put in my head is not worth a thousand words. Maybe a thousand Lords prayers or Hail Marys...
  24. I guess I could, but I'd get a fish slapping.... Ooh, look! A gen datejust!!! And some Tiffany's from Kenberg!
  25. Those are Mennonites, not true Amish; the Mennonites are a bit more "liberal" than the Amish, as in actually wearing colors other than black. And they'll do ass-to-mouth.
